Stardust (2007)
I absolutely loved this film!
This movie is magical, beautiful and funny. It has the elements I like about a movie. Surely this is not action sci-fi, but I bet a lot of guys would still like it. If you're considering seeing it, you should. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to see it at first, but I'm so glad I did! It became one of my favorite movies of all time :)
So the movie itself is about a young man who goes on a hunt for a fallen star to give to his loved one, so that she would marry him. He has one week, otherwise she will marry another man. On this journey, the man does find the star, but the star is actually a young woman. They fall in love, and the star shows him what real love is.
I Love Lucy (1951)
I love it!
I Love Lucy is a classic, and for a reason. It's suitable for everybody. It's funny and sweet. I watch it almost everyday. I've seen all the episodes who knows how many times, and they are still just as funny as when I saw them for the first time. It always makes you *at least* smile. The only "problem", or annoying thing I find in it, is that Lucy lies a lot. I just don't think it's OK even for a sitcom. A classic lie is "it's our anniversary" so she can get what she wants. How many would actually want to be married to a lier? I wouldn't. Of course it's just a TV show and shouldn't be taken seriously, but it still kinda bugs me when she does that. And it makes Ricky look dumb not to notice that. But anyway, I love the show, it's one of the best shows ever, if not the best!
Marie Antoinette (2006)
Disappointment...
A few things to point out:
Plus: + Beautiful wardrobe + Beautiful buildings and scenery
Minus: All the audio: - The music: The movie has today's music, but the movie is set in the 1700s. That's actually the first thing I thought when I started watching it. I was thinking "what the heck is with the music"?! - The spoken language: It was a mixture of American English, British English and French. It was weird that Marie spoke American English even though she was from Austria where people speak German. They could have made her speak with an accent or something to make it more believable. Same with the other characters.
Little House on the Prairie (2005)
Boring, too much about Indians...
I really like the 70's Little House On The Prairie a lot better. I grew up with it. I still watch it. Better actors, more exciting etc. I thought this mini TV series was too much about Indians. It's like they were lurking everywhere. I have read the books, but I don't remember if they were about Indians. But when making a TV series, they should make it more exciting. I don't want to watch Indians lurking for 40 minutes... I mean yes, there were other things, but.. not a whole lot. In the show, they made them to be evil. The Indians really were not like that in real life, at least not all of them. Sure they were upset that white people took their land and stuff, but it doesn't make them bad! And other things; where the heck was Carrie? And, Laura is suppose to be a brunette! I thought Caroline's part was lame. Charles seemed to be quite hard on the girls... So, watch it if you like, but you won't miss anything by not watching it :)
Final Destination 3 (2006)
Pretty bad...
Guys, this is getting old. How many more movies do we need about the same subject? The idea of the story was interesting, and why the first one was pretty good, but when it has been done 3 times (getting more??), you know it's just done. When the whole point of the movie is, that one person sees when the people he/she knows, are going to die, and how they die. First nobody believes him/her, but after lets say a couple of deaths, they believe and start escaping the death (meaning escaping the situations where they most likely would die). But still the result is the same; everybody dies who were "suppose" to die in the first place. The effects were actually pretty good, and that's why I gave 2 stars, not 1 star what the s
A Walk to Remember (2002)
Very good!
This movie was surprisingly good. I thought it would be a teenage movie (I'm 26...) but it really is great for everybody. I don't know anything about Mandy Moore except she sings, but now I know she can act, too. Anyway, this movie was very good. Jamie (Mandy) is a daughter of a "priest" who falls in love with Landon (Shane), "the bad boy", after they start learning an act together. This movie was beautiful and heartfelt, deep. Towards the end you find out that she has a leukemia which she dies from in the end after she gets married to Landon. The reason I gave 9 stars out of 10 is because of the sad ending (otherwise 10 stars). And the last 30 minutes of the movie really keeps your eyes wet, at least mine, and I don't cry that easy. Well, you just have to see this movie if you like to reach out for tissues.
Ever After (1998)
A fantastic fantasy movie!
I LOVE this movie. I loved it when it came out, and I still love it. It's absolutely one of my favorites, and I don't have that many. It's beautiful, romantic (not in a lame way), funny, exciting etc... Suitable for all ages (in my opinion). Even my husband liked it a lot! I saw this movie in a movie theater when it came out in Europe. Now I have it on a DVD, but they have cut at least one part off, which is too bad. Oh well, it's still good! :) Here's the plot: Danielle's (Drew Barrymore) father dies when she's young. She's left with her step-mother and 2 step-sisters. Like we all know from the original Cinderella story, the step-mom and the step-sisters are mean to her. One day she meets a prince, Henry (Dougray Scott). From that moment on they have their eyes on each other... But it's not quite that easy...
