Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
It feels like a show made by people who don't care about Star Wars, nor do they understand the character
I have been a Star Wars fan my whole life, and Obi-Wan has always been my favorite character. This show is just insulting. He's not Obi-wan, he's Jake Kenobi. The writers have no idea how the write Obi's character. His core traits are all absent. Obi-Wan would never do this. The inclusion of young Leia is moronic. The Inquisitors look cheap. We have random celebrity cameos and side characters that don't add anything. The direction is awful. It honestly feels like the cast and crew have no idea what they are doing. The show takes Obi-Wan's character, what makes fans like him, andthrows it out the window. Ewan is just in it for the money, and Hayden has like two scenes. He isn't even in the Vader costume. Young Leia is annoying. Not the actress's fault, just the writers. I can't take Reva, or any of the inquisitors seriously as villains. Rupert Friend's Grand Inquisitor looks like an Ompa Loompa. Why does Obi-wan act so cynical and depressed. This is the same character who lost his master, his girlfriend, and his best friend/padawan. But what made him such a strong character was that even though he suffered such losses, he never gave up hope, and always tried to inspire those who would need it, like Luke and Ezra. Him letting a Jedi die, complaining about how bad things are to a 9 year old, and running away from a fight with Vader are all fundamentally against everything Obi Wan stood for. Also, Obi-wan wasn't just a depressed hobo on Tatooine, he was literally on a mission for Yoda. He never gave up hope. The writers would know this, if they gave a darn about Star Wars!
