Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Terrible excuse for a series from a film
If you've seen the orinal movie then you will be very dissapointed seeing this sorry excuse of a series makeover.
At first you're seeing the same challenge as the movie did. However, its instantly clear that contestants which are "eliminated" aren't eleminated in any way like in the original movie.
Was the series made for children or what?
I don't want to spoil too much about this. The only part where it came anyway near the original was the bridge challenge.
So I kept looking a bit to see if it would get better, but in the contrary it got worse.
There is very way too much conversation in this movie, not only between contestants themselves but also when they are talking in a seperate room about who they are and what they were doing in their lives.
Taking out all the unnecessary talk would have make the series half shorter probably. Sometimes it was so somniferous that I fell a sleep and often I had to use the fast forward option.
Conclusion: Ultimately boring and no where near te excitement and tension of the movie. You better skip this.
No Time to Die (2021)
By far the worst "Bond" if you want ot call it that way
This is no Bond.
I'm a die hard Bond fan since the beginning.
But the last 4 or 5 Bond movies started to get worse and worse in the sense of being Bond movies.
They became more plain action movies than Bond movies. There is nothing left from the complete idea behind the Bond movies.
So yes, the last ones and certainly this one is made by people who don't understand Bond and also painfully want to fullfill the modern good idea's of good practice.
That is fine, but then try to keep things structural.
I don't mind a new Bond being colored, that might even be a good thing. Especially because it's also a women.
But come on, it's taken too far if you seen 2 dozen movies with a blank American as Felix Leiter and the same for a typical English secretary as Moneypenny and now suddenly they both are also colored? Totally unrealistic due to the forgoing movies.
Not even to speak what happens to some of the above people. I don't want to spoil anything.
These things all down it for me. The 4 stars are only because it's a nice action movie.
Certainly not for being a bond movie. Bond movies died 4-5 movies ago.
So seen that way, I'm glad this was the last one, because it has nothing to do with Bond anymore.
Casino Royale (2006)
Good film but very disappointing as Bond movie.
It was most certainly not the best Bond ever, but the worst ever. Relative that is, because in the 60's the technique was not that far to create such nice things that can be done with f.e. computers nowadays.
As an action movie, it was a great movie with a lot of stunning action, great fighting-scene's etc., but this had nothing to do with bond anymore.
Bond movies are just known for things which can not happen in real, special techniques (made by Q) from which we saw zero in this film. A special agent breaking in at his boss's house? No Q or replacement for him, no handy toys, no humorous and sarcastic lines (which -all- bond types did, even Sean Connery. The torture scene with the rope made me sleepy, much more variation could have been done there and the solution of Bond in trouble there came way to quick and too easy.
More realistic action but a Bond story without a happy end with the bad guy going down but an open end in fact??? "We have to talk" and then the movie is done? That might be realistic but it has nothing, really nothing to do with a real Bond story in the line of all Bondstory's until yet.
Especially about the open end I was very disappointed, certain sections were too real or were displayed too long. Like I said, a very good action movie but a sorry excuse for a Bond movie.
So very disappointed but still a 5 because the action and actors played very well. I really hope the next Bond movie will be a very lot more like previous movies.
The Hunt for the BTK Killer (2005)
Bad for a movie, pretty good for a documentary
As a TV movie it had a lot more potential to bring it as a film. For example they could have chosen not to start in the beginning revealing who the serial killer is. But they did, and the rest of the movie is in fact set up like documentary. It tells the story from the view of the serial killer and a part from the police side with a little part of how the investigation was done.
That's why I would not call this one a movie, because it isn't. And if it is, then it's a bad movie, without suspense in it. No real action, only a storyboard.
However, if one is interested in serial killers en one likes documentary's or life story's about them, this is one of the better I've seen. Luckely I belong to the persons who are interested in the ways of thinking and acting of a serial killer and why they become them etc. So I've seen it completely.
But due to the fact that it's called "film" and not "documentary" it got a 3 from me. Was it called documentary it would have gotten an 8.
A Sound of Thunder (2005)
Not -that- bad, but good enough for DVD or TV
Well I don't want to say that it was just as bad as the others say.
Indeed it looked like they came a dollar short and if there was put some more effort in this movie, it could have been a lot better.
I still gave it a 5 because the last half of the movie it get's even very good with tense and thrill if you don't look to hard for the right kind of greens or other special effect things which could have been made a lot better. Unfortunately the first half of the film which is in fact a lead-in to the second half, takes too much time. They could have cut this in half, so more time could have been spend to more thrilling and suspense, and special effects and story. The story has lots of possibility's to make it a great movie, but unfortunately, they did not make enough use of it.
I would not go and watch this movie in a Cinema, not worth the money, however it's good enough for DVD of TV and in that case it would be worth the time viewing it.
Seven Mummies (2006)
Boooooorrriiinnggg
Indeed a copycat as already was written. Makeup is nice, casting great, acting reasonable to good, but the movie itself is very boring. I like the genre but the music isn't very good, there is no climax building up and the story stretches along slowly. One of the few movies I had to use the FF function to get to at least a little bit of things happening, besides the no good dialogs. Furthermore, metal or hard-rock (whatever it's called) music is louder then spoken words which made me have to use the volume button more often. Loud music is no warranty for a climax and in this case it causes rather more of an anti-climax and irritation.
I suggest you pass this movie or when you're really a genre-lover, wait until you get it almost for free. No exciting and sitting on the edge of the couch in this one.
Still I gave this movie a 3 because of cast, acting, makeup and stuff.
Open Water (2003)
Dreadful, dull movie, could better be a documentary then a movie.
Sorry, but when looking this movie, you could better go out and watch the grass grow. An hour and a half of being in the water without an end. Periods which seem timeless in which nothing happens and only the sea and 2 people are visible. The share attacks are not exciting or special. This is base on a true story, but they had better stamped this one as documentary. Only at the end when it's the guys turn, there is a very little excitement but for the rest it's a very dull movie unless you like to stair at a sea with 2 people in it and nothing happening except the hope they got which slowly is going up in smoke, some arguments between them en empty text. Never seen anything as worse as this before.
Air Marshal (2003)
good television movie/thriller
I really don't know how somebody can break off this movie like the Simeon did, there are worse movies.
This is an action movie, has enough suspense, action and tension in it. Oke maybe the actors are not all that quality, but they played there roles well especially the terrorists. That's why I think this is a good movie, not for the theater, but it's sure more then good enough for a television movie.
So if you love some action and tension in an airplane, this is a movie you would like. It's not great, but surely more then average and good enough to pass some TV hours.
