Copperhead (2013)
A very good movie
In my opinion, this movie deserves a higher rating than the 5.5 I saw it's getting. While it's not action packed, it is suspenseful and thoughtful. Lessons from this story are applicable in our current political climate. The forgotten story of the so-called Copperheads of the Civil War era, is something we would do well to revisit as Americans in this day and age. There was no need for sweeping battlefield panoramas, or vain bayonet charges. I found this story to be wonderfully told, with beautiful scenery, and apropos for our current political atmosphere. History really does repeat itself. Would that we learned the lessons of it.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Ephemera (2020)
Nice change of pace
Great story...well told. Nice seeing the crew in a different light. While it still followed a familiar pattern, I liked how they immersed themselves in the story.
Chef (2014)
Wow!
I haven't enjoyed a movie this much in a long time! Jon Favreau may be one of our great story tellers! Great story, excellent cast, and a soundtrack that will get you moving! Check this movie out!
A Christmas Carol (2012)
At least they tried
I wish I could say this was better than it is. I appreciated the old and probably historical buildings this was shot in, however it was not set in London. Someone else here also said this, if you want to introduce your children to this tale, choose another version.
A Christmas Carol (2019)
Definitely a different take
I wasn't sure I would like it, but I did. Very dark, and introspective. I think they missed the ending that Dickens intended, but it was a different interpretation. It would have been better and probably more accurate to the period without the cursing.
S.W.A.T. (2017)
Disappointed with season 4
I enjoyed the first 3 seasons. The theme song takes me back to my childhood. Season 4 has gone political. I don't want to be preached to every episode. Also, drop the obligatory Lucas video call each episode. The wife loves the show so we'll probably keep watching. At this point, I think I'd rather just watch YouTube.
The Bastard Executioner (2015)
I expected better.
It would have been better without the dig at historical Christianity. And more believable. I was confused at the end. The attraction between Wilkins and the Baroness seemed to be older than we were led to believe, yet she didn't recognize him....? Still, it was ok.
Sons of Liberty (2015)
Too many liberties taken
To many historical inaccuracies, and too much use of modern idioms for my taste. John Adams was a much better miniseries.
S.W.A.T.: Stigma (2020)
This one hit home
We lost a son to suicide several years ago. This episode was poignant, and very well done. I've struggled with that dark demon since then as well. I was impressed they worked in a clear shot of the suicide hotline number. If any of you or anyone you know is thinking about suicide, please call and talk to someone. National Suicide Hotline: 1-800-273-8255
Freedom (2014)
I couldn't overcome the historical innacuracies.
This movie could have been so much better. Cuba Gooding, Jr. is an Oscar winner....yet he was very under utilized. This story had so much potential, and I would be willing to grant some artistic license. However, from the songs that were before their time, to a close-up of a coin minted in the 1980's, I just couldn't forgive the glaring historical innacuracies.
Another Life (2019)
Step it up Netflix!
The preview gave me high hopes, and with Katie Sackhoff headlining, I thought well founded. C'mon Netflix! You're taking our money, give us something worth it. If this is the quality of what you're going to produce, it's no wonder your stock is falling and you're losing subscribers.
