Wolf Like Me (2022)
How to take a cute show and...
This show started out as something original that was cute and different. Season 1 was a good mix of storytelling and character development with a good finale in the last episode. You feel sorry for both characters, especially Josh Gadds character. You know what's coming but the show does a good job in not revealing too much. Season 2 definitely took a different tack and just doesn't capture the same essence. I was left wanting for more season 1 storytelling but was left looking forward to just getting through the episodes so it was done. Overall a bright start that fizzled out and Disney take advantage of the two primary actors talents.
Kaleidoscope (2023)
Wow - starts off great then the bottom falls out
Giancarlo is the star and leads a good story that drifts from what could have been a well remembered series to one that is slightly above mediocre. Jai Courtney's Bob takes over too much and ruins what should have been a solid 8.
The premise of having the episodes play in varied order is a good one but in my case the heist was shown last making it so anticlimactic. This caused what would normally be a good story progression into, in my case, kind of a recap of what happened for them to get to the end. I highly recommend watching the show in the logical order: I may do that at sometime but for now this has left me dissatisfied and disappointed. So sad.
Shining Girls (2022)
A well acted crime story with an unusual twist
Good serial killer story that seemed pretty standard fare until the twist pops up. While it was a bit original I felt it really took away from the story and characters and ended up disappointing me. Moss and others deserved better for the quality of their acting.
Moon Knight (2022)
Should have been better
I'll admit I don't know the character from the comics but as a novice I'm looking for a cohesive story and this wasn't it. Good cast but an inconsistent style of story telling made for a tough watch. We will see if new seasons improve things.
Ragdoll (2021)
Good acting wasted
It's a shame Good actors were wasted on this story if ineptitude, incompetence and just plain stupidity. It's hard to watch a show where you can't connect to any of the characters and this does a good job of eroding any good will you feel towards the 3 primary characters. A darn shame.
Line of Duty (2012)
The epitome of English police/crime stories
Each season builds on the next with good separate stories as well as continuing story lines. Excellent intrigue, surprises, and story make this a must watch. Well worth the time and be sure to watch in order.
The Lost Symbol (2021)
Starts off well but...
Starts off well but becomes silly with characters and plot that just drags on and on. As usual the "hero" is more interested in solving the riddle than with the consequences.
Astrid et Raphaëlle (2019)
Excellent and unconventional
Good characters that are well developed through each episode. The crimes in each episode were thoughtful and required some good thought to solve. A show well worth watching for those who need the subtitles.
Annihilation (2018)
Good cast but unfulfilled
With the cast this movie had we should have gotten a better film. The acting is good but the story is too confusing and disjointed. I don't want to be reading write ups on the web to get a clear idea of what the heck happened
