Night Gallery: The Sins of the Fathers/You Can't Get Help Like That Anymore (1972)
Another source for "You Can't Get Help Like That Anymore"
One reviewer says that this episode is based on themes from the Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? ... However, the story actually follows an older idea better: Karel Capek's play RUR (Rostrum's Universal Robots), which introduced the word "robot" to the English language. This play is about a company that makes robots, and under duress, gives them personalities. Well, the robots take over and spare only one human: one of the designers.
There's also an interesting theme of robots becoming more human-like and humans becoming more robot-like. Making the Fultons the spitting image of "lower class" workers adds an extra twist.
The Creature Wasn't Nice (1981)
Over-hyped
I bought this used, and it was titled "Naked Space". The blurb on the back says: "In the tradition of 'Naked Gun' and 'Airplane'." Never mind that only one Airplane movie had been filmed when this was, and none of the Naked Guns ...
And as for Cindy Williams "giving the crew sexy dreams", um, no, there wasn't anything like that there, just one guy's.
Still, I picked it up because I have guilty pleasures. This movie isn't one of them, though. It's 90 minutes of my life that I wish I had back. Okay, maybe 80, because there were a few good jokes.
What can I say that hasn't been said already in other reviews? Well ... it looks like they wrote ONE draft of the script and decided to shoot what they had. The writer should have let it sit overnight and worked on it, like quickening the pace or adding a B-storyline.
