Anne with an E (2017–2019)
1/10
Bored, sadly
25 March 2017
Hello, I wanted to like this series. I have always enjoyed all the Lucy M.M. books. But, I found the whole thing boring when it did not have 'modern' language. When Anne yells at Mrs. Lynn, she goes way over the top. Anne's over-the-top apology to Mrs. Lynn looked like something from a drama class student. I could not work out why Anne was yelling at the farm hand at all. Anne sounded worse than Mrs. Lynn yelling at the farmhand and yet she has been abused too. Anne's attitude does not make sense to me.

The house they used for 'Green Gables' is nice. I do not know what 'Breaking Bad' show is all about so have no idea why that writer should have gotten to write this Anne version. Made one comment on the CBC Facebook page that I do not like this show. Felt I wanted to do the same here.peace,

Endeavour: Prey (2016)
Season 3, Episode 3
so bad I turned it off
3 July 2016
Evening all! I wanted to enjoy this. The opening was alright. I got so bored with it that I gave up on it. It was fantastical and silly, unfortunately. The Senior inspector who gave Morse difficulty was talking about wild tigers/animals when he was posted in India. This was intended I guess, to make him more human. I could not keep a straight face when the "lord" said they were collecting urine for an experiment. More plot lines of the 'lord' telling the police they cannot talk to the women because they are 'delicate', nevermind there are deaths all around them. The young gal saying she was hoping to be forgiven with absolutely no context to her lines. Oi. yours,

A Place to Call Home: Day of Atonement (2013)
Season 1, Episode 5
3/10
Wanted to enjoy, but not...
15 April 2016
Hello, I wanted to enjoy this series. I have been to Australia to visit family and I enjoy good dramas. This show just started a few weeks ago on my public t.v. station. I am bored after 5 episodes, well I was bored after two, but stuck it out. I find the main character Sarah is rather wooden (somewhat like DA's Lady Mary Crawley). Sarah's character seems to me be very self-righteous and annoying. So many other characters seem to be written to fill stereotypes. I have Jewish friends, so understand the importance of the Day of Atonement. So, when Sarah apologizes to the busybody as part of her personal rites of purification it still seems as if Sarah was not contrite at all, just needing to make a point. I did appreciate the way that Olivia told off her mother-in-law after she finally figured out what was going on with James.

yours,
