Al midan (2013)
The Square
The Square was hard to watch. I could never imagine living somewhere, where the people in power are able to leave everyone poor and only provide for themselves. I could never imagine being uneducated for being poor. I could never imagine my country punishing me for speaking my mind and standing my ground. I could never imagine my Dictator having the military kill innocent people. This is a good example of when America should step in and do something to fix what they've allowed other countries to do.I was amused when they had an election to make others think they were changing to a democracy country. I would recommend this documentary to any one that is a revolutionary.
Cutie and the Boxer (2013)
Cutie & The Boxer
Cutie and the Boxer was a very homey comfortable, documentary. I like how the documentary shows that sacrifice is something that happens common when you are genuinely in love.Cutie was the supporting, loving, giving partner in the relationship. Boxer was more cocky, loud, and silly partner in the relationship. My favorite thing about this documentary is that you can see how real they are with each other, struggles and all. Heinzerling did a great job showing us how the couple sees themselves and how they see each other. I like how Ushio and Noriko speak for themselves, no narration no explanation. I would recommend this film to anyone who's a sucker for love, this film shows what its really like.
Dirty Wars (2013)
American Secrets
The documentary Dirty Wars was an eye opener , and very shocking. Jeremy Scahill did a great job uncovering a kill list, that kept getting larger and larger as people were being murdered by a secretive special operations crew. Innocent people are being killed and American citizens didn't and still don't know about it. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys uncovering government secrets and learning about what goes on in other countries and see how other countries see us as Americans. I was surprised by what the American government wants to do an American citizen. I think this is something schools should be teaching because it will teach our fellow Americans how to be civil, and understand other people point of view.
