Roll Out! (1973)
Great show.....so funny!!
In the early 70's I was assigned to an army field artillery unit in "then" West Germany. We had no television in the barracks till 74. And one of the few shows we got was ROLL OUT reruns. My buddies and I always looked forward to the next episode. Lots of nostalgia remembering those simple times.
Inception (2010)
Blew my skull slap-off!!
This was one mind blowing film (I would say "movie" and unmask my blue collar bonafides). Chris Nolan is the Hollywood version of Leonardo Davinci. I had to watch it twice just to pick up on all the nuances, twists and subtleties. In-freaking-credible, my peeps!!!
The ODESSA File (1974)
Had to own it!!
Saw this movie during my last days in the Army at Fort Benning, GA, having just returned from West Germany. What a masterpiece from beginning to end! Starting with Voigt pulling his car over in Hamburg to listen to a radio announcer reporting the assassination of John Kennedy and the ensuing buildup of the story of the death and diary of a jewish prior inmate of Riga concentration camp.......the cumulative effect of which is gripping. Then the final scene between Voigt and Schell......no, no.....not gonna spoil. An old movie now but I had to add it to my collection for sure.
Undercover Brother (2002)
In rare company........never gets old!!
Some films you never get tired of watching. Like Christmas Vacation, I can watch UB and I gotta laugh every time. I tell ya, it takes me back to the 70's and I get flashback memories of guys I knew in the Army. End of the duty shift and they're in front of the mirror blowing out the fro's and getting the high heel shoes on and maxie coats on....we're heading down to the disco in the little German town of Kitzingen. What unadulterated fun and madness!! This flick is just nonstop laughter. Had to add to my collection no doubt.
