Fake Friends playing cast in a pretend reality show?
28 February 2021
This is painful. Which really sucks bc I wanted to like this! When I saw the characters Sukki Singapore, the country's top burlesque performer, and Tabitha, their breakout star from Singapore Idol, I was pumped! Even if I didn't like the forced plots or another people, I was bound to enjoy their stories? Right? Nope. Not at all. These people are not all friends outside of this show. And right away it's the lie that is presented as truth that shines through. Trust ur audience, they know when u are being fooled. Then as the storyline progresses bots admitted that these people don't know each other real well. So when they invade each other's life and question their choices, it doesn't make sense. They just met. Everyone is asking questions that are obviously prompted by the producers, which lead the other people to be confused! After all, who cares if someone u just met thinks u should be honest with ur ex-girlfriend, plz hen u don't even know her well or the whole story! All of the girls go after Vinny and his ex-girlfriend, Christina's relationship. It's so bizarre. Vinny and Chistina obviously don't care and don't even really know the group, yet the amount of time that is spent discussing them is over-the-top! At first it made sense bc I thought they were all friends, so they had more info than we do. But nope! They know less! It's obvious that the producers made this a plot line no matter how much Vinny refuses to play along. Hen everyone goes to Sukki's burlesque shows and it just seems like no one likes it and even the few shots shown are lukewarm. I'm sure it's on purpose, but if not it's really weird then. The storyline they follow with her is so bizarre and boring compared to what it could have been. Hell, this could all be a documentary about her putting on a new modern type of hip hop burlesque show and how someone who comes from a culture that frowns on her choice of work immensely. But instead we see her go to start a long distance a boy from Minnesota. That doesn't even make sense! That screen time could have been used with better footage. She barely shares her story about why burlesque, and that's something we would really like to know more about. I just hate what a wasted storyline she is. Then the character of Tabitha is maybe going to redeem this show! Maybe we will see how her video gets filmed and be blown away with the desire to create and be creative. But when they start the video it's filming it's literally her laying lifeless lip syncing a song with a camera moving in and out towards her. The time spent trying to get an authentic video shot that expresses where she was at in her journey when she wrote this song, for a flower montage that we have seen with almost every other over produced artist. Yawn. And once again we r seeing another one of the main characters setting us up for some big creative released that is just anti-climatic. Those are just two examples of the moments that will let u down and are a missed opportunity to present this genre of talent and youth. We already have shows like this. I was hoping to learn about the culture and country ans up so Ming creative generation of Singapore. Instead I learned that this show wanted Singapore kardashian fame without understanding that it captured a group of influential influencers in a moment of time in a way that allowed us to see the vulnerability and talent of people that create such envy and high emotions. Love them or hate them, u feel something. This group just lacks any emotional investment from their cast and plots. They need to not copy what we already have and allow them to be authentic. So basically just skip this and go watch Westwood or Westside on Netflix about a group of singers doing a musical together. Now that's something with real people and a real plot!

Selling Sunset (2019– )

Great Guilty Pleasure!
28 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show is best to watch if u are looking for something to do while giving urself a spa day. -so get out ur home-care kit with ur face masks (the beauty kind, not the ones we all have now bc of COVID) & ur mani & pedi stuff & start this show! Before u begin, u need to know that there will not be some huge redemption moment. Yes the cast seems like spoiled and ridiculously snobby teenagers, but give them and this plot a chance! Everyone has a vulnerable side that the show makes sure we don't miss, and there are even some back stories that will give the biggest critic a moment of self reflection. But there's not that many & most are so heavily produced that it's obvious once the cameras turned off, the nails came back out again! It is crazy ridiculous how beautiful these women are. I mean there were times that I wanted to break every mirror in my house and delete myself from social media immediately!!! Instead I just thanked God I didn't live in LA! It's not just the people who have mind blowing good looks, these homes are outrageously perfect as well!!! So now onto the positives and negatives! Positives: The drama is great!!! U know it has to get crazy with millions at stake! Hell, their cut before taxes for selling 1-2 homes is above the average that lower and middle class people make, IN A YEAR!! So u know there is going to be some craziness happening to get those dollar bills! The drama between Mary getting tips from one of the twin bosses that she dated years ago, and the rest of the staff that doesn't EVER seem to get a home handed to them, is spicy and entertaining to say the least! Another cool thing about this series is the PARTIES & EVENTS!!! There was an open house event for brokers that didn't just have the balloons and freshly baked cookies that we all know and love, no mam, this one was OVER-THE -TOP! It had BOTOX injections too!!! Another party had a live zebra, fire breathers, actual Vegas Cirque Du Soleil all competing for attention from the attendees! And that was a small party!!! It was an amuse bouche to the insane wedding that ended season 3!!! Another of my fav things is the style!!! The hair alone is so fun to look at! It's like the braiding techniques of the tv show Vikings meets Sex in the City! I definitely wore my hair extensions more this week than usual! The dresses and shoes are orgasmic! And we hv to talk about the homes! Wow! One home has two saunas and when the guy asked why two, the response was something like, "Why not have two? Bc u can!" It was neat to see how much bs they all had to put up with selling a home. It's said again and again that the stuff that will cause someone to not buy a home in the millions, would never even be an issue with a home much less than that! If the toilet is .0000000001 millimeters shorter than a neighbors, or the slant of the drive way is a bit much, or maybe u need less plants, you know all the things that someone who has crazy amounts of money could fix with a snap, they walk away from the home! The best thing, by far, is the people! Yes there's someone everyone will hate, love, envy, laugh at, laugh with, want to punch-u know, our usual characters of a reality show. U definitely know everyone on the cast list and root for them at one point or another. Now the negative: let's start where we left off-the cast list. First the home buyers! We never get to know them. And I think one of the thoughts we all have when we see these insane homes is-WHO BUYS THAT? It would be nice to meet them a little more and hear what they were looking for and why! But the main problem is main cast are a little too well produced and the climax for each season's finale is way too magically resolved next season. When Christine goes after Chishelle at the end and in between season 1-2, it has flashbacks like it was being filmed off season? Weird and confusing. But it seems to be this huge deal that keeps Chishelle from wanting to ever forgive her and honestly I don't think she does, even a year later. It's bizarre. Basically there's a pseudo apology and forgiveness that doesn't really change the behavior but is never talked about till halfway through the next season. Weird. Davina is the obvious villain. Chrishelle is the Victim or the Innocent, Mary Is the teacher's pet, who plays Naivety and wounded very well. Heather is the flaky one that is kind of a filler character, and Maya is the mother hen of the group. She's pretty darn close to perfect in every way and then Amanza is the girl that's the underdog we are all supposed to root for. It just gets weird when their roles start to change and they get out of character. Like when Davina offends Mary's fiancé so much that he looses it with her and she becomes the victim. Romaine is mad at her for almost all of the same things that Chishelle did. Yet Chriselle, our sweet ingenue, never admits her fault in this story. And no one brings that up! I can't stand the way they let their "friend/co-worker" get YELLED at by a man that we didn't even know she knew! I mean he loses it and acts like a baby and no one brings up the fact that he doesn't even have all his facts straight. Yes Davina was wrong, but she wasn't the only one and no one deserves to be treated like that, in public especially. If Romaine would have yelled at Chishelle that way, the whole office would have come unglued!!! They would all have her back. But then again Davina does get weird when she started taking up for Chrishelle's husband who divorced her through TMZ basically. It makes one wonder if Romaine had other things to be upset about but just didn't give the whole back story on screen. Confusing. Another negative is the over production of this "reality show." Ive already pointed out other moments like this but the main one was the over use of camera angles. It's obvious that it's filmed with more than one camera, but there's times it's obvious the scene has been done a couple more times to get certain angles. We shouldn't see all viewpoints without seeing a camera or boom ever! The audience automatically knows that the scene has been done a couple times, at least, to get every angle they wanted. I think we need it to be a little more raw so it feels more fresh and organic. With that being said, the show is perfect if u are looking for something to watch while pampering yourself or u need something light hearted that doesn't require ur full and constant attention and u want a feel good show! This has many positive vibes that help u escape from reality without having to leave ur home. But make sure to put aside any judgmental tendencies we have to think it's all quite ridiculous, and just watch for the hell of it! If u can do that, u will have a good time!

Indian Matchmaking (2020– )

Entertaining and fun show to chill too
28 February 2021
If u are looking for a show to watch and chill with while u are organizing drawers, doing laundry, etc this is a great one to choose! There isn't an intense storyline or any unnecessary drama for effect, it's just a calming but good show. There are some really loveable characters that make you hope they make a follow up episode like the teacher from Austin, Tx. He was so loveable and sweet! I couldn't imagine anyone NOT wanting him in their family! He's overcome so much in life, and is still able to laugh at himself, enjoy other people, and he seems to just take life in stride! He's definitely someone I wish I had as a friend! I'd never set him up with anyone bc if they hurt him I would feel like the devil. Then there are high maintenance, over-the-top, egocentric characters like the chic from Houston. And as a fellow woman, I believe we should always help woman rise whenever possible, but it is hard with this one! She and her mother don't see some of the ridiculous requests they make and the irony in them!for example when she goes on a date with a lawyer, her profession also, she judges him for not just liking the law, but loving it! And then she says she wants someone who travels and is well versed in geographical knowledge and when she asks about the places he has been he makes a list and then she mentions a family member who lives in Dubai and she scoffs at it! She actually finds it odd that someone who wants to vacation there, even though it's one of the top 5 vacation spots in the world, and challenges him when he rebuts her statement about Dubai being a traveler's common goal to visit. But later that poor man who had to endure his date from Houston hell gets set up on a lovely wedding coordinator from Jersey. They hit it off and their laughter proves that this matchmaking skill was imperative in helping them find happiness. This show shows the wide range of matchmaking that is offered for its extremely diverse clientele. It's not just about people who have no choice in getting married and are getting set up together with no concern for the couples happiness. There are couples that were the matchmaking of Day's gone by who share fun stories and their dynamic and love between each other after being married for decades after only meeting on their wedding day! So absurd as this seems to most of us who have been raised with a Western mindset, this show does a beautiful job of showing the beauty in other cultures and other traditions. I think we can definitely say one thing about the health of western marriages and it's failed 50% divorce rate, we have so much to learn!! The he downside of this show is that there isn't a follow up episode once the season is over. It would be nice to checkout Audacious Austin and Not so Humble Houston and see where they are now on their journey for a life partner. I also wish they would have organized it a little different bc it gets confusing-one second the Matchmaker is in India then she is in Chicago! I like that we get to see the differences in Western Indians as compared to Indians in their homeland, but it got confusing how often they were mixed up without a smooth transition! We also don't need as many camera angles on the b roll, bc it just highlights how much of this production is "over produced" keeping it from feeling organic. But that's just being extremely nitpicky! Either way, if u are stuck at home doing laundry or cleaning, this show will hold ur interest without demanding all of it!

Sweet Magnolias (2020– )
7/10
Good, but should be GREAT
2 January 2021
In a time when we are locked in our homes or barely emerging from a widespread epidemic and an election that has done more to separate us than unite us, it is so refreshing to watch people struggle through small town life in Sweet Magnolias. The positive outweigh the negative, but I believe in the concept and cast enough to trust that it just needs to make a few changes and get over it's growing pains to be great! Starting with the positive points about this show is that it's a female led show that revolves around women being or learning how to be independent in their own lives. Another positive point is it's wholesomeness along with its inclusiveness, for example the diverse women that are owning their own business and in some cases business(es), while raising children and not dropping the ball every second or a spastic mess. Teenagers are also depicted in a better light. I like seeing teenagers that aren't jumping from drug to drug & bed to bed. Even though they aren't perfect in this show, they still are quite clean cut and life is a lot messier. But sometimes i don't want to see my mess all up on the screen! I need an escape! I'd like to see happy endings and stories with conflicts that aren't so overwhelming that I'm reliving my own daily stresses. This show does all of those things and more. Not to mention, that it scored with the three female leads! I love the body and color diversity and I saw quite a few female directors being credited as well. The negative i believe is the writing. I don't mind a formulaic show that is predictable, but I want the dialogue to be believable and the journey to the obvious ending to be creative and keep my attention. Honestly the writers should kiss these actors' feet for making their clique of a small southern town lines and hokey idioms and similes somewhat digestible. I started writing down what they were saying to prove my point when I wrote this critique, but stopped bc no one should have to hear these. I am a southern girl from a small town who is about 10 years older than these ladies and never once have I, nor my friends, said anything close to what these people are. If anyone still speaks like that, they are the town elders or people who are trying too hard to imitate us. Seriously! And can we plz get rid of the little kids in these shows that sound like they are a Disney character who got cast in a role in Candy Land and still got kicked out for being so sweet everyone got a cavity. Come on! Ur telling me that a writer's room full of the best they could find can't create a more believable kid? Now, the writer's did get the constant barrage of "bless her hearts" right, I will give them that. But make each character 3-d. I know they are taught that much and if it's the executives that are pushing back, then shame on them. The thing is, I finished the second to last episode at 1am and decided I had to write a critique, and I think I've Only written 2 before this, and none this year, (at least none that I can remember) so it means I have something to say and I hope one of u in charge of something on this show reads it or someone who is making a show with a similar plot line reads this and fixes their writing. At the very least, I hope this does make one of u realize that this show is good. The problem is that it could be GREAT! The formula is there and the ingredients have been bought, now let's just tweak it and give it a fighting chance of having more seasons and a true following. But to do that, the writing staff has to dig deeper and make these characters more believable. To make anyone believable they have to be fallible. So let's wipe off some of the sparkle, not too much bc we do need an escape from everyday life. Then let's either get rid of the youngest daughter, maybe she stays at grandma's a lot until she can have a storyline or become a 3-d character and not Dora the explorer or whoever is on tv now. And now to the character that the amazing and incomparable Brooke Elliot plays. She needs better writing. Hell, she deserves it! I love her character and strength, but she's not likable. Every once in awhile I'll get a glimpse of that fun, caring, and loving person that people reference when talking about her. If her staff loves her so much, like they say, then show her doing something else other than just shouting and being disappointed with them. She does the same to her daughter and we don't see why ! Just bc she is plus size doesn't mean she has to talk like grandma and be the perfect woman! It's almost like the horrible habit Hollywood had (has?) of casting people of color in lead parts but only if they character is beyond approach. The characters have to be so overly perfect that no one can find anything wrong with them. was really funny and had no romantic prospects, or had their MD from an Ivy League school, ie the Sidney Poitier's role in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." And for God's sake, stop making her sound like a grandmother who speaks only in similes and "Bless your Hearts." You have an actress there who can bring everyone to the edge of their seats, use her. Same goes for Heather Headly. Every time it seems like Headly is going to have her storyline grow, for some reason the episode doesn't go any further into that plot line. It just teases it. It's bizarre. The episode where she breaks down because she doesn't have any children seemed as though the writers were afraid of being too realistic or too sad. That moment was such a tease! I could name many more but no ones probably reading all this anyway. In conclusion, I am cheering for this show and hope it gets many more seasons, but it has to make some changes to keep it's audience growing. It's wroth the growing pains and worth the patience to let it find its time slot and audience. After all, the cast of this show alone is too good to give up on! I hope u just don't wait too long!

Peaky Blinders: Black Tuesday (2019)
Season 5, Episode 1
6/10
Weak Season Opener
9 October 2019
This episode lacks the beauty and intelligence that we have all come to associate with Peaky Blinders. The only way such a weak episode is forgivable is if it is laying the groundwork for an amazing season. I'm crossing my fingers that this is the case! The artsy filming that included slow motion walking, and random angles only works if it is used to exchange a scene; however, I feel these choices were To distract the viewer from the lack of great content. This isn't usually the case for Peaky Blinders. I'm hoping that as the season goes on, this beginning episode is a fluke or there were seeds planted that just need time to grow. Either way, I have faith in this show and know that even their worst episodes are better than most shows could ever hope for!!!!

Death Wish...
10 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the most despised episodes in the entire series, and though I can see why people loath it, I also see it as an interesting choice made to show the audience where Mulder would be if Scully was truly gone. Unfortunately the use of vampires in sci-fi rubs the die hard lovers of this genre the wrong way, which is clearly evident in all of the reviews. I see the use of them as more symbolic than clique. Vampires are the undead, unholy, soulless, creatures of the night that can't live in the sun. All of these descriptions can also be used to describe Mulder right now. Without his yin to his yang, he becomes the walking dead. He is just going through the motions of this case trying to find a way to escape from his pain. There is only darkness in him and as the days creep by without Scully, he too moves further away from the light into darkness. Without her he clearly lacks his usual spirit and drive in the case, his spirit can be seen as his soul. As his spirit aka soul disappears, so to does his usual open mindedness that he uses to question every situation and to believe in what society views as abnormal and even impossible. When he is questioning the first suspect he is condescending and disbelieving right from the beginning. This is not like him. He even goes so far as making the man talk with the threat of sunlight. Usually he connects to the characters by believing their version of truth, and being open to it being a reality. This is evident in past episodes when he is talking to Duane Berry. The other officers refuse to "entertain his delusions," whereas Mulder doesn't just entertain them he is truly trying to understand and believe that Berry has had an encounter with Aliens. That version of Mulder is absent during his interrogation. Then when the suspect actually does burn bc of the light, he acknowledges that he made a mistake and does everything he can to rectify it by finding a woman who claims to be vampire and believes in her right away. This brings me to the other part in this episode that really turned off many viewers; he has sex with her. Most people are so adverse to this because they can't fathom how he could be thinking of carnal pleasures when Scully has barely gone missing. However, I think that it makes sense for a couple reasons. First, if the vampires represent him then it's important that to go back to the lore of such creatures. Vampires are usually associated with fulfilling their carnal desires and their base instincts, and sex, in its very nature is that. He is quite possibly doing this also to feel alive, bc without Scully he is dead inside. Secondly, it's also common for people to use sex as a way to escape their painful reality and to have those moments where u feel good. In the movie "High Fidelity" with John Cusack, his girlfriend asks to have sex with him, "because I want to feel something else than this. It's either that or I go home and put my hand in the fire." I personally don't see it as an affront to Scully, though I will admit I don't like seeing him with anyone else but her!! This just goes to show how well the show has done at creating the relationship between them! Clearly we all very invested in it!!! But the writers let the audience down in many other ways in this episode. The myth that vampires can't see their reflection was confusing! The vampire that Mulder interrogates says he has no reflection in mirrors and then we see Mulder holding up something that clearly is his reflection, thus proving he is not a vampire. However, he burns up in the sun and cannot die. I wish they would've decided whether or not vampires were real and what mythology they are going to adhere to in this show. Another example of the writers dropping the ball is questions being raised that are never fully answered. You would think that when the chick sees her ex boyfriend alive and tells Mulder that he would've had some reaction to it. I know a lot is happening then, but there should have been some acknowledgement of him being alive!!! Then she evidently kills the other female vamp, or maybe she doesn't and just stops her for a little bit till she can heal. We will never know. The only reason I can see as to why these things were overlooked is that this episode wasn't about the vampires as much as it was about what parallels one can draw between Mulder and the undead. I choose to look at this episode and see the symbolism instead of the literal aspects and details that were never quite fleshed out. If I do that, then I can see this episode in a better light than most. With that being said, I miss Scully and Mulder working together and I'm glad I don't have to wait to long for that!!

Glacé (2016– )
4/10
So many great elements that are put together wrong...
10 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted so bad to like this!!! I enjoy watching these dark crime dramas that are set in another country and see how different we all are from each other, and yet at the core we all struggle with the same things. It's exciting to also be a part of a plot that allows you to feel as though you could solve it, yet, the truth slides you. It's all very exciting and in a way, this show did have those moments for me. I was able to enjoy the incredible cinematography partnered with an amazing soundtrack. There are many twists and turns that are exciting to be a part of, at least in the beginning. I also enjoy when the characters clearly existed before the show and as I continue to watch it, flashbacks and dialogue draws in the finer details of the person we have just met. The positives of the show: 1.) good acting and even great acting especially by Charles Berling, who plays Martin the detective and Pascal Greggory who plays, Hirtmann, (not a subtle nam) the serial killer currently residing in a psychiatric prison. 2.) The scenery and images are truly breathtaking and relay to the audience that this show explores the isolation and loneliness of this world juxtaposed with the breath taking beauty all around us. This is only one of the many moments of symbolism that this show is saturated in. 3.) The opening credits show a still, yet also 3-D scene of the frozen tundra Aden it's predators and prey. The song which truly brings the opening to a moment of perfection is Hurt originally done by Johnny Cash being sung by a haunting and yet magnificent choir. I never skipped this! This is the one and only time I have ever commented on an opening before, and I have seen great ones, but this was stunning! 4.) The first couple episodes kept me interested by it's exciting twists and turns and reveals. If only that would have continued.

The downfalls: 1.) Not even close to being original. It's Almost like there is an algorithm of what makes a good crime drama and so the creators decided to tick off those boxes without mixing them intro a cohesive and original story. For example, these are the most seen and read about ingredients used in many other shows and books like this: alcoholic detective haunted by what they perceive to be their greatest failure, the ingenue detective who has been forced to work with the beaten down detective, the killer who is diabolically smart and able to run the world from behind bars, the killer also must have a personal connection to the detective, a sexual relationship that threatens them all, a detective who shouldn't be working in the case bc of a personal connection, but alas, hides it successfully for awhile till the SHFM, Sh$t hits the fan moment, revenge driving the detective(s) to the point where they loose their mind and become able to break the law, but it's all being done for the greater good, shall I continue?? Then there were these subplots that were so pointless and convoluted that it made the storyline confusing and boring. Why was Martin, the washed up detective, in an affair with his good friend and fellow officer's wife? They barely explain this and all it does is show the audience that he is someone who self sabotages his life and is in the middle of an existential crisis. In conclusion, it's a crime drama with good ingredients, burned, stall, and overworked.

You can't go wrong with the cast of actors, the characters they so beautifully play, the crazy but believable storyline!! The storyline is out there and had it brrnntrusted with another group of people, I don't know if it would be as easy to buy into, but lucky enough, we don't have to worry about it!!!!! Everything is on point!!! U can read other critiques or plots to get the storylines and details, all u need to know is this is perfect!!!

Rake: Greene v The World (2018)
Season 5, Episode 1
5/10
One Plot, Two Plot, Three Plot too many!
17 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I was so excited to see season 5 pop up on Netflix today! I couldn't wait to see what Cleaver is like as a Senator, but alas, he was still Cleaver from before with no real growth whatsoever. The beginning of the episode was promising and entertaining, if not unsurprising- Waking up to his neighbor's sons playing basketball, he confronts them with his complaints naked, setting off a scandal that is sure to bite him on his naked bum in the near future. I didn't mind this plot set up Bc it is typical of the show and should be interesting to see how he again maneuvers his way out of a sticky situation. He then is at the House of Parliament meeting an important person and manages to accidentally create an incident that leaves the second party in serious trouble. Though this had the good makings of an interesting plot, for some reason it is rushed through and barely addressed. It seemed pointless and a waste of time. Best part about that was the guest star who played Kath from "Kath and Kim." Suddenly he is at dinner with his ex, a pregnant Missy, and Nicole. This is where it gets confusing. Kath (don't know name yet) is ease dropping on their conversations, in such a way that one would think it is going to play a major role in this episode. But it doesn't. Instead the next time Missy is on screen, she already has the baby and somehow months have passed. The next plot revolves around a possible terrorist attack at the House of Parliament, which creates turmoil for the arrival of an old friend of Cleaver's who is now Secretary of State for the US. Suddenly we find out that the American is in search for Greene so that they can "party like it's 1999." I assume that this many plots shoved into the opening of season 5 is setting up the entire series. Fingers crossed! I gave it 5 stars because the actors are amazing, Cleaver's one liners and glib remarks are still entertaining, and the fact that the show hasn't let me down before. But hopefully there is growth in the characters and we will see cleaver become the good guy that lurks underneath his Peter Pan persona and his ex will finally have a storyline that is worthy of the independent woman that she was in seasons past. Possibly his son will be the Man cleaver would have been had he not become so jaded and lacking a moral compass, and Missy and the baby will have a purpose independent of time fillers.

Season 2, Episode 4

"Down" in more ways than one...
25 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Slow down, going down, feeling down, downward spiral, all these phrases embody this episode perfectly! The aptly named "Down" episode represents its name throughout the entire 45 mins. This episode revolves around only a handful of the characters that we usually see. Instead it follows Jesse's plunge downward into desperation, Walter and Skylar's descent into unhappiness, and even shows their son losing confidence and growing anger toward's his father as he tries driving. Jesse has been kicked out by his parents and left with only $80 after the DEA confiscates his money. Having no where to go, he reaches out to friends for a place to stay only to be turned down repeatedly. When he asks Walter for half of Walter's share, Jesse becomes the target of Walter's frustrations. Jesse feels like he has no other options than to steal back his RV without settling his debts, and shows up at Walter's house. Of course, neither one of them is having a good day, and as a result Walter accuses him of squandering the money on personal drug use. His anger knows no bounds as he yells horrible things To destroy any hope that Jesse had of feeing better, Walter attacks him by exposing his weaknesses and trampling on his self self with by tearing him down one piece at a time. Jesse goes from being kicked down to being beaten down. Walter is also spiraling down and losing any hope for reconciliation between him and Skylar. His wife knows bout the second phone and her anger has manifested into quite hatred. She ignores him and starts giving him the same treatment he has been giving her. She refuses to talk to him and leaves constantly with no explanation. Finally Walter has enough and begs her to talk to him. Be careful what u wish for, comes in mind here. She begs him to tell her what is going on, but of course, there is no way for him to come clean. With that another relationship starts circling the drain. This episode is very different from the others in this season. There is no action packed drama and instead of being plot focused, it is intirely character and conflict driven. Just like the title, this episode slowed down to a crawl. Though I would rather more nail biting action mixed with drama suspense, I appreciate why this was needed. Everything has been so hectic and fast paced, it was time to stop and see the consequences of Walter & jesse's actions. It definitely creates anticipation for the next episode. I can't wsit to see where they all go from here and how in the world Walter and Skylar are going to weather this storm with so many secrets anchoring them in pain.

Great Contestants!!!
8 July 2018
This is a makeover or as they often call it, a "make-under" show. If u are looking for a fun, silly show to pass time, this is it. I like the people who they pick to get on the show. It's exciting to see the changes in them. The hosts can be cheesy at times, but that's par for the course. I enjoy the makeup tips and hair tips given by them. The clothes tips are ones I have heard before from other shows, but she does a good job listening to the person getting a makeover, while still pushing the edge and using her expertise. Good show!!!

Scandal: The Lawn Chair (2015)
Season 4, Episode 14

Way to go Scandal!!!
16 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is a hard one for white Americans to watch. I know Bc I am a part of that majority. It is also hard when America is having to ask the very tough question, why are young black unarmed men dying at the hands of police so often? And I often t is a white cop. It is especially hard for me, as a spouse to a police officer myself. People in the comments are upset that this episode touched so close to home and made people uncomfortable, but in doing so, it creates a dialogue full of powerful opinions. I watch scandal on Netflix, therefore, I binge watch it. I have enjoyed I for so many reasons, and one of those is Bc it's an escape. I am able to watch a drama unfold in front of me that doesn't reflect my own life. Sometimes I want he shows I want to be real, and other times, I want an escape! This episode did not let me escape. It was real. Olivia has just come back from being held captive and is fighting how to function in her everyday life, while living the horrors of the past few weeks (week, time is unclear here) and trying to hide from the pain. She gets called in by the DC Metro Police to handle a situation involving a young black man, Brandon Parker, being shot by a white police officer. The community starts to gather around and their anger grows. While this is happening Brandon's dad, Clarence, points a shotgun and the men who are trying investigate the shooting. The dad is adamant that the police force that wrongly killed his son, shouldn't be the one that handles the investigation. While Pope and Associates are investigating the shooting, the President and Beane are trying to find a replacement for the VP. Cyrus picks a candidate that fulfills the promise that President Grant made to the US while he was running for office-running the government a different way, and not maintaining the status quo. While they are trying to find someone who can represent a minority, Olivia is fighting for the minority. The only true negative I personally found was that they opened up a huge topic only to have it miraculously come together in the last 5 mins. But, such is episodic television! Great show and worth the watch!!!

The new TV (used to be book) show to bring to the beach!
11 June 2018
This is not a deep, thought provoking, realistic, thoroughly relatable series. But I like it! Before I go into the positives and why I continued watching it after r adding the horrible reviews, and why most people watch it as well, let me touch base on what u don't need to watch it for- reality! What u do need to watch it for-escapism entertainment! In all honesty the plot lacks depth and the characters are so unaware of a world outside of themselves, middle class-can't even touch lower class, America. I could go on and on about the fact that these women are mostly these independent, sexy, older, life after divorce, social conscious, business savvy women, when in reality they only excel at one of those descriptors-sexy. They get close on business savvy, but once u are aware of their job titles, there isn't any real working going on for the most part. Example, a partner in a law firm that gets billionaires wouldn't have that much time and energy to have such an engaging social life.. at least not without some type of speed addiction. But, I didn't watch this for anything but entertainment and escape. And if that's what ur looking for, if accomplishes that in spades!!!the eye candy offered for all specificities is covered!!! It's got color, beauty, hot men and women, etc! The storylines are relatable on the surface and then when u realize that they have kids and yet manage to never be home, jobs but never work, wardrobes that know no budget, u realize, it's not real for most of us. But I who wants that always??? The characters are likable and u do cheer for them when they win and hope for them when they fail! The acting is good and the actors sale every scene! So figure out what kind of show u want and if u are looking for a sexy life beyond the life we all live everyday, this is a great show! And fun! It's really fun to watch!!! Enjoy a summer binge!!!

Can't stop laughing, sympthazing, and watching!
9 June 2018
My kids are teenagers and though I started watching Bc a friend recommended it, I thought I would be over it, not so! Every parent, even person, can relate to the truths of life's greatest gifts, moments, etc, not feeling like a great all the time! This is done very cleverly, with tons of heart, and just the right mixture of humor and reality. I suggest u try the first episode and watch how quickly you start bingeing it and counting the days for the next season!

Beautiful settings, Historic Homes, Enertaining Show!!
6 April 2018
This is a wonderful design show! I love all of the design shows, but what is great about this is the competitive aspect and the designers are amateurs. They are learning with u and yet bringing things to the table that are worthy of much more experience. It is also fun Bc the settings alone are its own character! The narrator is an architecture Historian and he teaches u about these gorgeous areas, full of charm and history, that these designers are competing in! Each episode starts off with amateur designers who are competing with each other to make it to the semifinals and then the finals, and win. The designers get a brief from the client, create a presentation board for the owners to approve, and then have three days and £1000 to make it work! As they are completing the rooms, they are given random challenges, give interviews, and talk about the process. The format of the show is light, fun, and very informative! The two hosts are great! They offer wonderful insight, keep the pace going, and aren't there just to complain or add stress to the designers! It's a great watch!
