Peter Jackson - You've done it AGAIN.
8 February 2006
I think people are starting to get the idea, so I'm not going to go over what 99% of the fellow reviewers have said. This is a movie that will make you laugh, cry, wonder, and have you on the edge of your seat. No other movie will do this to you. While some may have thought Peter Jackson may have been crazy to remake a superb original, he just delved deeper into the relationship between Ann Darrow and Kong. Great performances from Watts, Brody(as always) and even Jack Black as sleazy filmmaker Carl Denham. I thought him being cast would be a bad step. How wrong was I? This is, in my eyes - the greatest love story of all time. 3 Hours of pure delight. Peter - We ain't worthy. But please... carry on..

This film made me cry... not in a good intentional way
21 January 2006
I saw this film without any hype surrounding it so my expectations were neutral... watching the film I felt a mixture of emotion; sadness, anger and frustration. Sandness - I could not get a refund on this movie, anger - realising I could not get a refund on this movie and frustration - not being able to do anything to get the 90 minutes of my life back.

This film is so horribly dull and full of clichés and cheap shot jokes that it made me feel ill to sit through it. I saw this film with Hous of a 1000 corpses (saw this first) and I wanted to stab the person who said this was a fun/funny/gory/action/anything (delete where applicable). In fact, the person who recommended this freaking bore-fest to me is no longer a close friend or friend at all. This film made me want to hit people. Wow it had a gay joke - that completely describes all of the youth of today (none at all are mature no...) and the pancakes joke...wow...just wow... worst script ever, worst director and worst film.

I wish I was exagerrating. This film was a complete chore to sit through. There's no gore, nothing to make me wince, cringe or feel uncomfortable - AT ALL.

The only thing that made me cringe about this film would be having to admit one day to people that I watched this film.

This film has the worst humour, horror, cast and effects as well as some unforgiving continuity and in general the BIGGEST letdown in a film I've seen in years. There's nothing good about this and if I could give this less than a 1 I would. So much less.

Being A West Ham Fan - I wasn't impressed.
15 January 2006
I'm a big fan of The Football Factory, a superior movie about football hooligans, released a year or so earlier. Green Street doesn't even come close. For one, all the cast in TFF were proper Cockneys. London Boys. Danny Dyer is cockney through and through. Charlie Hunnan - your accent was awful. Don't get me wrong - you can act, but my god, your accent was all over the place. It really affects the authencity of the movie. But still, Green Street has all the typical fights, coarse swearing and beer swilling that TFF had, and its not so terrible you don't enjoy the scuffles. But for me it just seemed in parts completely improbable. The ending for starters...

***SPOILERS***

I didn't realise Bank was running distance from the Docklands... How does Claire Forlani know where the big fight occurs? Why does everyone STOP fighting once Pete is killed by Tommy? Wasn't that the point?

Yeah, there's loads more I could pick at. Rent it, you might enjoy it more than me.

Just Dire...
17 December 2005
I'm not going to go into great detail about this, but this is a terrible movie. Remove the intelligent satire and add a completely shoddy script, then make the movie drag past two hours so you get bored an hour into it. You'll wonder where they went with the references to America, and obviously gives an opinion on the Iraq war, it seemed a cheap remark. The original was smart, brutal and even had moments of humour. It was exciting to the end. BR2 has NOTHING remotely close - even the violence was predictable. Just forget this movie exists, it WILL pain you to watch it. What a waste. A real mess. You've been warned.
