Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
What is the deal with all the hate?
I keep seeing all of these posts talking about how the Night King should have been the big bad.
Do your research. George R.R. Martin has said on multiple occasions that his biggest complaint about J. R. R. Tolkien's writing (his biggest inspiration) was that all the "good characters " teamed up against the pure evil. Martin has stated time and time again he likes grey characters, human characters who have motives and flaws but none of whom are truly evil. Cersei was always destined to be the final battle. It was pretty easy to decide the Night King was evil and to team up against him but the political game in Westeros is harder to decipher.
After all, when you play the Games of Thrones, you win or you die.
The Walking Dead: The Game - Season 3 (2016)
Loved Every Minute
By far my favorite season so far! You really see how far clementine has come from those first moments as a scared girl in a tree house in season 1, and the next cast of characters were all developed and interesting as well.
The Kissing Booth (2018)
Cute High School Trope Fest
If you go into this movie thinking it's anything more than a cheesy, predictable high school love story with goofy moments you will be sadly disappointed; however, it is a very good movie for what it is. Yes, Noah is a bit controlling to begin with BUT honestly he was defending her in most cases. I mean if some guy grabbed your crush/almost little sister's ass/pussy YOUD FIGHT A DUDE TOO. Or at least I hope you would. I feel like that is a message girls don't hear enough- it's always up to the girl to report sexual harassment- if other people see it they have a DUTY TO STOP IT TOO. Blissful ignorance is why it's taken this long to hear about Weinstein, Spacey, and everyone else involved in #metoo! For this point alone, I award the movie points- which I deduct for the principle giving the same punishment for dress code infractions and sexual assault. Like wtf?
Either way it's a decent film, and is good for at least one watch.
Ready Player One (2018)
Good Movie Based on a Great Book
*******SPOILERS*******
So let me start by saying me and my husband both read the book and have the same opinion. The movie is a really good movie: the acting is good, the visuals and cgi are amazing, and the soundtrack is good; however, if you are going into the movie after reading the book prepare to be a little disappointed. The key elements from the novel are there, but they changed the location of every key and took out the fact that the gates themselves are tests. As soon as the high five get a key, they immediately get another clue.
I feel like the amount of work it took to win the contest in the book was just glazed over in the movie.
The movie also started with an established relationship with everyone in the group instead of building it within the movie. In the book the high five have to learn they can trust each other, and it even takes Daito's death in real life to bring them together against Sorrento. They completely removed his death from the movie.
And speaking of Sorrento, the movie version is a complete pussy compared to the novel. He hides behind his assistant and has her do his dirty work. In the book, he is truly evil and tries his best to kill all of the kids in the real world.
The movie is really really good, but I was a biased party and that's why I couldn't give it more than a 7.
I believe everyone should give this movie a try, and that you will enjoy the movie whether you've read the book or not.
