The Green Knight (2021)

This is about a bumbling buffoon walking through the forest

Boring movie. The background music and scenery was good so I had high hopes for the other elements but it ended up a disappointment. There were way too many long, drawn out scenes of him walking through the forest.

I couldn't wrap my mind around how the nephew was supposed to be brave going out into the wilderness yet he was always frightened and incapable of defending himself. He was a bumbling buffoon. And he barely had any lines so that added to the boring factor.

There were no empowering scenes. You were constantly waiting for something to happen. The scenery was great however the fact remains you need more than that to make something watchable. Very little action in this movie, only a couple interesting scenes here and there and that's about it. I really thought some kind of romance was going to happen with him and the beautiful lady he met at the castle but nope! It ended up kind of weird and likely kind of gross to some viewers.

Interstellar (2014)

A low energy drama

I believe it's intended for certain people, like the types who are amazed by those supernatural genres like ghost hunting shows (which are all truly garbage & could be written by an idiot) & horror movies based on people being possessed by demons. Despite the worst acting and scripts you can find anywhere, they're pulled into these garbage movies and TV shows. And that's cool because we're all entitled to watch whatever we want. These are the types of people Interstellar was written for. I prefer something different, like something that had at least a little bit of thought put into the script. I do enjoy sci-fi movies just not ones written this badly.

There's hardly any action in the movie. It's mostly a drama. The characters use a ton of technical discussion to make it sound interesting but it's just bad. They explain the wormhole dimensional theory by folding a piece of paper in half and punching a pencil through the two halves. The viewers are supposed to believe this and be pulled into the movie. I'm not one of those viewers. The whole idea was lame to me. Another comical thing is that somehow they're able to communicate with the dimension they just left. As the people in their home world are aging rapidly, somehow they're able to communicate with them with short videos. And Matthew McConaughey's character is crying as he's watching videos of his aging children, one of whom has a child of his own now. I believe you have to truly believe in this crap wormhole multi-dimensional reality theory to like it.

There was just too much nonsense in this movie. Another example is when the giant wave was about to send the ship flying. Out of nowhere the female astronaut got stuck underneath something and couldn't make it back to the ship. At the same time another astronaut was about to walk into the ship to save himself but he just stood there staring at this giant wave coming at him. It was borderline stupid. Also when the wave finally picked up the ship it hardly sent the ship flying. The wave was about a half mile tall. Some destruction should have occurred! They showed a scene from inside the ship where it rolled once and that was about it. Nobody got hurt. Just bad acting. The ship gracefully made its way to the calm side of the wave. It's as if they didn't have the special effects capability in their studio to make it exciting for the viewer.

The Little Things (2021)

Almost boring with a disappointing cliffhanger ending

I watched this movie hoping for a celebration when they found the killer. This movie was filled with a bunch of repeated detective work of two cops trying to pin multiple murders on somebody with no evidence that he did it. It was somewhat interesting with Deke's (Denzel Washington) flashbacks. Those flashbacks made this movie only somewhat interesting. There really weren't any truly memorable scenes, with just a handful of suspenseful moments. It almost got boring watching these two cops follow their suspect around during all hours of the day.

It's as if the writers were simply trying something different without any concern of whether or not the viewers enjoyed it. I tried to use my imagination to enjoy the movie but the cliffhanger at the end was a disappointment. They could have stopped this movie at the very middle and I would have still only given it four stars.

Memento (2000)

Mediocre mystery

I'm not sure if this is considered a mystery or a drama. Everything was a mystery to Lenny because he had memory loss. Maybe I considered it mediocre because the style this movie was written & directed is dated. After all this is a 23-year-old movie. If you don't think you'll enjoy a movie whose scenes are filmed in reverse order of events then avoid this movie. To me it was just too much. Not a total waste of time, just a disappointment since the ratings didn't equate to my opinion of what a good movie should be.

Not much action. There are a few scenes with action however there are only a few seconds of excitement at a time. Teddy G., the guy helping Lenny with his memory loss, is a character whose lines are so intense and loud that it gets kind of uncomfortable to listen to him.

I feel the reverse order style would have worked if it wasn't the entire duration of the film. It kind of got old three quarters of the way through.

The Voices (2014)

Reynolds' lowest budget movie to date

I'm not sure how this even made it into production considering the crappy script and lack of interesting or exciting scenes. This movie was made for a certain type of people and I'm obviously not one of them, even though I like a variety of genres.

I'm sure the crappy musical skit at the end was an embarrassment to all of the actors forced to take part in it.

I kind of feel bad for all of the actors that took part in this movie. I'd like to see some of the interviews of them after they saw how it turned out.

Seriously one of the worst movies I've seen in my life even though there were some pretty good actors in this movie but unfortunately the script was just horrible.

Babylon (I) (2022)

A bunch of random, pointless shenanigans

Too many times the characters were overdramatic or there was more yelling & talking than action. This is nothing more than a bunch of intoxicated adults occasionally making bad choices. It was like going to the bar scene watching people at closing time get silly. The writers had decent ideas however someone should have ran them by other skilled writers before putting them in the final script to make it interesting to the viewer.

Diego Calva had very few lines in the first half of the movie which made it kind of weird. He barely spoke. I didn't understand it. He did more staring than talking.

Way too many scene fillers in this movie! A lot of scenes started out great then drug on too long.

The last half of the movie showed Margot Robbie's character Nellie Leroy falling apart from her coke and gambling addiction. It was a pretty dumb script. The whole movie seemed like they didn't even try to put pieces together to make it worth watching. Yeah there was a lot of excitement and fast action scenes however it all seemed random and pointless!

Violent Night (2022)

Terrible script 😡

This movie had so much potential. The characters' lines were just horrible! Very little thought was put in to the script. This movie was way worse than expected because of this.

I was hoping Santa would have some unique, memorable personality. His lines were so short and weak. Just when action would start picking up they would change the momentum to something else. For instance when Santa made a snowball with his really strong fist and threw it at a bad guy, simply hit him in the face and the bad guy fell-that was it! The director didn't attempt to capitalize on any particular action scene. I mean that's what directors typically do, when they get positive feedback from a scene they roll with it. Not this director unfortunately. And that makes this movie hard to watch.

Bullet Train (2022)

How much excitement can happen on a train?

This wasn't a bad movie however they definitely ran out of wow factors. Just goes to show you there's only so much action that can take place on a train and they ran out of ideas. The scripts were just okay. I say just okay because the banter between the duo assassins was full of mumblings and was difficult to understand. They certainly didn't have the best writers for this movie. I don't understand why directors like to throw in a British actor with such a horrible accent that makes it difficult to know what they're saying. That's a clear indicator they're low on creativity and just need some element to fill up the space. I feel they want viewers to take the focus off the boring movie and try to decipher what the character is saying. This is another movie whose writers decided to throw in an extremely fake scenario. It brought this movie to the level of stupidity for a while. How does a train continue to speed up even after ripping out the computer that controls it? And the part where the two trains collided was just as dumb. How does one train go airborne while the other one stays on the track?? Thankfully there were scenes that didn't involve the train so that picked up the pace and energy. Despite not having the best writers it's still better than 90% of the other crap on the red N.

Slumberland (2022)

A perfect 10! A must watch for all ages.

My first perfect 10 review in years. What an amazing movie! Actually I should say journey because this film makes you feel like you're part of it because you'll find a real connection with at least a couple characters in this movie if not all. The special effects, including the giant geese they rode, were fantastic. Whether or not you've had a loss like this young girl experienced, you'll be reeled in and it will be hard to take your eyes off the TV. There is so much creativity I was just in awe. If you're looking for a movie that will make you forget about all of your worries in life for a couple hours this is it-nothing else will matter. You'll be able to sit back and be part of an adventure. I'm not sure how the writers and directors did it but I could not find one scene that could have been better. They worked hard to make sure the entire score was top-notch entertainment. To top this off it ended with a heartwarming message at the end.

Sword of Trust (2019)

The most boring movie anywhere right now

What genre was this intended to be? There was nothing witty, funny or worth remembering in this movie. It's just a bunch of emotionless people speaking their lines. Don't be thinking any of these lines were even the slightest bit humorous. This movie wasn't intended to be funny, but to put out a message of some sort that I haven't figured out yet and I'm sure I never will. I was thinking maybe the group would form a bond and there would be some message at the end but no! Everybody went their separate way! There wasn't even a formal goodbye, and within seconds at the end everybody just went on their way. Holy cow man, how did this get a six star rating?? I guess friends of the cast and crew gave these unbelievable reviews. What's laughable is the higher rating reviews that are filled with paragraphs and paragraphs trying to convince you it's worth watching. Don't fall for it. You've got better things to do, like watch any random DVD off your shelf. I can't believe I watched this.

Margin Call (2011)

The idea, not this movie, is interesting

One of the most boring and uneventful movies! This movie drug on and on. I like all types of movies however this one was really overhyped. This was basically a bunch of rich people getting upset because their company was going bankrupt. Oh boo hoo. Doom and gloom was all over. I'm not sure why they picked such well-known actors when literally anybody could have played these roles.

What a Sci-Fi mythological based movie should be!

Since you know what you're getting into there's no reason to give this a bad rating. The special effects are great and the action is non-stop. What are people looking for when they give this a bad rating?? I'm guessing they're looking for unicorns... Lots and lots of unicorns. And they're expecting those unicorns to come alive and bring them happiness in life. If you're not expecting unicorns to take part in your everyday life then I guarantee you'll like this movie.

Observe and Report (2009)

Some of the most insane scenes in any movie!

Despite the corniness throughout the movie some of the scenes are some of the most outrageous and funny I've ever seen! Yes there was a lot of corniness throughout the movie however the acting was at least decent, and at times pretty good. The fact there was action throughout the entire movie makes this a must see.

Paul (2011)

Kind of Cheesy

Not the worst script but nowhere near a really good one. The director had so many opportunities to make at least one scene spectacular but that never happened. I expected more comedy. There were some decent one liners, that's about it. It wasn't terribly lame and there was decent action throughout the duration of the movie. I wanted to give it five and a half stars but that's not an option so I gave it six stars mainly for not being a boring movie.

Safe House (2012)

Unbelievable Action Scenes Made Me Stop Watching

Action scenes are supposed to be at least SOMEWHAT believable. Sure there's lots of action however let me give you an example of why this was a poorly written movie:

So he (Ryan Reynolds) is at a stadium surrounded by thousands of people watching a soccer game with a gun pointed at the bad guy (Denzel) just so Reynolds can find a locker with a cell phone when he SHOULD have just left Denzel in the dang car, like he did in a previous scene. So of course Denzel claims he's being kidnapped, then Denzel gets away even though he's cuffed and escorted by police officers, and of course Reynolds magically found him in less than a minute at this huge stadium. Nothing in the whole stadium scene was believable. I quit watching after this scene.

I already had my doubts about this movie when Reynolds escaped the breached safe house with Denzel in the trunk. The bad guys perforated the car they were in with hundreds of bullets yet neither one of them got hit. So according to this movie just lower your head when fully automatic weapons are shooting at you and you'll be fine.

Always Be My Maybe (2019)

Duuuude... this was pretty cool!

This romance comedy was so spot on! Nothing too weird or too obnoxious or too cliche. The writers and directors and actors simply did a fantastic job! I don't think I've ever rated a movie a 9 until now!

I can't believe the amount of time between action in this movie. The ending was horrible! Nothing good happened! I was going to give this movie a four but I'm giving it a three now that I put more thought into it!

What a confused mess of editing, effects etc

Seems like high schoolers with ADHD did the editing, directing and special effects. If that's the premise we started with then I would give a thumbs up to this movie however we're talking established actors that took part in this dumpster fire of an alien movie! Seriously though-I wouldn't call anything here special effects. Just when you thought there was going to be a special effect in this movie the scene ended. Holy cow did they run out of memory in their video recorder? Run away from this movie regardless how far into it you've already watched-absolutely nothing in this movie is worth a second more of your time!!

Calm with Horses (2019)

This is a drama. There's hardly any action. It was pointless. I don't think anyone under 60 would like this movie. If you want something boring to do then watch this. I expected him to get payback on the gangsters he was working for but nope. Maybe this movie was meant to be a practical joke.

It seems kind of slow moving but somehow they keep it interesting. It really makes you think about good and evil and we need more movies that have an impact on us like this one. I'm not sure if this was drama or action or what but it was a pretty good story and definitely worth watching.

Another one of those movies with a stupid ending-nothing exciting even though you waited for a while for something to happen. The whole movie was full of flawed scenes. Are directors just not trying anymore?

Lackluster scenes, seems like it was made for TV

Did they really have to make the helicopter explode because it landed on the ground too fast after getting shot twice?? And why did the helicopter sit there hovering after getting shot from a 50 caliber rifle while calling for help? I don't care if you are trained or not, when you get shot by something you don't sit there and wait for another bullet to hit you! I forgot how fake some movies were 17 years ago. That was 70 minutes into the movie. Before this it was a pretty good movie. This and the remaining 40 minutes was just hard to watch. I really couldn't believe how bad the movie degraded at this point. It was a great concept. However even the simplest of minds have great concepts from time to time however it takes a good director to put it together properly. The director & writers didn't have their priorities straight.
