Ico (2001 Video Game)
Breathtaken
5 May 2006
If you like shooting or killing with the pleasure of blood splattering you're screen, then you're looking at the wrong game. Ico might of been an early game for PS2 but it's still the top game in my list (and indeed many other players.) The two main characters Ico and Yorda are brilliantly designed and you don't need English audio to understand the strong friendship between them. The music is soft and touching. Puzzles are very good. Not you're basic Lara Croft Tomb Raider stuff but REAL puzzles that are complex even if you re-play the game. But the best bit...the graphics. The scenery is so beautiful it's better than life itself. For an early game, the graphics still out-beat most scenery on PS2 games. You'll find you're self absorbed in a beautiful mystical world as you fight shadows, solve puzzles and find you're way to freedom.

Jak X: Combat Racing (2005 Video Game)
Not you're usual Sunday drive.
5 January 2006
Jak hits the streets yet again with his furry friend Daxter but this time with a twist. You still have fun shooting you're enemies and earning precursor orbs but this time you do this while driving around trying to win first place. But it's not all straight forward racing. Sometimes it's a race to gain the highest amount of points before time runs out or shoot you're opponents before they shot you and much, much more. Though you start off with two cars, you can earn more cars as you progress through the game and change the style and colour of your cars. There are a few new characters in this game and they slip in fine with the older characters. The story line is good enough and easy to understand. The graphics however, have to be the best. There's nothing more satisfying than watching you're opponents being shot up in the air and being shot to pieces! Overall, this is a must for and Jak fans but as I said before it is different from the previous games so you may or may not be let down by this game.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (2005 Video Game)
Sly steals the show again.
25 November 2005
Funny, witty, hilarious cartoon characters (old and new), wicked cut-scenes, fantastic missions...and of course, a ton of treasure to steal! What more could you ask for in a game? Sly hits the charts for the third (and possibly last) time. The game keeps getting better with new mini-games and new two player mode. More characters are added this time so you get more choice to beat up guards! In fact, the only disadvantage to playing Sly 3:Honer Among Thieves is the (also new) 3-D. It isn't really that great and you only get one pair of 3-D glasses which is crap if you are playing a two player game.

Apart from that minor drawback, there is no reason you should go and get this game quick before someone else does!

Shadow of Rome (2005 Video Game)
Loving It!
29 June 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Bascily, the game is split into two parts. Agrippa is a bear of a man trying to free his father who has been arrested for Julius Ceaser's murder. But to do that he has to enter the games as a gladiator and must defeat all his opponents, from big guys with maces to wimpy women with fire arrows and blood-thirsty tigers to killer elephants. (Yes you actually have to fight even elephants in this game! Trust me, I find animals are much better fighters than warriors.) Also another good bit is Agrippa can cut arms clean off and chop people in half, though for people who fell sick at this can turn this effect off. While Agrippa has a hellish time battling, his best friend Octavisnus (who is also Ceaser's nephew) sneaks around Rome trying to find out who is the real murder of Ceaser. He has to use whatever he can find such as vases and slippy banana skins to knock out his enemies. (You'll love the banana skin part!) Octavisnus must keep hidden and keep changing his costume to 'blend in' with the crowd. The one thing I didn't really like about this game was how much blood was in it but for anyone who can't stand a lot of blood is given the choice to take it off at the beginning of the game, making it a hell of lot less violent. The game starts slow but as it goes on it gets much better. You get really attached to your characters and I was so mad when I found out that some maddo wanted to kill Octavisnus. (I won't say who it is as I have spoiled enough but you get to beat the crap out of the killer, as well as some other cool bosses. Trust me, revenge has never been sweeter!) Overall mark: 9/10 (the producers went a little over the top by putting blood everywhere.)

Doctor Who (2005–2022)
The Doctor Rocks
20 June 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I have never actually seen any of the previous "Doctor Who" series so when I heard that a new one was made I wasn't really that bothered. But one Saturday I was so bored I sat down and watched the first episode. And I'm so glad I did. I got so into the adventures and couldn't wait for the next one to come on. Some episodes were a bit dull but the episode with the child in WW2 asking for it's 'Mummy' was so catching I felt so involved in the story. The last episode was touching (although I'm still confused about the 'BADWOLF' name. What was it's purpose?) Though I haven't seen the other Doctor Who's, I think Christopher Eccleston definitely beats them all. Even Billie Pyper wasn't too bad as his assistant. When the DVD set comes out I would definitely buy it and watch all the episodes one free Saturday. (What else you are you gonna do?)

Final Fantasy VII (1997 Video Game)
Has to be the Best Final Fantasy ever!
18 June 2005
I don't think there is a single person who has played Final Fantasy VII only once. Though the story is straight forward enough to keep you informed there are many extras to play while playing the game. Also it's a touching game as one of the main character dies. As the game makes you the gamer feel involved in this, you can't help but feel angry at this and it makes you determind to go and beat up the bad guys for revenge. (Revenge is sweet!) This game makes you feel involved which most Final Fantasy fail to do. Also, there are some really cool characters (as well as some very strange characters) that you just have to love. Even the bad guys rocks!
