Sword Art Online (2012– )

Has a good Start but quickly goes downhill

My experience with this anime has been a frustrating one, i was told by a few people that is was really good so i was mildly excited and it was a new anime about playing a video game which is one of my favorite activities to do. Upon watching the 1st episode i was excited as the series showed promise as it set up a great looking world and some interesting characters, but then at the end of the episode every player starts calling Kirito a Beater since for some reason beta testing = cheating. This is where the problem that probably annoys me the most comes in, its clear the maker doesn't really understand how video games work and it makes me sad to see disfigured and people saying its a good video game anime, being a beta tester doesn't mean your a cheater it doesn't make any sense heck beta testers should be leaders for knowing some ins and outs of the game while the stakes are high as death, they essentially shun the people at the game who has experience which makes no sense. Then Kirito starts breaking the rules of the games all the time specifically during the (horribly under developed) main villain fights. One of which he comes back to life which completely goes against one of the main premises of the show.Then there is stuff like only kirito has the ability to wield for no real reason, this a mmorpg everyone can have the same skill if classes are involved but making it randomly for 1 person is kinda lame (season 2 dual wielding is even worse where he was just alternating one handed skills despite holding 2 swords and using them at the same time, also the fight with the season 2 villain death gun doesn't make sense Kirito gets stabbed repeatedly by one of the strongest and unique weapons in the games and just 1 shots the villain with his starting weapon. Its sad to see video games being poorly represented in this anime as it should follow the logic of a video game. The characters start out interesting but quickly take a turn for the worse, the episodic nature of the 1st season is basically a waifu hunt for our mc, it took me around episode 4 to notice and it only got worse. Characters aren't able to be developed in 1 episode enough to give them any emotional attachment unlike space dandy which does this concept right. Basically every girl falls for kirito and it gets annoying even asuna is reduced to eye candy later after having a really good introduction, but its just so sudden it doesn't show any chemistry off between the characters other than kirito is cool and here is his harem so pick your favorite. It saddens me that people compare this anime to far superior anime, but i will say the animation is amazing and so is the soundtrack environments are beautiful and is definitely the best part of the show. Unless you like to watch shows ironically (i do and i cant stand this show) i wouldn't recommend this to any one unless you don't care for plot as all as other shows have far better storytelling and world building.

Rick and Morty: Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate (2015) Season 2, Episode 8

Doesn't deserve all the hate but is a hiccup

The outcry from fans on this episode is very understandable, especially since they risked doing basically a rehash of an old episode (hence the name tempting fate), but by no means is it bad or terrible, its just newer and older episodes are easily 10/10 quality so when we get something around 8 people think its "bad" I do admit the plot with the TV is hit or miss some of the shorts fall flat like the personal space guy and the twerking at the title card. on the other side some were actually quite good like the jay Micheal vincent and the how its done, but its still not the highlight of the episode. On the other side of the plot i find the plot with Jerry is a great satire of modern societies fixation of sex. how many people in jerry's position would be willing to give up their "manhood" in order to save a very important dying man that you don't know. Also the pay off in this episode is great it was funny and satisfying.

Rick and Morty (2013– )

A Master Piece of Animation (very,very,very minor spoilers)

It may seem strange that the guy who voices lemongrab in adventure time has improved his animation and writing skills from the time when he wrote crude shorts on Channel 101. As the second season has come to an end i can definitely say this may be one of the best shows ever produced. This show has a knack for comedy in a way that many shows just fail to create, and to throw it if something in this show changes, it stays that way. Unlike many other comedies that are popular this has a coherent overlying plot that is coming to be a great tale (season finale of season 2 definitely shows this) As other reviews have said this show follows an A and B plot for almost every episode, but both matter and develop the all the characters involved the episode with tiny rick and has rick being a teenager with his grand kids while the parents are off at marriage counseling. Both plots expand greatly on the characters and interactions that happen and they stay that way, no retcons a la family guy style. I cant really even put into words how good this show is and it must be experienced to really understand why i love it so much, and it also really saddens me that someone took the time to give 1 out 10 on a such a well crafted show, and i would like everyone to make up the slack that this review put on this show by writing their own reviews and rating so a hate review doesn't pull this shows score down from what it deserves

Space Dandy (2014)

This show is extremely mind blowing

I don't even know where to start with this show. People may complain about the sexualism and the plot that seems non-existent but i can confirm that Space Dandy as a whole is incredible. most of the low scoring reviews haven't even watched through the 1st season, as the shows goes on there is development with the female characters and Adele in ep 5 is a great female character. I don't want to give any spoilers out because that would ruin the awesome ending, but at 1st i didn't really know what to think of this show at first but as the show goes on it only gets better with a very satisfying climax and end. I would also recommend the English version i personally feel that the actor for dandy is better and i prefer the narrator in the English version. In the end the show is very Dandy with a beautifully vibrant art style, amazing story, and great characters i highly recommend watching this show all the way through it will be an Dandy adventure.
