Below par acting and lousy choice of weapons for the era. A German soldier held an AR style rifle and Roberts brandished a SIG handgun! Puhleeeeeeze...

Violence Fest

Lame plot, average to mediocre acting, but lots and lots of shoot 'em up violence. Steroid monster men and a few beautiful women. Interesting weapon selection and lots of fight scenes. Kinda reminded me of a B Budget Rambo movie.

Far Superior to the Cruise Movies!
4 February 2022
We'll done, Amazon, we'll done! I enjoy the acting, storyline and outstanding action scenes. The main character, unlike Cruise, is very believable. Two thumbs up...

Stewart Shines

Jimmy Stewart portrays a seemingly scatterbrained scientist with annoying mannerisms with perfection. Totally focused on his task, Stewart plays the perfect scientific nerd! Outstanding acting.

A Different, but Interesting Film...
12 September 2020
Not your typical "healing" movie as it leaves a lot to one's interpretation... it's deeper than you suspect at first. The beginning is slow, but once the human interaction begins it flows well. Josh Lucas is an underrated actor and I always admire James Cromwell's work. One strongpoint of this film is the outstanding cinematography... beautiful work! Also, I found the soundtrack music to be soothing. A man's long road to healing... I liked it.

Could have been a good movie
18 February 2020
Drawn out plot, amateur acting by the yutes but Snipes added an interesting character. I thought the actual plot was interesting but not executed well. Worth watching? If you have nothing else to do, yes.

An Hour Forty I wish I could get back...

Every once in a while you run into a "B Budget" movie that is soooooooo bad, it's actually kind of good, in a weird cult following way. Evil Alien Conquerors comes to mind... so bad, Tori Spelling played "Jan" but wasn't even credited... Taking Earth doesn't even reach this category. I don't know who had the rich, South African Daddy bank rolling this steaming turd...

Ford Slams Pontiac Via Robocop?
9 July 2006
An entertaining movie with plenty of action and gratuitous breasts (bar scene) but something interesting caught my attention: A possible low key slam at Pontiac by Ford via the writers? Here is my logic:

The OCP officers drove futuristic Ford Taurus police cars, correct? Normally car manufacturers provide cars to movie makers for advertising purposes, though I didn't see an acknowledgment in the credits. Thus the potential for sponsor influence. I know, without the acknowledgment it is a bit of a stretch, but bear with me.

There were numerous references to the "6000SUX" gas guzzling car, including the cute commercial by the CHIODO Bros. What relevance is this? The number 6000. Robocop was released in 1987. The Ford Taurus hit the streets in 1986 and it's main competitor was Pontiac's "6000." 6000 SUX... 6000 sucks? Subliminal suggestion? Are the writers that clever? Food for thought, but funny if true...

Always Outnumbered (1998 TV Movie)

An absolutely outstanding film.
27 December 2005
I do not recall the first time I saw this film, but I was so positively impressed with the story and acting that my daughter bought the DVD and book for me. And this was when the DVD still cost a small fortune! Mr. Socrates Fortlo is a very complex individual who is just trying to do the right thing. His friends and neighbors recognize his natural leadership abilities and they routinely come to him with their problems. The narration is a nice touch too. He has a code of honor that he maintains, and he just wants to do the right thing... and he attempts to pass his code of honor on to the next generation. This film should be a "must watch" for everyone.

Cheese At It's Finest!
27 June 2005
Cheesy and low budget. Incredibly cheesy and low budget. Soooooo cheesy and low budget that I had to love it! "B" budget???? How about "Z" budget. But somehow it works for me! Even my 14 and 16 year old nephews loved it and recite lines with deadly accuracy. "I am Croker and I will crush you puny Earthlings!" Where do I find my Smirnoff Ice and univ-brow babes????? Our fearless aliens who visit Earth to accomplish their mission give new meaning to the word "moron." But then again, I found their characters to vaguely remind me of the simple minded aliens in Galaxy Quest. After a while I thought I might see a cameo appearance from Silent Bob and the Jay Meister! If you can find a video store that carries a copy, rent it!
