Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (2023)
Genuinely mediocre
I'm a big Taylor Swift fan, but from a film perspective, "The Eras Tour" lacked in so much. The cinematography felt so uninspired for the majority of the movie. The db levels in most of the film were all over the place and apparently it was a problem with the way the film's music had been mixed. Most of the film was so slow. I felt like I was just trudging through the pacing the entire time. I understand it's rare to make a great film based on a musician's tour or album as a general plot/documentary based, but even yet I had such a hard time just sitting trying to "enjoy" it. Musicially, of course the Eras is less original than her other work like "Speak Now."
Overall, it was decent. Not horrible, but horribly underwhelming.

Barbie (2023)
Spoiler-Free Unbiased Review
Barbie is a film that on the outside appeals to a younger audience but it is certainly much more mature in overall nature.
Barbie pushes the boundaries of what a people blindly may assume a Barbie movie should or would be able to- in both good ways, and bad ways.
The good- Barbie is at many moments, fun, adaptive, emotional, even philosophically provoking. The story is enjoyable and attention-grabbing while both Gosling and Robbie have played their roles to a T. Margot Robbie played the "stereotypical Barbie" so well, almost too well at times. Ryan Gosling played Ken so well and the contrast between him in two different arcs of the film were not only distinct but all-believable. The costume design was superb and I was thoroughly impressed with some of the visuals and set design throughout. The CGI is very poor at a few scenes (which normally I would put under cons) BUT the film doesn't take its self too seriously during those scenes, so it's rather comical than anything.
The bad- The writing of this film contains certain elements of contradiction; It essentially claims that women can (mostly) only be powerful by holding "high societal job responsibilities," such as being a lawyer, doctor, president, etc; when this just simply isn't true, MOTHERS FOR EXAMPLE! Being a mother is one of (if not the biggest) responsibility a human can have- the idea of a collective job that can single handedly shift an entire generations thinking? Yeah, sorry but mother's are the most powerful. The film at several moments gets very political but subliminally and not-subliminally, which is always annoying no matter what political beliefs you carry, it's just almost always cringe I guess?
TLDR;
"Barbie" triumphs in being fun, engaging, and thought-provoking. The film, like many others, sells itself short by its political agenda and removes depth by doing so. Overall a mostly enjoyable experience meant for an adult audience.
7.3/10.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Terrible, another Marvel miss since Eternals
The plot line was all over the place, CGI was excellent in many scenes and felt very cheap in others. Much of the camera angles were cheesy, a telltale sign of a Raimi film
Direction:
I was very disappointed, film was not even fun.
The film did not shy away from pushing a political agenda, which isn't necessarily bad, but certainly felt forced and cheesy.
Example; a character mentions that everything in a certain multiverse is free, and everything in most multiverses are free for that matter
It's generally best to keep politics out of a movie meant for such a broad audience, that will usually win over critics as well
Pacing:
The fact that they cut 40 minutes of extra footage in an attempt to make this the best it could have been saddens me. Almost worth the price of admission just for some certain scenes that were graphically stunning, but do not go in there expecting a true Marvel movie because that is not what you are going to get. The movie tends to feel like it is dragging along and some scenes are much longer than they need to be and feel like nothing but fillers.
Plot and Contents:
The movie starts off very intriguing and easily captivates your attention, and then suddenly once an endless amount of plot holes occur, suddenly the movie feels like something you have to watch rather than something you want to.
Marvel movies generally have some plot holes here and there, but this was just ridiculous.
The language and dialogue was essentially PG-13, but much of the violence is R and will shock many younger viewers
My overall review
4.7/10.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Horrendous nostalgia-injected attempt to get folks in the theatre
Where do I begin? It wasn't funny. The script was very bland but included certain scenes of nostalgia for the people that grew up with the original. The nostalgia lasts for a very short span of time and then subsides almost immediately. Enjoyable cast but no definitive directing from the script to make their acting seem like anything impressive.
The CGI was solid, but that's about it, what else do you expect nowadays?
There has not been a single good Ghostbusters movie since the first one. The 2016 remake was God awful and this is almost as bad.
Being generous, I'll say 5/10.
Schindler's List (1993)
Brutal, Graphic, Moving
Spielberg's dramatic 200 minute-long holocaust film is enough to leave anybody with a soul in tears by the end. Filmed in Auschwitz, Poland, accompanied with an incredible script straight from the book about the true story of Oskar Schindler; this film keeps your attention from the second it begins to after it's over with. As it should be, this film is very very violent and shows the truly horrific torture that the Jewish people faced in Auschwitz during that time.
Oskar Schindler started as a selfish businessman, seeking only to make money, but later found a cause behind his means.
Only a man who's done nothing would state his accomplishments, but a righteous man will always claim he didn't do enough, and this film is the driving proof to that. Cinematography is phenomenal and the acting perhaps even better. This is certainly a movie every person needs to see.
10/10.
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Great, not incredible
This film had some wonderful cinematography, easily distinguishing the intense moments from the relaxed with the camera angles. The script was wonderful, and the acting couldn't have been much better. This truly shows the undoubtedly incredible acting ability that Jodie Foster possesses.
For the most part, there isn't much happening until the last forty-or-so minutes of the film, when the antagonists truly begin to reveal themselves.
I felt that Buffalo Bill's character did not get enough dialogue before Clarice blew him to smithereens, which could be good for alluding mystery; but yet leaves more for a bother than a brain scratch.
Perhaps the worst part of this film was how they gave Lecter a big build up to break out and did not cover it whatsoever until the end again, and even when they did, it did not have a shock or disturbed effect, instead it left me confused; even though I understood the script.
Overall, a great movie. Almost everything was executed well, and the directing was very classical. I give it a 7/10.
Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004)

My Brother Jordan (2020)
A Simple Film, a Beautiful Story
I clicked on this video by accident and stayed for a couple of minutes. Next thing I know, I am captivated by Justin Robinson's story of his brother Jordan; watching the entire documentary and leaving with tears in my eyes.
We see just how much Jordan Robinson meant to each and every single person that was in his life, and now we are seeing how his story is impacting everybody's life; showing the time that we have with loved ones that we should never take for granted.
I am always very critical whenever I review something, so I truly mean it when I say this is one of the most impactful and beautiful documentaries that I have ever seen.
Thank you Justin Robinson for sharing the story -
The story of your brother, Jordan.
Friends (1994)
Bland, boring, and simply not funny whatsoever
I realize this is one of the first sitcoms of its kind to ever air, any many people have fallen in love with this series, these people however have never gotten into shows like South Park, The Office or even the Simpsons and it shows. See, Friends has very very bland and dry humor (which some people like), but the show's plots are really nothing short of overrated and did not take much time at all to come up with. Friends has created a seemingly endless cycle of cringe-worthy jokes and other sitcoms similar to its very own spawn. I tried getting into the series a total of 9 times because of all the hype and simply could not do it, I fell asleep the first 3 times. All people do on that show is cheat, hookup, tell corny jokes, have occasional serious moments, and then rinse and repeat.
