Kokkuri-san (1997)
Bad
This film is extremely bad. Poorly written, characters are not explained or presented well. Very loose storyline that drags on with no real excitement, climax, or motivation. Really bland and in short boring. Use this film if you need to take a nap.
The fact of using the Kokkuri game never tied into the end. It almost seems there will be consequence for playing the game or retribution for Kokkuri-san herself, but nothing happens. Shots are overly slow, might I restate again that many pointless things happen that do not move the story along, such as a girl's first time with sex and how she feels after, really did not move the story. Furthermore, there were a lot of things in this movie that left me wondering what's the point. Finally when the film ends, I was left saying "So What?" - Please listen to me and skip this film, otherwise you'll be bored and be saying "So What" just like me.

Great
If you're a Final Fantasy Fan - Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children is for you. The film takes off 2 years after the events of 7 - You'll be introduced to some back story but if you don't know the difference of your holies, meteors, and Jenova's you better play through the game once more before viewing. The film can be enjoyed but not fully understood and on the same emotional level as someone who has beaten the game. It has the best fight scenes I've ever seen, fantastic music - characters and GREAT voice acting (Refering to Japanese) - Cloud is back and now wields an even better sword which can change into 8 different swords. And Everyone from Barret, Tifa, Red XIII (Nanaki), Cid, Cait dolls, Vincent, Reno and Rude are all there plus some new characters and MANY surprises. The ending of Advent Children ends Final Fantasy 7 perfectly and comfortably and ever again...so perfectly. I had goosebumps and such chills - you will too if you've played through the game. The original ending to the game was good but very abrupt and sort of cut off. This will smooth it all out and make everything "Okay" and make you so happy. I can die now. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children is awesome! Highly recommended.

Silent Night, Bloody Night (1972)
Unbelievably Creepy
Wow, This was VERY good. A story that as you on the edge of your seat the whole time, guessing over and over again. This film has such a good style to it, With a creppy flashback filmed in sepia and the colors very dark. The use of not "seeing" certain elements or people, but the use of sound, IMAGINATION- A key element for a horror film. It was very...how should I put this...Poked at your comfort zone. You didn't feel safe or in control watching it. Some people might complain about the Quality of it, escpecially it is hard to see in a particular night time shot, but through the sound it's better that you don't see it. Unfortunately, with a lot of these great horror films that are over looked, There is no remastering. I have it in a "Horror Classics" DVD. It is absolutely amazing and very very creepy. You'll be walking up your stairs looking around unsteadily. You have to love the feeling. This will definitely scare the lady friend. :)
The Forgotten (1973)
Smart Script, Pretty good film
Like the review before me, people were a little too critical on this film. Delivered very well with a great cast. My friend and I watched it a few days ago and he guessed the plot early in the film, and said "It would be awesome if this happened" Which it did, so it was really cool- It has a good story and twists and keeps you guessing. Sometimes it's a bit humorous, but the setting and mood was delivered well. This is a good film to watch with some buddies or a special someone. It will keep you interested until the very end, and will give you that good IL' Horror feeling. If you're looking for a pretty gory, weird movie- Don't look in the Basement is definitely it.
