Metoda Markovic: Hojer (2024)
True Detective meets Mindhunter
Such a brilliant time-piece from the final years of the communist era in Czechoslovakia. Improbable father-son relationship between the serial killer and the detective. The start of the forensic detective work in this parts of the world. Brilliant acting, camera and choreography. But most of all, exquisite storytelling by the screenwriter Jaroslav Hruska. What a debut performance! Christopher Waltz like. He and his team did incredibly thorough work with the world renowned real-life detective Jiri Markovic, spending hours and hours talking to him at his home, going through his journals together. I feel gutted that Mr. Markovic passed away just months before the show release and wasn't able to see it. This is not your microwaved Netflix show. It's long marinated, slow cooked beef bourguignon of tv shows. Delight for all your senses.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Freddy's masculine face expression
The movie is good, we'll written. But from the first scene I had issue with Malek appearance. He looked feminine, weak and not confident. I watched thousand of videos, Freddy always look strong and masculine. He may walk feminine, but he's face expression is very masculine. I find this very fascinating and Malek didn't do him justice.
