Dueños del Paraíso (2015)
Worst narco telenovela ever
Great actors but that is about it. Barraza, Del Castillo, Dalton and some others do a great job (Varoni is awful, trying to be a memorable character). This has to be the worst narcotelenoleva ever. I have seen most of them. The production values of DDP are almost nonexistent. It lacks logic and continuity. One day they say Leandro Quezada has cancer and has two months to live and then nobody mentions it and he makes plans that should take longer than two months. Sometimes they are having diner and then the actions moves to something that is supposed to take place simultaneously and is day time! Gina's baby is aging backwards: one day they say he is two months old and in a subsequent episode they say he is one month old. After 7 months Renato's cut in his neck still has not healed. This telenovela is really, really bad. Way too many errors. They even forget that the story is supposed to take place in 1977! No wonder in an interview, when asked if she would do a sequel, the protagonist said that some things needed to be fixed first.
Narcos (2015)
this is a good series. Most of the actors did a commendable job
This is a good series. Most of the actors did a commendable job (Including Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie as Pablo's mom). Although I do understand that Netflix wants to appeal to a global viewership, I must admit that the inaccuracy of many of the accents was very distracting. So it was the lack of Spanish fluency in some of the actors "forced" to speak in Spanish. Also, I do not agree with some of the nativist comments -nor endorse English as the lingua franca- but the bilingual format was not very successful -in my view. Production values are high but I have seen several Colombian narco telenovelas that are better product than Narcos. Entertaining yet not Netflix best product.
Metástasis (2014)
Excellent remake
This an excellent adaptation of BB. Diego Trujillo and Diana Reyes did a great work as Walter and Cielo. Damian Alcazar is a vastly superior Tuco Salamanca.
The same is the case of the Colombian Saul Goodman. The actor portraying Jose is not bad but can not compare with the original actor. Those Latin-Americans that gave poor reviews to this series, in my opinion, exhibit self-hate and internal colonization.
Production values are not as good in the Colombian version. It is not bad but one can see that they invested more in the original.
While the Colombian version is not as good as the original (probably the best series of its decade!) is very meritorious.
