Light on Me (2021)

I don't enjoy it a lot
29 October 2021
The story was ok, but the acting was unbearable. Disaster to be honest.

I understand that it's hard to play a non-social person, but it doesn't mean you should put up a poker face all the time. That's not acting, that's just reading the script. And I wonder if the protagonist actor realized that the story wanted the character to become mature enough to be with others. Well, I didn't see that progress.

Btw, I was hoping that the music could save a bit, but no. There were a lot close-ups where actor making poker face, no music at all. Those moments were really awkward and confusing.

Smooth
15 September 2021
Honestly, I never thought of that I would like this one, since I was never a big fan of romantics. But this one was just that magical, the interactions between the leads were sweet, never too much and natural, all of these made this series more enjoyable.

Most powerless prince ever
19 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The prince was maybe the weakest one I've ever seen, completely clueless about what's going on, and that was a gigantic flaw for drama(every drama needs their leads to solve the storyline, don't they?) throughout the whole series, it made me feel like the prince wasn't really concentrated on all the ongoing conspiracy: he's sleeping on all the incidents details, he's not gathering his loyal people, and he's not determined enough to sentence corrupted ministers.

Overall, as a historic it's good enough, and the acting of the leads were outstanding. However, the story was boring. I'm not feeling anything after watching, except cringe, I skipped a lot.

Powerless ending
3 June 2021
A little bit disappointed, but overall it's still worth to watch if you're bored enough.

The opening was fine but the ending was like the crew got electric shocked, too much superfluous suspense plot made it nearly impossible not to skip.

It's attacking my emotion
27 May 2021
Although I could see the director trying to implant romance between main characters, the more I watched the more depressed I felt.

Both of the main characters bear too much and left nothing to give. As a outside audience, I feel like I'm watching two drowning ppl, out of nature they're attached to each other but pulling to sink together. What kind of distorted and suffocative relationship is that. Yes the story is attractive but the same time made me feel really uncomfortable, I hope the main characters wont get together in the end(still at ep.7.

Edgy for Korean dramas
24 May 2021
Depicting stories in a fake documentary way was always brilliant to me, though that may be common for American drama, it indeed is a rare element for Korean dramas. I admire the courage of the crew for making it edgy, and the result was they did an amazing job. It not only reminds me of the light and cozy atmosphere I felt in "the office" but it also showed me again of Koreans' nature, emotion's magicians, how good they are in making ppl cry.

Mediocre
19 March 2021
The first 6 episodes were smooth, but than the plot turned dull and confusing. Plus the comedy element was a little bit weak, and so was the chemistry between the main actor and actress. If it weren't for the man lead, I would say this series painful to watch.

Attractive story, but the character is a bit weak
17 March 2021
It's pleasing to watch indeed, but I feel I couldn't really relate with the mafia background. Weak, little drawing about this setting, way too superfluous. The main actor here to me is more like a badass business consultant, rather than a mafia lawyer.

Everything's perfect
14 March 2021
I love the plot, the acting, the humor planted... everything's spot on. When I first finished 18 again(a 2020 Korean series), i thought that's the peak, nothing can top it, but then I got recommended to this. 18 again is definitely a 10/10, and go back couple is a 11/10.

Light and pleasing

As always, the casting of the team never let down.

I sticked to the series 50% for the good looking actors, 25% for the surprises in each episodes, 25% for the smooth storytelling.

Everything in this series was pleasing, from color to sounds, visually and auditorily 10/10

I'm looking forward for this team to produce a normal length bl series.

Flawless

Exactly how you should roll down a 10 minutes length web-series!

Great acting, great music choices, great storytelling, and most importantly, the casting was superb. Also, I believe the greatness of this production wasn't only limited as the pioneer bl series in Korea history.(ppl, Korea oppressing, refraining lgbt anything blooming wasn't new for world. Yet managed to broadcast this quality work)

Conservative, stoic, ascetic, the way they promoted it and added the tsundere personality into characters that's Aesthetically pioneering, well done.

Sadly, lots of people aren't buying it and said the chemistry weak, romance flawed. I feel really sorry bout this cus diversity matters. And the typical Thai bl are so dull, same mode, same story with different actors.

If I really have to pick, I hope they added sex scenes in middle XD

Pity acting followed by baaaad music, Great story though
21 February 2021
Nice plot, but speaking from a Taiwanese's perspective, I feel that the Japanese character wasn't really necessary for this.

In fact, although he's fluent with Chinese, still not good enough to play a role whose character was set to be a child that lived in Taiwan for 10+years.

It's not just the accent, the way he couldn't speak his line impromptu and when he tried, he accidentally used filler words in awkward ways(not often, but pulls me out from the storytelling every single time)

One more flaw, the music, the audio clips. Seriously, you wouldn't want to hear the same mood expressing audio clips for every Taiwan series in your lifetime. Horrible, shabby, baaaad taste! And that's the same detriment of many Taiwanese directors for years, no one's bout to change that like music's no biggie in Taiwan drama. Ok

It was a 7 for me but since there's little BL series in east Asia, I grant you a 8😀
