Nice Tribute, but it dragged on
11 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
The tribute was very nicely done, a real testament to the life and work of George Lucas, but the part that just didn't work was how they were cutting back and forth between little montages from star wars, and introducing actors on stage, to give their own congrats to George. It is the somewhat unfortunate thing for Lucas (though given financial and popularity gains, not really) that the main film focused on was the star wars franchise. Other works played a small role in video tributes and memories of old days, but the main focus was on star wars, and frankly its hard to drag on a two hour show just thanking George and congratulating him, while cutting back and forth to star wars montages featuring the voice of James Earl Jones. Still an okay show though, good enough that it got my attention to watch at least.
