Mimi wo sumaseba (1995)
A PERFECT FILM.
We roam earth looking for a connection, a tie to someone else that only pulls us closer, a story we can share with someone who sits and listen. This movie was no short of any of that.
Emotional. Empowering. Endearing. Gentle. It comes across soft to your heart and a fine melody for the ear. Everything inside was spot on, especially the rawness and simplicity of the need to connect to another. It takes on self discovery, discipline and bonds; family bonds, friendship bonds, love bonds, ALL BONDS. And as the story woven swiftly, the song came through a beautiful thread in this awesome creation.
Of every movie I have watched, nome ever had a character who never fully felt like me. Now I get to relate to one! I am shocked and happy I got to watch this movie now. From the carefully crafted scenes, to the breathtaking animation and just wonderful story, to the music to the last seconds of this movie, I have felt a world of emotion so familiar, so heartwarming and so real.

"Ayy, Captain"
It's heartwarming in a sense. They somehow take you from the laptop screen and get you super invested in the story. Every character unfolds, little by little and no matter how ugly it gets, you find yourself indulging in the details and grasping what's happening. At no point, you will be lost or bored.
I highly recommend this.
