The Sullivans (1976–1983)
W class tram
20 October 2021
I remember the fist episode where Kitty alights from a W class tram on her way home from school. It was set in 1939 but shot in 1976, I wondered if the producers did anything special to choose the tram that Kitty rode on or just boarded the regular service W class which were still running at the time?

Probably the former because they would have done retakes and made the tram go back and forth.

True Believers

Never understood why the ALP were called "The True Believers" I think this had it's origins from the media. Might be something to do with The Split.

Neutral

I might have missed it but why is there a neutral zone between the Japanese and German territories? Is it because the two powers didn't agree on boundaries?

This movie is popular with rail enthusiasts because it shows the bus operators as scheming conniving villains.

Cyclotrode 'X' (1966 TV Movie)
I liked it
13 May 2019
I saw it as a kid in the early '70s. They were showing some old SciFi on Saturday mornings. Just saw it again. The date was 1966 but seemed to be older. I read that it was a bunch of serials made in 1946 edited into a movie in 1966.

Main observation was there were a lot of fight scenes which nobody fought well, I supposed they were academics and not good at fighting.

I enjoyed it as a kid and I enjoyed it now, I'm not going to pick it to bits but I might seek out the other crimson ghost movies.

Rosemeyer

I wonder about the rank of Reichsmarschall Rosemeyer, this means "Marshall of the Realm" which I understand that was created specially for Goering to ensure he was higher than generals. Nobody else was a reichsmarschall

What I liked,

The fart scene at the beginning, and the headlines "Big Flareup at UN" or "Big Stink"

The typical suburb which had kangaroos, emus and wombats and other wildlife wandering around the streets. Apparently a common misconception by tourists

The official embassy car was a stretched FJ Holden with the Australian Coat of Arms on the side.

The OzCharge credit card which said: "Charge to: The Australian Taxpayer"

Paul Jennings who impersonates the PM Bob Hawke was saying "aww cripes" when dealing with Sir Les Patterson and sends him to an obscure country
