The Liberator (2020)
An Interesting Concept
I stumbled upon this on Netflix & as I like things related to WWII, I thought I'd give it a watch.
On first impressions I thought that the idea of overlaying a graphic comic book style was genius, but however to soon wained as I started to pick faults with it. There is imperfections in the quality of this process & on the outset it looks like a YouTube video, with someone doing a video overlaying it with a cheap app & posting it on YouTube & the acting isn't too good either. Give it a go see what you think but nah not for me.
Clue (1985)
Completely biased opinion
This without doubt is my favourite film of all time.. don't ask me why because I don't know.
The movie itself is a parody of the board game Clue in the USA, or cluedo in the UK.
For me it's a sort of slap stick comedy mixed with a murder mystery & the fact that when you went to the cinema to see it, you didn't know which ending you'd get.
Highly recommended movie for me despite it being released in 1985, bloody brilliant!
The Orville (2017)
A little too on the nose
Ok I might sound a bit harsh here, I do enjoy Seth's creations, his sense of humour & his voice abilities, but for The Orville I'm not too sure. Don't get me wrong, I thought Season One was great, an original concept of having your ex wife is originally funny, however I know McFarlane to be a Star Trek geek & to create a near identical star ship & crew was a little disappointing.
I thought Seth with his creative juices could have come up with something a little more unique than a Star Trek rip off, but it is strange that I stated that I did enjoy season 1 butI haven't had the same urge to watch season 2.
I guess that if someone does read this who did enjoy season 2, please let me know!
Forky Asks a Question (2019)
Funny even for adults
These short videos are obviously meant for kids, they convey a short but educational message & lesson to children about certain questions they might ask, but in reality I think it was a free reign for animators, writers & the like to let their hair down a bit & have a bit of a laugh.
The subtle little signs of humour, wit, sarcasm paired with open inpatients towards Forky is hilarious, as a 47 year old bloke, I stumbled upon this on Disney+ & found it very funny, I only wish they did more.
Snowpiercer (2020)
A TARDIS of a train
OK Let's get straight to the elephant in the room..the interior size of the train! At times it looks as wide as a house & the ability to move from engine to tail across all 1001 cars in minutes seems effortless.
The other problem I have with this series that I think it takes ideas from other TV shows & movies: The rebellion is an obvious copy of the final scene in Spartacus: Blood & Sand & the distopian nature of the series lends itself from the Hunger Games (in my opinion).
All that being said I am still interested in watching it, it may have nicked a few ideas but I think it will stand on its own if a third season is commisioned.
Give it a try, you just might like it!
Paradise PD (2018)
Funny but disappointed at the same time
This series for me had a lot better jokes, but it could have done without a song in every episode.
