Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader (2012)
USA up all night...
This movie is just so hilariously bad there's no need to point out why. You KNOW it's bad from the get-go and the title. I watched it assuming that was the case and was still entertained...to a point.
The main actress Jena sims is absolutely stunning in the title role. She will be proud of this when she's 50. She looks like every 18 year old college freshman's fantasy girl (even before she enlarges!) and that hair!
It reminds me of the cheap movies USA up all night with Rhonda Shear used to play in the 90's...just un-edited for cable. There is ample topless-ness in this movie (But they are obviously fake so make of it what you will)
If you are under the influence of ANYTHING fun and have 85M to waste, you could do a LOT worse. If you are sober do NOT attempt this movie or you will suffer eye rolling, mouth agaping and constant pointing out the cheesiness of the FX, Sets and Dialogue...beware, not for you!!!
Man with a Plan (2016)
Pretty Darn Funny!
I just watched all four seasons of Man with a Plan becuase it was funny enough to keep going!
I laughed more than I expected to most episodes, which surprised even me.
I'm a Matt LeBlanc fan from his Friends days (which is the only reason I gave this show a look) and he does a good job as a family dad, the exact opposite of Joey Tribbiani...now he has to protect his teenage daughter FROM the Joey tribbianis of the world!
Kevin Nealon Plays the brother and although his lines are often the best ones in any given episode, his toupee is very off-putting (he was more bald in the 1987 movie Roxanne, when he attacks steve Martin in the opening 5m!)
Stacy Keach is HILARIOUS as the father of both! This guy really gets comedy acting (See: two and a half men) after a career of serious roles. He has re-invented his career in the same way Leslie Nielson did in the 80s
Even the child actors were servicable for their roles
Sadly I just learned the show was cancelled earlier in 2020 which is a real shame because there simply isn't a decent, realistic, family sitcom (with real laughs, not just actors reacting with banal dialogue) that a family can watch these days.
I find it difficult to believe more people tune into Last Man Standing, Black-ish or Bob's burgers than this show...I really wish a streaming service like HULU or NETFLIX or CBS ALL ACCESS would pick up this show and continue it, it would be worth it!
Under the Skin (2013)
Oddly watchable
I am a HUGE Horror film fan and was recommended this movie by a friend of mine as a 'subtle' horror film. The last few times somebody told me that I ended up watching 'The Blair with project' and 'Cloverfield'...2 films I intend to never watch again...
This movie is different right off the bat as a simple, slow burn of information.
The whole seduction into a pool of black goo seemed 'Metaphorical' at first but then there is a scene that shows the truth and it is the most terrifying thing I've seen in a very long time....to the point that I cannot stop remembering it days after watching it, which is the mark of a TRUE horror film...
If you enjoy a slow but well paced film that has unforgettable images, check this one out.
Its not horror in the way you'd imagine it until you've seen it...
