Cobweb (2023)
Might've been good
Could've been good movie if you could see it. 75% of the moving Including the last 25% which is you know the climatic ending is completely in the dark I don't know if they were making this movie for blind people but any movie in my opinion that has to shoot in 90% darkness tells me they don't have very much faith in their movie or they didn't have the budget to make up the bad guy or in this case girl.
Anyway decent potential with creepy parents good acting for the actors and a story that kept you in the dark, literally, and compelled you to keep watching unfortunately when the big reveal happened you couldn't see it.
Evil Dead Rise (2023)
insult to original movies
This movie starts off promising but quickly goes south, the attempts at dark humor are big misses and as the movie goes on realize just how bad all the acting is. The dialogue is weak and the characters are even weaker. Every character is a cliche, especially the smart mouth precocious little girl, i mean seriously how many more times do we have to see this character in movies, yawn.
So no only was the movie bad but they of course had to top off by having a male role stolen by a female. Seriously this was an all female cast and its bad enough we have to continue to suffer with precocious little girl routine and the constants shoveling down our throat with the strong independent female leads but now we have females playing male roles. How do all those hard working males in hollywood really feel about their jobs being taken. My guess is we will never know because there really are no real men left in hollywood.
The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023)
Another episode you can skip
Another episode you can skip, has this episode was slow and added nothing to the overall plot line in an attempt I guess to give you more background on Eli was completely unnecessary. As you learn about Eli through the overall story a dedicated episode was not necessary especially one as slow as watching paint dry and at times extremely uncomfortable to watch. I don't understand this obsession however there's a time and a place in this series is not the place I love the game I wanna love the series stopped allowing certain groups to influence how Movies and shows are made. These groups are not your target audience stop placating and pandering to them.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
Child genius equals FTX!
Child genius equals FTX, I bet they wish They could go back and take that line out, maybe this should be a warning that the movie industry should stick to entertaining and stop sticking its ignorant nose into ideals and politics. I just watched this movie and it is quite telling starts off with a governor preaching about climate and all of the main characters are in lockdown and wearing mask. If anybody watches this movie 10 years from now you're gonna go what the hell are they all wearing masks for? This is so telling of where Hollywood has Ruined the movie industries.
I love Daniel Craig and almost every movie he does and it's because of him I'd give this movie six but because it was made by Netflix and Netflix is owned by corporate government which in turn ruined this movie by inputting its grotesque ideals, I didn't even mention the obvious equity/discriminating ideal that was so obvious, That I have to give it a one. I hope one day we'll be able to watch a movie like we were able to 20 years ago and not feel preach to buy the narcissistic unhappy ignorant masses elitist.
Violent Night (2022)
Written 20 years ago this could be entertaining
So I really wanted to like this movie I liked the movie Krampus, and it was clear that this was gonna be kind of a die hard meets Santa Movie. I like the idea the problem is when it came down to actually writing it, once again equity clouded the minds of the writers. And because of this the actors that were chosen to play certain parts mainly the mixed race couple we're all horrible choices, Including the kid actor, she was terrible and annoying. But I do like the actor who played Santa and he was the only one worth a grain of snow, so I was willing to overlook the equity choices and I made it through 3/4 of the movie, then I became somewhat confused, because they could not decide if they wanted this to be diehard or home alone, and because they allowed themselves to be taunted by having the equity kid in the movie, They added a home alone scene where the kid sets up a childish trap for the elite squad of killers to fall right into, the old nail on the steps trick. That is when I turned the movie off! If they would have decided to leave equity at the front door and make this a diehard movie with Santa playing the role of John this could've been a pretty decent movie.
And I just have to throw this in there there was one scene where the weak husband of the mixed race couple, Gets yelled at for not taking his daughter to see Santa the day before. And instead of turning that back around on his ex-wife and saying well what were you doing that you were too busy to take her he just graveled.
Poker Face (2022)
What a mess
Russell Crowe needs to stick to acting and give up directing immediately. This movie well I'm not even sure what it was supposed to be. There's this big mysterious set up in the beginning and then we get to the middle and it pulls you in a little more and then all of a sudden the movie completely breaks apart I don't wanna say too much give it a watch yourself I'd be wary if it wasn't for Russell Crowe the actor this movie would be a one star.
I will give you a slight hint of what I'm talking about. There's a wealthy man dying to start a business from nothing along with four other friends and began playing poker and turned into something bigger. As a climactic ending the main character set up a big game of poker to which secrets and lies were to be revealed, mix in some art thieves And you have one big mess of a movie.
Only Murders in the Building (2021)
Over rated but if not for equity could b 8
Replace Aaron and Selena who make you gringe every scene they are in and you have a hit. Please Hollywood if you are going to keep up with this disgusting woke agenda then at least find good actors.
Munich: The Edge of War (2021)
Rewriting history again
I wonder what Winston Churchill's opinion of this movie would be? A movie that's supposed to be based on Historical facts and has the gall to imply that these accords actually brought ally countries together and bought time to prepare? You don't have to be a history buff to know that this is completely absurd and opposite of what they actually did, and to imply otherwise is an insult to everyone who died in World War II.
If you want to just make a pure entertainment film they do not base it on historical events were you must change those events to suit your entertainment needs or idealistic vision of what you want people to think actually happen. The sad thing is I see a lot of high reviews and I'm sure they were entertained by some of the decent acting at the problem is they were misled on historical facts and I'm not sure that these people will ever know and that's just sad.
Just as a side-note, did the writers of this movie forget about Pearl Harbor? Because without Pearl Harbor America's involvement in the war may not have ever happened.
Murderville (2022)
My kind of humor
You have to have a taste for this kind of humor, plain stupid, childless, dry humor. I've seen some reviews that get upset because it's not as good as the British version. I'm not sure why they're being so critical, the show supposed to be light and funny not supposed to be a seriously Written TV show. I have not yet watched the British version and I find it hard to believe that they did so much better with this style of writing. My guess is that the American version is using guest stars that Americans actually know who they are and want to see attempt to improv. I took a brief look at the English version and I don't recognize any of their guest stars so it really takes the point away from the show. I'm sure it's more funny to those who are familiar with these guest stars on the English version but that doesn't necessarily make it better.
Also it's kind of fun trying to guess the murder.
Normally I would deduct five points because of Hollywood's woke agenda item making its way into the show, however because it made me laugh many times I'm willing to overlook this one. And in case you missed it, and only if you're blind would you miss it and even then you probably could figure it out based on the characters voices and behaviors, The mixed race married couple between the lead detective and of course the black captain. Netflix never misses an opportunity to throw this into the audience's face even when it is completely unnecessary and feels extremely forced and fake.
The Sinner (2017)
Season 2 ruined it.
I watched season one because I like Bill Pullman, and Jessica Biel is an OK actor. Regardless of season 1 being Pointlessly slow at times and using the tired old repressed memories angle, I still made it through the whole season and give it a five or six. I was able to overlook the repressed memories nonsense because at least it was drug induced. But Pullman did carry this season.
So I start Season two, episode one, and right out the gate we get an unnecessary sex scene, And this is on USA channel almost any kid could watch. Then in true current equity Hollywood style we get a black female sheriff who is the daughter of a mixed race couple. Oh but they don't stop there later in the episode we find out she is gay and her partner, you guessed it, is white. Now look I have zero problem with any of these issues, free country do as you please. But it is a big problem when they are continually blatantly thrown in our face, using bad actors, bad writing And when it is completely unnecessary. To me it always seems forced, They can't even be creative anymore, they've gotten so lazy it's like they just go find the equity checklist and make sure they fill it out even if it doesn't make any sense even If it takes away from the story it's distracting and quite frankly it's really getting old.
So someone else will have to review season two and three because I'm done with it I refuse to give in to the pandering Hollywood agenda.
Are there any producers, directors or writers with real class or character left in this world?
The King's Man (2021)
Not sure what history books the writers read?
So it's 1914 and we're to believe that a black butler and a female nanny were part of the initial group that started the secret agency Made up of English gentleman known as the KingsMen???
What alternate universe is Hollywood in every movie maker and TV writer living in these days it's such an insult. On top of that the movie slow dull and seems to really have no point whatsoever especially in the creation of this gentleman secret agency. What a disappointment.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Too many story lines makes for mess
I watched all nine episodes it was very good visually did not care for the couple of woke items that were thrown in there, but I was willing to overlook them since the show seemed intriguing. Then the credits rolled after the ninth episode and I amm still wondering what the heck the series was supposed to be about. The show is a mess I am not sure if they could not figure out what they wanted it to be about or they tried to throw in a bunch of different things and did not realize they just made a mess out of it. I do not understand the nine rating Unless it is just a bunch of gamers who love the game and like anime and do not really care about story or a plot.
Did the makers of the series hire a bunch of people in a sweatshop in China to Mark every One star review as Not helpful? Or maybe there is just a bunch of lonely people with nothing better to do and who can not face the truth that a series based on their favorite video game is not good. Look, the series had great visuals good voice acting and the potential for some really good things, That is why it kept me watching all nine episodes, but it is most definitely not a nine star
series. There is something very fishy here and if you look at some of the reviewers that gave the series a ten the last majority of them this is their only review and some very strange Computer generated usernames.
I saw one review that had over 3000 dislikes I find that very difficult to believe so then It seems the rating could be manufactured because there is no way that this series deserves a nine. I would give it a nine on visuals but the rest of it is so bad the overall has to be at Best at two star. Good visuals and decent voice acting, or it being about some video game that you really like, does not make a series 9 or 10.
Silent Night (2021)
Ahhh NO MORE
I love dark humor Movies, I really liked Krampus. It was pure entertainment, no hidden meaning, other than Christmas is supposed to be special and Do not take family for granted. Why do the movie makers of today just so hell-bent on ruining their entire industry?
I can Not believe this movie was made. It isn't humorous at all and there is no real message it's a propaganda movie disguised as dark humor. They had all of it wrapped up in a bowl. Gay mix couple, Married mix couple, illegal immigration, how we treat our elderly and to top it off climate change. There is an actual line in the movie that says " greta even met with Leo DiCaprio and we didn't listen". It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad that these people actually want us to believe that some child and an actor know more about the climate than scientists. Do you want to know why no one is listening to them, because once again it's a child and an actor. This is sickening, this movie is disgusting and it's sad It was put in the theaters. And to top it all off their solution just like every solution Extremist have, it's not to find a way to fix the problem but instead let's just take a pill and I'll kill ourselves. Unbelievable.
Once again We are being preached to by elitist narcissists that are blinded by their own ego trying to make a point on topics they are completely clueless on. It is unfortunate because there are several actors in this movie including Roman Griffin Davis, I thought it was Brilliant and JoJo rabbit, that I really like.
I feel like the more they do this the more damage they do to the population, just leave your blind opinions to yourself and let people live their lives and you just stick to entertaining, it is the only thing you are good at or at least used to be good at, and stop trying to meddle in areas you know nothing about Just to make yourself feel better and look good at your next thousand dollar a plate dinner party.
The Salisbury Poisonings (2020)
So deadly??
The only thing deadly in the series is the series itself is deadly to entertainment and information because it provided neither. The entire series continually played high intense music to give The impression that everything happening on the screen was intense, then they would get to climactic point and you're like OK, nothing happened stop playing that music. The entire series was like this. Then they made a point many times throughout the series just how deadly this nerve agent was, Yeah only one person died out of all those infected and she had sprayed it directly on her skin and rubbed it into her skin. Now I'm sure that the agent is Something that should not be taken lightly but we have many household pesticides that are very much the same. If it was so deadly they glossed over the point that the policeman's wife and two daughters lived in a home for two weeks maybe more virus had contaminated Multiple parts of the house, including high traffic areas and light switches. Yeah none of them, thankfully of course, got sick.
If you want my opinion all the series showed us how our government continues to use overreach to react to a situation that they know nothing about simply to satisfy their job description and spending budget. We saw this happened the last two years with the coronavirus. They try to make heroes out of certain government officials in this series, But in my opinion those individuals they tout as heroes did their job poorly, because they overreacted to the situation instead of taking a step back and analyzing the actual risk assessment. They spent millions and cost small businesses hundreds of thousands with closing certain areas and caused widespread panic for For something in my opinion was not as serious enough to warrant such actions. It seems they could've handled the situation with a much smaller response and saved the public how many small businesses heartache. Seems familiar. I think we really need to have a close look in to how we respond to potential situations like this and make massive adjustments to procedure.
The Victim (2019)
Too drawn out
Good cast but and I would say series could be 6 if half the number of episodes, better Cinematography, and characters to care about. Also I deducted 5 stars for the woke agenda item, is it now a requirement that every show made on the bbc must have a main couple that is mixed race? I am sick and tired of having it blantonly shoved in our face like it just part of every day life when statics prove the opposite.
Lantern's Lane (2021)
Is this a real movie?
So what is this somebody's high school class project or something because if so they get a D I would give them an F but they get a D for trying. Seriously though who makes these movies and who is supposed to be the audience? I started watching this movie because I like horror movies, thrillers and in the description it said this was an urban legend gone wrong but really it's just a movie that's gone wrong. Horrible acting, horrible music, horrible cinematography, extremely low budget do not waste your time.
Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (2021)
Not a paranormal activity
So I enjoyed the series of paranormal activity movies and I enjoyed them for what they were they were and I really liked how they tied them all together. I am not sure why this one is being lumped in with the para activity series of movies. But with that said I will not rate this movie simply because it has nothing to do with the previous series and look at it as a standalone, and as a standalone this movie is Not good, they need to remove the paranormal activity from the Title. The plot is same ole same ole And none of the characters are interesting, well except one the sound guy he has some pretty good lines and really without him this movie will be even more of a complete bust.
Then you realize why they tricked the fans of the paranormal activity movies by using the name, they wanted get us to watch so they could shove more of their social agendas down our throat.
For example: The couple of people that pick this movie up in 10 years and watch it are going to go, what the heck? Why are they wearing masks at the airport? Why did the guy get out of the car without his mask then run back and get it like he just committed some major offense? What the heck is this? Is this part of the movie? It is so ridiculous and it is so silly everyone knows that in the movies you take liberties and it is OK to go ahead and Skip the mask, it's serves no purpose and is a distraction from the purpose of the movie. But then again it seems the only purpose of movies these days is to push an agenda and not writing a good movie.
Chapelwaite (2021)
So bad
Adrien Brody is an actor, I use that term lightly, that needs to stick to the roles that fit his lack of talent. Such as the movie alien. This series felt like I was watching something from the 80s on a Sunday night when we only had three channels to choose from. There were so many flaws The most glaring was the number of times you didn't feel like you were in the 1800s. The series could've been done and three episodes maybe two. I'm usually OK with a long drawn out series as long as the characters are interesting and the dialogue is good. However, this series had neither in fact in the last four episodes I fast forward so much I think I watched a total of 45 minutes. I give this series of two only because the concept is good and oh yeah that's because it came from Stephen king unfortunately they did a horrible job of implementing that concept. And then of course they couldn't help themselves but they had to put an Explanation mark on this terrible series with a horrible ending.
I'm going to give a little bit of the series away but trust me you'll be happy I save you the time. The father after deciding to make a sacrifice which good for him to turn himself into a vampire to protect the book leaves his vampire daughter alone in a town to to watch her siblings grow old and die? Are you serious exactly why wouldn't you take your vampire daughter with you? It's just so stupid sometimes I would love to look in on The room where the writers make these decisions.
The Lost Symbol (2021)
What a shame.
We need a pass law to make it a crime that makes it illegal to put political ideology in a Non-political movie. Personal agendas have no place being in a series or a movie, especially a Dan Brown movie.
And just so you know without the 1776 flag there would've been no revolutionary war there would've been no Civil War, which ended slavery and then ultimately the civil rights movement which pushed the The constitutional rights of all American citizens, You can't just rewrite history and skip the parts you don't like, you have to look at Country's history as a whole and judge it by the mini landmark steps that it takes the rich history. 1776 was just the beginning it lead the way to today's society and it seems the only ones who are unhappy with it are those at the top, those in charge, and those with money, I wonder why that is?
I love Dan Brown books and I love the movies, I was looking forward to this series and once again someone was able to sneak in there disgusting opinions and ideals, and ruin another series. I wish actors, writers and directors that just want to entertain would ban together and put an end to this nonsense.
The North Water (2021)
Not a mystery!
If your going to watch the series for a mystery you have come to the wrong place. It's definitely a drama and I would even go so far as to say it's somewhat a thriller, But in no way is it A mystery.
Also the series could've been done in probably half the number of episodes. There are moments where the plot drags on and way too many flashbacks. Let me rephrase that a necessary flashbacks after about two or three you get the picture. But I gave it a five because the acting is pretty good and it kept me watching every single episode.
Vigil (2021)
One actress ruined series
I would give series 6 stars for interesting plot and decent pace but they lose 4 stars for casting Rose Leslie. There are just some actors that no matter what role they play in they just totally ruin the show. I wasn't going to watch the series because of this actress but I thought maybe she had just a support role so gave series a shot. Unfortunately I ended up having to fast forward every time she was on the screen. I can't explain it other than maybe it's the way she acts or just something about her overall persona that just makes me cringe. I remember for seeing her in the series Game of Thrones and I cheered when her character was shot with an arrow. So if this actress doesn't bother you then I would recommend the series to anyone who likes a decent mystery.
The Guilty (2021)
Another Good performance by Jake
But if it was not for Jake I would give this movie a one star. I did not see original but in this version besides the movie being just one long phone call the makers of this movie just had to add their own warped Ideology, bad cop so defund the police, and Jake's char make sure to use Gender neutral bathroom.
Are these guys even trying anymore to make good movies? Again less focus on your own narcissistic, egoistical ideals that only a small group of crazed ideologues care about and focus more on making entertaining movies. PLEASE!
The Boy Behind the Door (2020)
Another major failure.
Do you know Hollywood needs to spend less time on worrying about they hit all the Right or should I say left checkboxes, The more time focusing on the actual movie the plot and the writing.
One black main character, check! One Hispanic main character, check! One Trump supporter bad guy, check! Writing that made sense and plot that made sense? FAIL!.
I don't typically take a stand on saying that characters in the movie make bad decisions because as someone who has experience very stressful situations individuals who are not trained for them tend to make bad decisions. However the decisions that were made in this movie from the kidnappers to the boys some cells were so bad that all you could do was laugh at how hilariously stupid they were. I just going to point this one part out the kidnapper takes two boys takes the time to put one of them in a locked room and then completely forgets about the other one It was in the trunk of a car. After putting the other kid in the locked room the kidnapper decided make some himself a cup of tea. Meanwhile the boy in the trunk escapes and instead of running to get Help makes the decision to go back and try to save his friend. Now you don't have to be a trained person and stressful situation to know that the kid would not have gone back he would've gone and got help and that would've been the right choice that would've been the obvious choice. But if that would've happened in this movie it Would've ended in about 30 minutes and that would've been the very best thing that could've happened to this movie.
Honestly if the movie was even halfway decent I'd be willing to overlook their pathetic political agenda but unfortunately this movie was a catastrophe. I have news for Hollywood you're not really doing your agendas any favors by making bad movies that nobody wants to watch and can't even make it through the first five minutes. Another major failure.
Knock on Any Door (1949)
Disgrace
I watched this movie because Humphrey Bogart, but had I realized what the movie was about I wouldn't of even bothered. It's amazing that even back then there was an attempt to remove personal responsibility from a persons actions and choices and blame society? It's amazing how issues up today seem to have always existed, history truly does repeat itself when it is not a lesson learned. Newsflash The only person responsible for the choices made by an individual are the individual themselves regardless of the circumstance they find themselves in the power of their own choices lays Within themselves! I'm not sure why bogey chose To make this film is too bad he did it's not society's fault it's his own.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Good sequel.. See it On the big screen at a good theater
Hard to make a sequel as good as the first movie I think in this case they did it. I've read a lot of one and two star reviews and my first question is why did these people watch this movie? Did they not watch the first movie? And if so were you expecting something different in this movie? Why do you even bother watching it if you didn't like the first one? So to all those people who rated this movie dumb and boring, I have to say you're pretty dumb for watching a sequel to a movie didn't like in the first place.
I also see criticism for the characters in the movie making dumb decisions, all I can tell these people is that until you've been a stressful situation where fear consumes your thoughts and decision making goes right out the window, you have no room to criticize. These are ordinary people, not train soldiers making split, life and death decisions. Walk in their shoes and find out just how smart you are or how dumb.
As for this movie I thought it kept up the level of the original and in some areas exceeded it and others nit. But overall a very good very suspenseful and a high quality thriller. I thought the acting was very good and the ending also pretty good.
I definitely recommend seeing this on the big screen as it makes you feel like you're actually There with the characters and it very much increases the level of suspense.
