The Empty Man (2020)
Needs More Attention!
This film is definitely not for everyone but goddamn I loved it. It's an amazing cosmic horror packed full of twisted images. If you only enjoy films that end tied in a nice bow you will not enjoy this film. It will leave you with more questions than answers. This film is a directors ambitious vision come to life. It's deserves an audience and better reviews. Please support this film and watch it.
Two Distant Strangers (2020)
A Challenging Review
Technically this short is very well made but that is to be expected from something Netflix is attached too. The challenging part that comes with this review is the message of the short. Many people view these messages very strongly and will fight for them no matter the quality of the flick as long as it has the message. I believe the message in the short is extremely important and meaningful but the way it was illustrated on the screen was very poor. The worst part about this film was the writing. The first 10 minutes were great but it slowly began getting more and more unrealistic and laughable for example the scene after Joey is driven home (you know if you know). This film really could have shined if it had a good writer attached that was capable of writing real compelling scenes with logic behind them. Also this short film basically copied a YouTube short posted 4 years ago titled Groundhog Day For a Black Man. I don't really believe it should have been nominated for best short but maybe the academy didn't have a lot of entires due to COVID.
Break Even (2020)
This is a warning
I had to take three showers after watching this. It's that bad! This thing has robbed me of an hour and a half of my life. The writing is awful there is no direction and the acting is doodoo. Stay away please. This movie will ruin your day scratch that your week! I wish there was a zero option I truly do.
In Plainview (2018)
Decent.
Not to shabby. Technical aspects we're all done well. The film suffers from issues in the writing and acting.
Born Into Mafia (2007)
Speechless
The cinematography, acting, story, dialogue and characters are perfect. This is cinema.
Drive (2011)
Master piece
Everything from the cinematography to the acting is perfect. The soundtrack is also extremely mesmerizing. If you haven't seen this film yet you must!
