For the casting ...
23 March 2022
Otherwise very poor script for a very old Nicole Garcia , as if she had nothing to say anymore ... Time to stop. Should I keep going on , so sorry for the actors.

Any more cliché possible.?

No need to watch, after 5' you got the whole story, then it's only a sum of clichés adding up.

Woody Allen , NY and T. Chalamet
5 January 2020
No surprise, talkative like most of his movies, NY at its best , and honestly watched it until the end for Tim Chalamet. The story is kind of stupid and H Fanning got on my nerves as a plain American brainless not sexy girl..... W Allen did better and worst ones, glad I was not in a theater as I fell asleep do a while . Deceptive but charming teenager movie, as even if you try to see behind, there is nothing much .

Pathetic

Poorly written , far too long . Cast ok but no one stands out. Mix of realistic situations with so many unrealistic and stupid ones to the point it is treating the viewers for morons. Anyhow from the US , the CIA, Israel, Palestine and Syria ...you have it all, in a ridiculous story with no point !

Worst movie ever....
6 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Why did Isabelle Huppert play this role? She didn't even dubbed the French version 🤔 The story seems familiar and could have done the trick for 15' .... then it becomes far too long and expected, even the happy ending .

Vernon Subutex (2019– )

An aseptic adaptation
10 April 2019
Vernon knew his life had fallen asunder; not that he ever looked back. Mild, lazily attractive and unreliable old Vernon, fast approaching his half century. By the age of 20 he had found his preferred dream haunt - and so began working in Revolver, a cool Parisian music store. Boys envied him, girls lined up and eventually he ended up owning the place. No wife, no children, his parents died young, yet when it came to drugs, music and open access to the rampaging social scene, he couldn't complain. But nothing remains the same; his old buddies begin to die off, his hair goes white, the business folds and suddenly his cupboards are bare. Vernon ends up kicked out of his apartment, walking Paris streets and reaching out through Facebook (he does use a cell phone) to find a friend couch to sleep, but his friends have changed ... The overdose death of Alex Bleach (a pale rock star) , leaving Vernon a few tapes adds a thriller aspect to the story.... The serie is an adaptation of the two first books (out of three), bestsellers written by Virginie Despentes, nine episodes of 30 minutes . Mission impossible to render her style and language.... Looks like a short trailer , nicely done with a good soundtrack ....but I only wish it gives anyone the desire to read thes books .
