Unsung Hero (2024)
A Must See Movie
I cried throughout the majority of this movie and could hear others in the theater crying, as well.
This powerful movie is a "must see" for everyone, especially the younger generation that is worried about what God has in store for them in the future.
My wife and I are big Christian music fans and had no idea about the connection between one of the sisters and the two brothers from For King and Country.
I like how this movie focuses on God, prayer, faith, hope, and love. My wife and I plan to see it again.
Life is difficult and does not always go as planned. Unsung Hero shows that obstacles can be overcome.
Someone Like You (2024)
Feel Good Faith Based Movie
You'll most likely enjoy or dislike this movie. If you are a believed, then go see it! It's refreshing to watch a movie that has Christian values infused throughout along with no profanity or violence.
Even if you are not a Christian or do not believe there is a God, I encourage you to check out this movie. It's a cute love story. The scenery is beautiful and the movie proceeds at a good pace.
I cried at different times during the movie, which show the storyline is believable and compelling.
The movie industry is filled with demonic and violent movies that are harmful to your soul. Fill your mind and heart with a movie that is touching, positive, and enjoyable.
Journey to Christmas (2023)
Feel Good Christmas Movie
A lot is predictable but it's worth watching. As I age, these movies have more meaning. Nice to watch a movie with no violence, profanity, or weird storylines. Good acting all around and the scenes have a decent production quality. These are good movies to watch year-round, but especially as we celebrate Christmas each year. Movies like this remind us that it's fine to slowly develop a relationship with somebody the two main actors do a really nice job. I've never seen them in anything else but I'm sure they have been another movies and shows. It's nice to see up-and-coming actors do a good job.
Jesus Revolution (2023)
A Must See Movie
Kelsey Grammer does an outstanding job portraying Pastor Chuck Smith. There are two storylines. One is the life of Greg Laurie and the other is the growth of Calvary Church with Chuck Smith with the "hippies" in the 1970s.
Growing up in Orange County, California, it was fun to see scenes shot on location at Pirate's Cove in Corona Del Mar and the Balboa Island "Fun Zone" in Newport Beach.
We are facing many of the same culture and church issues in 2023, but in a different way.
This movie also has a cast of excellent actors and every scene is shot on location. It has a high production value and will stand the test it time.
If you fact check the movie, you'll find that everything portrayed in the movie is true. Of course show me seems we're probably amplifying to keep the continuity in the energy of the movie moving along and to keep the audience interested.
One Hit from Home (2012)
Solid Triple
A little corny but a strong baseball themed faith-based message that is still worth watching in 2022 and beyond.
Different storylines intersect throughout the movie to keep the viewer engaged. Weaving in Bible verses is also a huge plus in our crumbling world of deceit and wickedness.
This movie is worth watching if you or someone you know is struggling with depression, regrets, alcoholism, drug use, unfulfilled dreams, and/or regrets.
Once you are over the level of acting, the movie grows on you and makes you smile along the way to have faith in others.
I watched this movie on Pureflix this weeks.
Elvis (2022)
I'm All Shook Up!
It's one for the money and two to go see this show! I've seen it twice, movie theater and on TV, and plan to see it many more times.
This movie shows Elvis through 2022 glasses. It's now or never to watch this epic flick. You'll be all shook up if you don't see it. It's fast-paced and covers a lot of ground. I'm sure it will receive various awards, from best picture to best actor.
Elvis is for all age ranges and will bring a new generation to enjoy his music. You ain't nothing but a hound dog if you don't see it...now on HBO Max.
It's also sad to see Elvis in various stages of his life, including the ups and downs. If you are an Elvis fan you'll know a lot of the information that's in the movie. However you'll learn something now after watching it.
Stay through the credits if you can. There are some good Elvis inspired tunes as the credits roll to show everybody that was involved in the making of this epic movie.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
If You Ain't Italian, You Won't Understand
This movie covers issues the Italians and blacks dealt with back in the day. It reminded me a little of Good Fellas and the Irishman. The cars, the clothes, the killings, and the deceit. Worth watching.
Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000)
Longtime Fan
Either you like Larry David's brash personality in Curb Your Enthusiasm or you don't. David doesn't care and nobody cares. This series is the best comedy around. It's a hoot to see various celebrities in episodes over the years too. Overall, it's pretty, pretty good.
The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962)
Here's Johnny
The show was a big part of my life over the years. I enjoyed staying up late and watching all of my favorite actors, singers and comedians.
Elvis Lives: The 25th Anniversary Concert, 'Live' from Memphis (2007)
I Saw That Tour!
I just stumbled on this concert on Amazon Prime today. A friend gave me two tickets to this concert almost 20 years ago in Los Angeles and it was fun to relive the show. Elvis is bigger than life on the big screen, while his original band members play live on-stage. It's as close that I will be to the King of Rock and Roll. If you a big fan of Elvis, it's worth watch.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Retro Fun
It's nice to see a series that isn't politically correct. Cobra Kai is for the 20 something and 50 something crowd. The flashbacks add to the nostalgia. Good crazy fun!
For Sama (2019)
You Will Cry
This is a powerful documentary that shows a side of just trying to function and raise a family during bombings and turmoil in Syria. I rarely cry and cried after the first few minutes of the documentary due to the images that I saw. We think the climate in the USA is bad, it's not, compared to what I saw in this documentary.
Unplanned (2019)
Powerful Movie
This movie is an emotional ride and learning experience. Your eyes will be opened and your heart will be broken. It's a tough watch, but a true story that needs to be told.
Mr. Destiny (1990)
One of my favorite movies!
I really like this movie. Mr. Destiny is full of stars and has a storyline that makes us all reflect on our lives. Yes, it's a storyline that has been told in many movies, but Mr. Destiny gives it a new twist as we headed into the 1990's. Ignore the low ratings and see Mr. Destiny!
It's Curtoon Time! (1989)
A Fun Show for Kids & Adults
It's Curtoon Time was a wonderful TV show that taught kids (and adults) how to draw step by step "Curtoons." The jokes were clean and corny and the characters on the show made you laugh along with them!
