Kids Incorporated (1984)
Loved, loved, loved this show
This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I gotta tell you, I haven't thought about this show in a long time until I went to retrojunk.com and saw the intros. It brought back my love for the show and some very cool memories. I remember the kids hanging out in a mall-like setting and the kids singing like they were rock stars in a huge concert hall. I do not remember a lot of the kids on the show or the skits but I do recall the show being a lot of fun with a lot of awesome music. I liked Jennifer Love Hewitt and wanted to be her. lol I also recall having a big crush on Ryan Lambert(he was such a cutie with those big, beautiful brown and killer smile). I wanted to be on this show so bad, that I would often daydream, pretending to be one of the kids on the show, singing and dancing. I would love for this show to come back. It was very positive and up lifting and made everyone feel good. Disney channel, bring this show back!! God bless
On a Clear Day (2005)
Excellent movie.
I was lucky enough to have a theater play the movie close by my house. So I made a night out of it with one of my best friends. The theater we saw it in was different from anything else because the theater only showed movies that weren't the blockbuster, big-budget types. It was pretty awesome.
Here's my review. To begin, the movie was excellent!!!!! I really enjoyed seeing the scenery of Glasgow, Scotland. What a cool-looking country!! The movie centers around a 50-something Scotsman named Frank who just got fired from his job. In an effort to ease his pain, his lovely wife and friends take him on a cruise around the English Channel. When he sees how close they are to France, Frank decides to do unthinkable and impossible; swim the English Channel. With the help of his best friends, he trains night and day to make his dream come true and prove something to himself. ALong the way, he heals a painfully broken relationship with his handsome, grown-up son.
The acting in the movie was superb. All the roles were wonderfully performed and sincerely felt. Peter Mullan was excellent as Frank. So convincing, so touching, so from the heart. Billy Boyd was the epitome of adorable as Danny. He was lovable and funny and sensitive.
Above all, this movie is all about believing in yourself and taking an impossible dream and making it come true. The message of this film is simple: You can conquer anything if you put your mind to it See this movie!!! You will be touched!!
The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
Funny movie
OK, I bet you people anything I'm one of the only ones to give this movie a 10 vote but I will. I'm an 80s baby and was a big fan of this TV show when I was a kid; in fact, my first celebrity crush was John Scheinder aka Bo Duke. So, when I found out that they were making a film, I was looking forward to it. When I found out the casting, I was a little shocked, I mean, Johnny Knoxville and Seann WIlliam Scott to play the Duke cousins? It didn't seem right. I was very happy that Jessica Simpson was casted as Daisy Duke. I admire her, because I'm a Christian girl and admire how she has been able to stick up for her beliefs. When the movie date came around, I had heard that there were bad reviews but that didn't stop me. I saw the movie and I totally dug it. Johnny and Seann were EXCELLENT as the Duke cousins. They were cute and sexy and hot and funny all at the same time and they had the sexiest Southern accents. I loved the car chase scenes and loved when they unveiled the new General Lee. I loved the music, excellent. I'm glad Johnny and Seann were casted as the Duke boys. Seriously, no one did it better than them. Plus, I developed a crush on those two, right then and there. Jessica was adorable as Daisy, however, if she wants to be taken seriously as an actress, maybe she better not do so many roles that require her to show her cleavage or where a skimpy bikini. I was also upset at the amount of cussing and drug use in the film. As far as I know, Georgia is a deeply religious community and I don't think that they would appreciate people taking the Lord's name in vain. I also don't think that Uncle Jesse or the governor of Georgia, 2 men who's should be setting good examples, should be smoking weed. Or Luke be sleeping with so many girls, in the TV show, Bo and Luke had the utmost respect for women; sure, they kissed a lot of girls but they were respectful of their emotions. Nevertheless, I saw the flick 3 times cause it made me laugh and forget about sad feelings I was feeling. I will buy the DVD when it comes out. I may not agree or like some of the stuff that was in the movie but it rocked!!! Worth the nine bucks!!! God bless
