Best Ever Trivia Show (2019)
Underrated
Underrated, but this definitely never can become a Jeopardy or The Chase.
Why is this the case? There's some entertainment value in this show that some of you may be missing; good thing this is not a silly talk show like Caroline and Friends.
Overall verdict: Yes, it does not have enough questions, but it has enough substance to make up for it. You may even learn something from it. However, it won't beat Common Knowledge, let alone America Says. And even the new show Get a Clue is better. Need I say more?
Not "Best Ever". Just "Meh".
Super Why!: Little Red Riding Hood (2007)
Good, but weaker than normal effort.
Super Why is great, and that is quite undeniable. Unfortunately, this episode has more of a Daniel Tiger note than usual and has a few minor errors:
For one thing, "Over the River and Through the Woods". Though it's a good premise, it is repeated enough to annoy the least sane. Most can handle it.
For another, there was a pronunciation variation is this episode, which makes "Grandma" almost sound like "gram-ma".
But, I must add, there was a knock-knock joke in this episode that would be of interest to the target audience and not much of anyone else.
This episode was interesting, though. I recommend it to normal viewers. But, overall, it wasn't the best episode of the series.
Let's Go Luna! (2018)
"But remember, there's always tomorrow." Whimsical show for preschoolers who are interested in learning about the world!
Yes, I am adding a quote from this show to my review, and this is the last sentence Luna ever says in every episode. If you're curious about what the premiere was like, it contained a compilation of segments of the fun show about 10 minutes long. You will NOT regret this show! The advertisements for this were thrown at me over and over again, and then I thought about watching it. I'm glad I did!
The funding is just animated by PBS Kids, but the credits are unique and well done. Theme song lyrics are creative, and just like the theme song says, "Traveling the world as a trio, Andy, and Carmen, and Leo", great adventures begin with them. A magic globe helps them learn cool facts about where they're at, and the globe actually teaches something to me, as a teenager. I know you may not like this show, but please respect my opinion. Andy, a wombat who has his own camera, Carmen, a butterfly, and Leo, a dog are whimsical and very cute, and when Luna the moon comes, the trio sings a simple, cute, short, and sweet song. It invites Luna and preschoolers to join in on the adventure, just like that! They experience a snafu, where, for example, the trio gets cold, the mariachi band has hiccups, or even two missing parakeets. Later through the show, a little song is sung. All the songs are very cute, and the voice actors are NOT squeally like some shows for the preschool age demographic can tend to have.
At times, the characters can be whiny, but ultimately, they are kind to each other and are very fun and peppy. The variety of characters is diverse (which we need because these days, we have seen shows that contain only one gender, ethnicity, or race).
The two best things about this show are the educational value and background music. First, the educational aspects. The world is where we live in, so we need to learn more about it, right? True. This show totally delivers on the educational value because throughout the adventures of Luna and her friends, educational tidbits are used, likewise, in London, people speak English just like in USA, but both countries use different words with the same meaning. In Britain, cotton candy (as the Americans call it) is called candy floss. I had never known such a thing until I watched "Let's Go Luna!".
Then the background music. It is spot-on and beautifully scored! Really, for a fact, it livens up the show to make it as cheery as it is, but not like Barney or Dora, which both use subpar music, but preschoolers probably won't care.
I highly recommend this program for parents and their young children because people need to learn more about the world and there needs to be more programs like this. It not only educates, but it also entertains. Thank you, Joe Murray, creator of "Let's Go Luna!"!
9/10. Worth a watch!
By the way, this holiday, there will be a family movie called "Let's Go Luna: Christmas Around the World" on PBS Kids.
***Update: The Christmas movie maintained the show's formula of great entertainment, educational value, and dynamite music. It starts with a captain and a ship taking Andy, Carmen, and Leo to Australia, but they ended up in Antarctica. Along the way, they learned about the Santas in France, Sweden, Italy, etc.. In the end, Luna and all the other characters learned the best part of Christmas is not Santa Claus or anything like it, but it is actually giving. Just as good as the show.
Caroline & Friends (2018)
Two stars out of 10! GSN turned into a "no-brainer"!
I really hope this show does not run on TV for long because I hate this show and Caroline probably has few fans in her fan base. Come on, Caroline, let us enjoy the videos. NO TALKING DURING THE VIDEO, Please! It is SOOOOOO Annoying! I switch the channel when this show comes on if I am tuned in. America Says is infinity times better. The guests are OK and Snack of the Day is a good routine, but it is too boring to hold your audience's attention. Even before I watched an episode, I knew how boring and awful this show would be. Thank you (not), GSN, for failing viewers into this trash. The picture of Caroline putting the remote to the screen to watch this show does not attract me at all. I don't care, I just don't. I love AFV, whereas Caroline and Friends is a disgrace to that show and turns it into a stupid talk show that absolutely no one would want to watch. GSN, this is your biggest fail. Your biggest, I am not kidding. Basically, this show is scanning through videos and making noises. That's it! Total clone of AFV. I'm sorry, GSN, but I know you can do better than this.
America's Funniest Home Videos: Episode #25.14 (2015)
Worst AFV episode ever
The beginning, where the clips without the celebs take place, is the calm before the storm, which is celebrities laughing where I can barely hear. Then the introductions for celebs: annoying and short. Then you get to the clips celebrities watch, which spoils the whole show (and its laughs). The celebs laughing and their faces take up part of the screen, making it so insipid it is hard to watch the videos. I prefer regular background laughs. I can hardly hear or see what is going on in the video(s) because the celebrities are laughing so hard. Can't they wear a mask? Take them off of the screen! I cannot make it through this one (but as an AFV fan, I can through most) because I turned off the TV. I've had enough of this episode. Goodbye. I made it thru only about 8 minutes into the episode. Cannot get to the end without being immature. I do not care to see the best video. I will NOT watch this episode, again!
I would give it zero stars if it weren't for those clips with no celebrities and if the celebrities went on and on, even in the beginning.
The Buzz on Maggie (2005)
A very good show
It's a phenomenal show except it could have been better off a sitcom. For this, 2005 has been a very good year for Disney. Highly recommended if you are prepared to watch a TV show with flies talking and interacting with each other. Another one of Disney's highlights, and it will stay that way. Watch it.
Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck (2002)
IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS!! This is good stuff!!
The host is Todd Newton. Round 1: Press your luck and avoid the whammy. You could win a car! Big Bank in Season 2. After that round comes the question round. Round 2: Final round. Same as Round 1. Big Bank in Season 2. I record videos of the whammies and it's phenomenal. I LOVE WHAMMIES!!!!!! They're funny. And this game show that does it all. OMG. Rating 10 stars to raise the overall rating. I dislike the 5 point something average.
Update: I am just now starting to watch this show again, and how underrated it is is unbelievable.
Little Einsteins: A Galactic Goodnight (2006)
Great but there's one problem
What's wrong is: 1. They should have premiered the episode later 2. Pluto was no longer a planet less than a month after this episode was made 3. This describes Pluto- don't brainwash your children with telling you Pluto IS a "planet" 4. Pluto is NOT a planet by all means 5. Teach your children this- Pluto is a dwarf planet because it's too small to be a planet. So there's 8 planets. Get real! 6. NOT up-to-date AND there should be A Galactic Goodnight 2 which will be more likely seen by others
Otherwise this episode is great and worthy, with ALL the characters. You will love it. Just love it.
