Bonanza: Clarissa (1967)
Bossy Bossy Bossy
"The episode also is about the role of women in the 19th century who were supposed to mind the home and raise the kids. All Foch wants to do is feel useful.
That's a 21st century PC stretch. She is bossy, selfish, snob. Heck, she even antagonized Hop Sing! NO doubt why, she didn't stay with other relatives long.
This was an aggravating episode to watch, as she sabotages the Ponderosa with her self centered meddling.
Bonanza: She Walks in Beauty (1963)
The crux of the story however is a bit outdated ???
"The crux of the story however is a bit outdated, that a woman with a bad reputation is much like a leopard--she could never change her spots."
Don't see how this is outdated, unless you are referring to today's TV's reluctance to show ANY woman in bad light, in any circumstance (especially a beautiful one).
I guess it is 'outdated' in that it is a bit too truthful for the 21st century.
Bonanza: Song in the Dark (1963)
Close but no cigar.
The first review's summary was accurate, except for the 'Gothic horror genre' exaggeration.
Also, the self righteous, politicizing slam at present day evangelists was unnecessary. Comparing them to murderers is way over the top, especially when reviewing a TV Bonanza episode.
