The Sandman (2022)
Mediocre at best
No clue how this gets a score over 8. A 5 is generous. It is woke and manipulative but I don't care about that. The real problem is it's just not that good. The story line has potential but it never really got off the ground. It's too bad.
Uncle Tom (2020)
Outstanding
Everything Larry Elder does is amazing. This film is no different. Must watch
The View (1997)
This show is just mean
The hosts are mean to each other and frequently even to guests. Can't imagine why people like the show. It's an hour of people behaving badly. Skip it.
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
kinda cliche, kinda predictable
More spoiled, selfish, vain white woman ruins lives of all around her. You know, white woman at root of all evil. Just boring, just predictable. Sad really because it could have been a touching, complicated series. But nope. Social justice makes everyone a cliche.
Here and Now (2018)
Not good but worth watching as satire
This was a red hot mess. I think the writer thought he was writing about hip, educated, woke and complex families but in reality he wrote about small, self absorbed, narrow minded, preachy, cliche families. Still, it's worth watching because it literally puts the NYT op ed page on TV. They really think this represents a realistic American family. It's insightful.
The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn (1999)
Charming movie for all aged
This is such a charming, heart warming movie. Great family picture and appropriate for all ages. Surprised I never heard of it before now. Wish people made more movies like this.
The Family (2019)
Doesn't really say anything
Goes on and on with suggestions about the power of religion in politics but it never specifically says what this group did anything to influence our politics. Says powerful political figures interacted with the group but who cares. How did this religious group influence the powerful beyond having relationships? It was just weird.
32 Pills: My Sister's Suicide (2017)
Interesting but completely self indulgent
The documentary was interesting but not in a good way. The surviving sister, Hope, explores her sister's suicide in a completely selfish, self indulgent way. This was Hope's excuse for neglecting her family while she wallowed in her own self pity. Yes, it is painful to watch someone you love go through what her sister went through. Of course, this is trauma Hope will have to live with and deal with for the rest of her life. But ultimately Hope's attempt to reconcile her feelings as revealed in this film is unhealthy, both for the audience and Hope.
Skip this film and certainly don't let impressible teens watch it. This is not a productive or healthly way to deal with pain, guilt, trauma or complicated feelings.
Tales of the City (2019)
Very weak writing
It tries to be edgy and hip but isn't. The writing is just bad. The characters are poorly developed. The dialogue is cliche. Skip it
Ben Is Back (2018)
Skip it
Unfortunately the writing here is just bad. Roberts' performance was OK but there wasn't much she could do with a plot that just didn't ring true to me.
Castle Rock (2018)
Not worthy of high score
While the series is watchable it's not great. Acting is mediocre. Jumps around way too much to easily follow.
The Bolt Report (2011)
He's spot on always
He speaks truth with confidence and clarity. Sadly few today have the courage or brains to take clear and strong positions that advocate for Western Traditions. I am American but his commentary on the current events of the day apply to anyone who believes in the history and culture of the West. You can find his show on YouTube.

Sharp Objects (2018)
Slow, cliche, and not worth the time
I can't figure out why this is highly rated. We've seen the story a million times - messed up reporter goes home to investigate story. The town and its occupants are a stereotype of what liberals believe to be the south - women are all shallow, uneducated, lazy, catty, backwards, alcoholics and men are lazy, uneducated, alcoholic brutes. Each episode pretty much goes on and on the same. Skip it.
