Mob Handed (2016)
So bad its...terrible
Even Ed Wood would disown this. Terrible dialogue, plot. Amateurish would be too respectable for this.
Was it made as a joke?
With so many actors who actually have acted in quality productions one would think they would have spotted the terrible script, plot and editing and advised accordingly or were they so hard up that they would take any job? That could be the case but its a pity.
Unnecessary awful violence aplenty here, unrealistic depictions of news reporting. Dave Courtney makes a strange appearance driving a tank of all things to crush someone in a car.
Never seen such rubbish and Ive seen some turkeys.
Paranormal: The Girl, the Ghost & the Gravestone (2023)
Good subject ruined by childish self obsessed production style
Very childish production, did we need to see footage of the presenter brushing teeth and having inane conversations with her mates down the pub. Was this documentary about her or about the farm house?
The presenter showed herself up as immature when exclaiming 'what the hell is that?' in response to 'silver nitrate'
I dont know about you when I hear the name of a chemical Im unfamiliar with I dont shriek 'what the hell is that' because Im an adult.
Typical of BBC3, the terribly childish Stacey Dooley 'school' of documentary making. It was a great subject ruined by a silly and childish approach.
The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman (2022)
Lacking in Depth
What the documentary failed to mention was that Freegard was in hospital when the three students embarked in their road trip. He wasnt physically there to threaten them or coerce them. They fell for a lie and they chose to believe that lie.
Such utter naivety to believe that the IRA was after them and furthermore what witness protection scheme in the world asks for those being protected to pay for their own protection. So much for being educated.
This is not to diminish his evil deeds or the suffering felt by his victims and their families but honestly, spy school too?
That aside, not a single mention about Freegard's background, his upbringing, childhood and what may have made him what he was. In fact this background information which is commonplace for all kinds of famous criminals, is conspicuous in its absence even within the wider internet never mind this documentary.
No attempt to track Freegard down? According to news sites, he was recently tracked down to Berkshire, England. Why couldn't the documentary makers have done such investigation?
Great subject matter let down by a rather unimaginative production.
