Do Começo ao Fim (2009)
Short of beginning to end.
I just wander if there is a credit mention to the fact that this movie has been based on or adapted from a book 'The Carnivorous Lamb' by Agustin Gomez-Arcos. The book was written in French and was a winner of the Prix Hermes 1975.
The book has more complex bizarre tale during post civil war with metaphor for the future of Spain. This film is a contemporary tale of unusual love and passion between two brothers, however it starts so similar to the Chapter 2 of the book, when Thomas opened his eyes after his birth and unhesitatingly looked straight at his brother Francisco. That was why I thought that this movie was based or adapted from the book 'The Carnivorous Lamb' by Agustin Gomez-Arcos.
As a contemporary tale is engaging but it is short of reasons why this seemingly brotherhood love between two brothers are so lasting to become sexual passions in their adult lives. Is it simply a result of the deep love affection they have shared for their mother as shown in a swimming scene?
