Ghoul (2018)
Propaganda!
It looks like the only way for netflix and its creators to make anything popular in India is by adding religious theme towards it and adding their own propaganda to mix in the message by forcing their political opinion down our throats.
-First, sacred games and now this. And, also what's up with the weird obsession of netflix from Radhika Apte? Does she has to be in everyone of Netflix Indian series? There are far more young and talented female actors out there.
Cloak & Dagger (2018)
Check Your Privilege: The Show
Nice to see that the writers are incapable of making anything remotely good and derive all their dialogue and talent from Tumblr. Do you wanna know how the bad this T.V series?
-There's a scene where a character confided in a friend about being suicidal, and instead of listening and comforting her, he turned it around and basically said boohoo I have it worse because I'm black? The show is messed up, and it makes you wonder why it is 89% on rotten tomato, to make situation worse even the official Marvel twitter goes all PC about the whole "white privilege" wack.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Expensive and impressively, colorfully designed, but this sci-fi/action movie is frequently silly and not always very smart.
The major problem with this movie is that it is first in the franchise yet it feels like a sequel or trilogy where the story is carried on from the previous part as you can already tell from the first 15 minutes that the main characters Valerian and Laureline have this strange chemistry. Valerian comes off as a flirty and women chaser type of guy yet he already promises to marry Laureline and stick to her for the rest of his life in the first sequence, but she doesn't take him seriously yet when Valerian disappears she obviously worries about him a lot to the point of going on a near suicide mission, and by the end the whole theme turns into Valerian being suddenly loyal to her for no rhyme and reasons and love triumphs everything element, it feels like watching a sci-fi teen sitcom romance.
-Although, no doubt in the visual category as it so far one of the best i have seen in recent times, but the atmosphere feels really naive and innocent, it is hard to put it into words and sentences, but it feels very Spy Kidish theme with dumb aliens vomiting on other characters while screaming at the same time and other protagonists stepping on and touching disgusting alien mucus discharge which is supposed to be funny according to today's standard. I wish the writers could have written something much better after all they have plethora of novels and comics to adapt from. As for overall story and the main antagonist, it is same rinse and repeat mankind's greed and one of our own betrays others and trying to bury it into the past by killing off witnesses to protect their secret. It is really sad to see the first movie doing so bad, and here i had hoped to finally a see power couple which is set in distant future setting sci-fi movie.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
More Like Guardians of the Ragnarok!
Yes, Guardians of the Galaxy did great (both parts), but that doesn't mean you are gonna recycle it again and again. This is Thor franchise, don't fuse and combine it with other space related series and make a mix-max mess. Both series have unique identity, you change Chris Hemsworth to Chris Pratt and vice-versa for the rest of the characters you got yourself GOTG-Part:2.5. The whole Thor realizing his powers and utilizing it against the main antagonist at the near is the same rehash of Star-lord using his new found powers at the end of part 2 and both scenes uses a soundtrack while both embracing the use of 80s science-fiction colorful style. You know there's one thing that seems to bother me a lot that everyone tends to forget while making a review of this movie is how Thor's old team from the previous two prequels gets easily killed off in the background without any remorse and painful cinematic scenes, just to be in the favor of introducing "new characters".
-And Disney/Marvel back at it again with its usual PC culture and forced diversity. You know, your diversity really speaks of hypocrisy when it concerns itself with African-American people only. Yes, i get it and i really understand your ancestors were enslaved, as an Indian, my people were slaved too and maybe suffered a far more gruesome fate, but doesn't mean you are gonna show a white character getting slaved by a black character in the movie quietly and silently and let it slide and everyone will treat it as shits and giggle like this whole movie is. All sorts of controversy would be surrounding this movie if the same situation happened, but the roles were reversed. Anyway, back to the diversity topic, where are the Asian people? There was one guy who got killed in the first part and had a really really small and minor role. Now, should i be offended and "triggered" by this movie as for how it treats Asian people? I fear we are only gonna see more of it from here on in future, the marvel comics already suffers from it and the low sales fully describe they have hit new bottom low with Female thor, black captain America, black spider-man etc, next comes the MCU.
:The reaction. Oh, how much i wish i would have never typed "Thor:Ragnarok" on google, i was still ready to give this movie 5.5 or 6/10 because at least it does a marvelous job at the CGI effects, we sure as heck came a long way from Thor I and any movie that utilize 80s synthwave and retrowave music is always a plus in my dictionary and gets extra scores just for that, but the amount of "movie critics and journalists" have given this 10/10 solely based on "Queerest characters, most powerful blackest black person, how Valkyire is Bi and few other characters" is just too darn high like what the heck? This movie never even explores anyone's sexuality, it doesn't even have any kind of romance at all, it is even less than subtle unless you force yourself to think that way and the fact that every review has one thing in common which is "Bring both your boys and girls to watch this movie". For the love of god, let it be just a kids movie for heck sakes, don't bring gender politics to them, they are just naive and innocent, i don't think they really care about such stuff.
Conclusion:- Truly, the final nail in the coffin is when Thor gets enslaved by African-American female Valkyrie and gets his arse handed over by her all the time, she even kicks Loki's arse. If she is really that strong even stronger than Thor, then why just not make her the main protagonist? She just alone can go to Asgard and save everyone and call it a day and go back to her drinking habits by night. The worst part out of all just check "Tessa Thompson"'s twitter and her blunt hate for men and how she does't care what Boys/Men thinks about her sexuality of her character in the movie even though it is mostly women who are asking her just to satisfy their "curiosity".
Cars 3 (2017)
Can this movie be anymore PC?
All i have to say, way to completely ruin the franchise and take a dump at the mcqueen's legacy. Doesn't Disney already have enough female protagonists as it is? Yes, Cars 1 did great, Cars 2 was terrible, but cars 3 is horrible. I am honestly surprised to see that the third installment has got almost same ratings as Cars 1.
-Okay, lets begin. The movie is really depressing if we look it from Mcqueen's view, as it turns out the true antagonist of this sequel is actually "Age". Yes, he is getting old and can't win against new generation of cars, but that was supposed to be the whole point, a heroic comeback that old/previous generation cars still have it that no new cars have which is on-road experience. Didn't Doc Hudson won against a new gen car by outsmarting it? Why Mcqueen had to wuss out at the final race? Despite the whole emotional build up even after the Mcqueen's crash, the movie tells us that "Hudson was ready for a better comeback and he was ready to give it all after his major crash, but he never got the chance and eventually retired", but Mcqueen still has the chance, and what he does with it? He gives it to the female rookie racer and she actually easily wins by the end. It was her first race at the championship and she won. I don't get it why is it that the female protagonists always have it easy. Now, kids are gonna learn that and learn life the hard way. Sure, throughout the entire movie it definitely looks like he is gonna pass on the torch, but it is just pathetic he never had his final race because he accepts, he is getting old and can't win against new generation racers, and that's how it ends. Sure, Cruz Ramirez won at the end, but it was her win, not Mcqueen's because he has given up. Whatever happened to never giving up? Sure, he could have given up his racing career after that by telling the new generation cars that he still got it, but what the heck? The old cars feels so terrible in the entire movie after being replaced by the new cars and Mcqueen was supposed to be the light and prove everyone wrong. Instead, we moved on from training Mcqueen the new way to passing on the torch to a female rookie to show everyone ladies can race too. It is quite obvious at this point that they are baiting us towards a new sequel trilogy series with new female protagonist. Disney should be ashamed, first they ruined Star Wars franchise and now this, and i only blame liberals. You know what's truly the worse? If the whole theme was opposite, it was an old female lead feeling like giving up her race career and passing on the torch to a new young rookie and cocky male racer, then i would love to see the reaction of everyone.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
The Worst Spiderman Adaptation ever!
I can only imagine people liking this movie who never knew anything about Spiderman and its characters, aside from the fact that he gets powers after getting bitten by a Radioactive Spider which is why this movie skipped over that part. Now, lets talk about the real issues this movie suffers from. This is a spiderman movie where Peter Parker is the main protagonist, he was suppose to be this smart and genius guy, but he is just naive, young and cocky throughout the half of the movie and makes a lot of dumb mistakes. Half of the time, you will wonder where are even his powers? Heck, the movie never ever explores his spidey senses either. It is just suit and high-techs that is doing his job. It feels like anyone can be a spider-man as long as Tony Stark is backing you up, and don't you just love the whole "giving up the job, suit and powers for brief moment and getting back up" cliché. On top of that, it felt like this movie was made for little kids, you might have not noticed, but throughout the entire movie spiderman/peter parker never once bled during any of the fight scenes. I got confused that maybe i am watching a censored or less gory version, but this is how it is. I get it, he is a superhero, but show some struggle on his face and body too like he is really beaten up, tired and exhausted during his fight against various enemies.
-But, truly the final nail in the coffin for me is the amount of PC culture that this movie suffers from. We have a short midget Indian Flash who i can't quite understand his character, he picks on Peter Parker, but sometimes slaps his arse too, PP's Asian side-kick and holymoly, black MJ, and that does it for me. Its not even trying anymore, what are we gonna have next? Gay/transgender superheroes? I am not against any sexuality or gender, but don't change already established character which have been there for about 60-70 years now. Its like baiting the true fans of the already established superheroes and altering their personality and sex. Just simply create a new superhero with different characters and give whatever traits you feel like. I fear we are only gonna see more of it from here on in future, the marvel comics already suffers from it and the low sales fully describe they have hit new bottom low with Female thor, black captain America, black spider-man etc, next comes the MCU.
Iron Fist (2017)
An Honest review!
I am not gonna bring any politic views, race opinions or genders. This is gonna be simple, pure, crystal clear review. After watching iron-fist, i don't know what to think about "The Defenders", the hype and the excitement has pretty much died on. "Jessica Jones" isn't my type of series, the writing is just terrible and the main character is really annoying who just yells and screams and doesn't do one bit of thinking and "Luke Cage" was a great show, but with a horrible and horrendous third act after "SPOILERS" killing off Cottonmouth. Now, lets talk about Ironfist, if i have to compare the quality of the show with the rest of the series it falls way below at the bottom of the ocean. Finn is a great actor, but i just think he didn't really give his best for Danny Rand as a character. The show greatly exaggerates how awesome of a guy he is in hand to hand combat yet the action scenes feels dull, boring, slow and cringey. I have seen far greater martial art/kung-fu action in the old Chinese movies from 50-60s era. Hell, the guy doesn't even have any muscles or body tone. He just feels like your slight healthy average human being who is bragging about his Iron- fist rights, the only thing that feels "Iron Fist" about him is the tattoo on his chest which looks like a fake painted thing slapped on his chest.
-It neither offers a great action deal or a mind-boggling story line that you will look forward to every episode. I get the story has to be slow so that it can fit into the 12/13 episodes slot, but "Daredevil" never had that problem. The show is inconsistent, it goes through your typical family reunion, family drama, cheesy and corny romance, not a single consistent side character or supportive character to make the show even remotely interesting. The worst part of the show that fails horribly on so many levels is the choreography. Marvel really missed a great opportunity, a lot of us went into this series or at least me expecting Jackie Chan, Jet Li or Donnie Yen level of hand to hand to combat action in this series. Don't get me wrong, i know all these are legendary actors who really put great effort into their characters, but the show doesn't even offer half of its quality. I felt Power Ranger's action way better than this! It's like if you're going to do a martial arts show, then you've got to step the heck up. Hopefully, Iron Fist steps up the choreography in it's second season, maybe put a mask on Jones so a stuntman can do the heavy lifting.
Kaabil (2017)
Hrithik Roshan Has All The Moves, Only If He Had A Plot!
Hrithik Roshan tries hard and offers us a great performance but the film plays strictly by numbers and you can see everything coming from a mile. The movie begins with romance between two people who cannot see which is full of cliché and the scenes that just makes you cringe. I have seen old serials having way better romance development scenarios between normal couple, but this was between two blind people. It should give you this warm-touching feelings, but it catastrophically suffers from awkward expressions and dreadful acting, then their relationship goes into fast-forward pace in a song and both are ultimately married except a tragedy befalls the couple, and then things gone awry.
-And this is where movie truly suffers from, you see at every point movie desperately tries to make it look serious and dark except it fails at every point. You have an item song, right after a blind guy's blind wife gets raped and I should mention she got raped twice, and then she committed suicide. I was feeling so frustrated at that point towards the writers who I don't know what crack they were smoking when they thought of adding an item song when the movie suddenly goes so dark and negative. As a Man, I just felt terrible and horrible, we just had seen a blind wife brutally getting raped. I can't imagine how women felt when they went to watch this movie. After that, we have your typical mouse and cat revenge story with tons and tons of plot holes, at that point all I felt is that this movie is playing with my emotions and feelings.
1. The very first plot hole is that A post-mortem is carried out as soon as possible after the suicide on behalf of the coroner as part of the investigation to establish the cause of death. It usually takes place within one or two days of the death, but none of that happened. I guess someone forgot how the laws and rules work before writing the story.
2.The main reason it turns into a revenge story because the protagonist (Hrithik) couldn't bring justice to his late wife because the person who raped his wife (Rohit) is the brother of Ronit who is actually a minister which is established this late into the story out of nowhere and misuses his corrupt powers to control the cops. Okay, I might have understand this if this movie was made in 70s-80s, but this is 2016, no one gets away with such brutal crime these days, and he was not even a big shot. He is just some small unknown corporate minister, don't ask me, the movie never tells us that either.
3. From start till the end, you will constantly feel that the movie is missing something, it just feels so condensed, the movie repeatedly goes back and forth between the home where Hrithik lives, the police station, the telephone booth and one or two more new locations where Hrithik takes his revenge on the culprit which are exactly the same locations that you will see in the first half. The movie never goes or develop further beyond that, it just feels like a B-grade budget movie.
4. The movie takes no effort into developing any sort of character development or their personality like why the protagonist is blind where are his parents, why the Heroine is blind where are her parents? The villains in this movie has no motivations either, they are plainly dumb like a villains drawn by a school kid to further glorify protagonist.
5. As for the revenge, the protagonist comes with a brilliant plan, he has a talent for mimicry and can make lots of different voices and noises, so his plan is to make culprits fight each other by mimicking their voices magically and that's ladies and folks the brilliant revenge plan the writers thought of. I thought they were making a serious movie, but at this point it felt like a cheap comedy movie.
6. His revenge is all about killing, but he never thinks of exposing them to the media or public, so that the people can realize, how corrupt is everyone and he will be doing a great job for other women and couples, so that they won't have to go through what he went through. He even completely forgot about the cops who took money from the minister, so that they won't take his case. He even befriends one of them later into the story, WTH. You should be killing those cops too if one of them did their job right, your wife might be alive right now.
7. The worst part is the conclusion when the cops discovers that it was after all the protagonist doing all the murders, so to gather all the proves they check the call recording and went to the phone booth where he makes all those calls. So to match person, the cop takes out Hrithik's photo to ask whether he comes in daily to make regular calls. It was like the whole cop force was depending on this one alone proof, but the guy turned out to be a blind too and everyone returned empty-handed. So let me get this straight, are you telling me that in one small location Hrithik manage to find a blind woman and also a blind person who coincidentally takes care of a local phone booth too. Is Hrithik really is blind? How did he manage to find an other blind person, but guess what? The movie doesn't bother to explain that to you either.
:Honestly, I can go on and on about how bad this movie is and Can Hrithik Roshan act? No question about it. Can Hrithik hack it, in Kaabil, a film that gives him every opportunity to gain lost ground? That's a toughie.
Shivaay (2016)
Worst movie of 2016!
Watch this movie at your own risk, chances are it might does some serious brain damage and by that I mean killing brain cells and by that I mean the sheer stupidity of the movie might rub off on you.
-Let me say this right off the bat that this movie is half-copy of Liam Neeson's Taken, but of course with Bollywood rendition which already sets the bar quite low. Through out the movie, you are gonna ask yourself whether Shivaay (Ajay Devgan) has super powers or is he like one of those south movies gimmick where one guy can easily take on an army of bad guys single handedly and I think it is latter because there is a scene where Ajay Devgan gets shot by a Gatling Gun from a Helicopter and still running faster than Usian Bolt like there's no tomorrow and acting all fine and then gets stabbed twice by the main antagonist, but still somehow manage to fight him on equal terms. I am still surprise that this movie has such a high rating despite the fact that the conclusion of the fight was a load of BS (SPOILERS AHEAD):-Towards the end of the movie both fell down from the cliff because they were obviously fighting at the edge, but for some reason that exact same deep cliff transformed into a slope cliff while they were falling and rolling because according to laws of physics it is impossible to roll while falling on a vertical cliff, right RIGHT? and they still somehow manage to survive {OBVIOUS PLOT ARMOR} and after Shivaay killed the antagonist he somehow teleported back to the top of the bridge from where he fell down in the first place, HOW? Are you telling me that guy who has been shot and stabbed somehow manage to climb that cliff with bare hands? That is ridiculous even for South Movies and I am not making this up, it literally happened like this.(SPOILERS END)
-Let's talk about the story now. The first hour of the movie pretty much establish this that Shivaay is the master of hill climbing and he has no equal, he is pretty much a god when it comes to Mountains. Okay, I get it but what in the hell is the point of this when it almost has no relationship with the rest of the movie. I mean literally more than half of the movie is dumb investigation and chasing after the suppose kidnappers. If the movie is trying to show us that because of the time he spent in the mountains is the reason why he is so supernaturally strong, then why not make a movie where Shivaay is some ex-govt. official? That would save your location budget and would establish a strong plot material.
-The only reason why I gave 2 rating because some of the CGI effects were damn fine like the one where the photo of Shivaay's daughter transforms into ash and disappears into thin air from Shivaay's hand, but that is it. One scene is not gonna save this un-holy god of an abomination.
