Beast Wars: Transformers (1996)
The Best Transformer Show of All Time
I went into this show reluctant, since I let the animation and new characters fool me. However, I went out of the show stunned. Beast Wars' writing was just plain amazing. Each character was written well (especially Dinobot) and to me, it was much more than a cartoon.
I will point out the best character, Dinobot. Man oh man was he really well written, From the first episode to his death in Code of hero, he changed a lot. He went from chasing glory, to sacrificing himself for the good of others. The dialogue is great, the animation for that time is amazing and its overall a great show.
Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
Great
Overall, the anime and the manga combined are just plain awesome. The characters aren't just your cliché badasses with no emotions, they actually have human emotions with tragic backstories. Attack on Titan has made it laugh, its made me cry, its excited me and shocked me at the same time. Hell, even the villains have human emotions. For example, after Mikasa and Levi get Eren back from the Female Titan (AKA Annie), you can see her crying out of realization of the people she killed.
Again, overall this show and manga put me through a variety of emotions ranging from shock, heartbreak and happiness.
Though the dialogue to me was a bit dramatic and more than I would like it. Characters can spend a whole episode doing nothing but talking with no new action or information.
Dragon Ball Z: Doragon bôru zetto (1989)
Kept Me On My Toes and Enjoyable as Hell
I've watched all 291 episodes of Z and let me tell you something, its a whole load of fun. The character development in the show really stands out. Take Vegeta and Piccolo for an example. Vegeta went from a villain, to a cold anti hero, to a father and a hero. The action in battles was amazing (The father son KameHameHa was probably my favorite Dragon Vall scene of all time) and the dialogue was great as well. The humor was good (though Z's humor will never compare to the OG Dragon Ball's humor) and every single death was enough to put a lump in my throat, despite knowing that they'll just get revived.
Now. lets move on all to Z's negative points. Each Dragon Ball saga follows one main storyline. A new unheard of villain appears, it takes a few battles and transformations until they eventually beat the villain. Some time passes, and a new villain even stronger pops up. Despite the battles being awesome, they were slow as well. The Frieza battle took like 13 episodes and the Saiyan battle took 10 episodes.
In the end, Z is fun. It has flaws but overall, its awesome and I recommend it.
Beast Machines: Transformers (1999)
Honestly, its better than I expected.
Because of its constant hate from fans, I was reluctant going into the show, but in the end, I actually enjoyed it. Yes, it is not a Beast Wars and it has its flaws but overall I think its a good show.
The show had a somewhat deep meaning; balance. A balance between technology and nature. At first Optimus Primal is battling for Cybertron to be fully organic while Megatron was fighting for the opposite. Primal then soon realize that the matrix is wants him to convert Cybertron into a techno-organic planet. A balance. That being said, it does have its flaws. The character designs I admit aren't too appealing to the eye and I wasn't the biggest fan of Cheetor's personality. I definitely recommend it if you can tolerate it.
Transformers: Animated (2007)
One of the best TF Shows.
Animated is heavily underrated due to its very cartoon-y animation style. Don't let it fool you, I didn't have high expectations for Animated but I enjoyed the entire series. Animated was done in its own unique style which I loved about it. If you can bypass its childish animation style, I highly recommend animated.
First off, the main team of autobots isn't a trained badass group, no this team was instead a repair team which grew into something much bigger, something I really love about Animated. Secondly, this version of Optimus Prime was done very uniquely. He's Optimus but at the same time, not Optimus. Optimus Prime in Animated instead of him being an old wise leader, he's an Elite Guard reject who lead a lowly repair team which became our main heroes.
