C'è chi dice no (2011)
Sticking it to "the man"
This is an Italian comedy about 3 longtime friends, Max, Irma and Samuele, who have basically reached the end of their ropes. Max works for a newspaper, Irma is a doctor and Samuele teaches criminal law. Each of them lose their jobs to people at their jobs that are no as qualified as they are. They get together at a dinner where they decide to help each other out by coming up with plots to ruin each other's nemeses. They create a movement called "Pirates of Merit" after they see that their efforts have an effect on their enemies. The film all around is good and I think a lot of people can relate to the characters and how they feel after they lose their jobs. The plot sort of reminded me of the American film "Horrible Bosses". Max and Irma end up falling for each other but I didn't really buy the chemistry between them. The movie definitely has its funny parts, but some of the pranks and plots were a little lacking in their creativeness. I really enjoyed the prank where the trio convinced a woman that the mafia was after her. All around I would watch the film again.

Great movie to relax to!
This movie is great and has a great cast of characters. You can really feel the love between the family in every scene they are in together. They story line keeps you interested and Giulio is a character that you really root for to win the girl. Giulio is gentleman in the middle of selling his family's villa in Tuscany. He takes his daughter there and recalls the summer he met his love Anna. He and his brothers and cousins vie for Anna's love and place a bet on who will win.
Watching the teenage boys fall all over themselves to gain the affection of a pretty girl is funny. One is too over-zealous, another already has a girlfriend and one blows it because Anna finds out about the bet. It was sad to see Giulio leave the villa because of his heart break of not winning Anna over, but then you cheer to see that they end up together. The movie could easily be billed as what we would call a rom-com. Giulio is re-telling stories of that faithful summer to his daughter and you can see how, through his memories, he starts to realize what the house means to him. This is definitely something to watch on a relaxing Sunday with some good snacks!
