A perfectly filmed time capsule
9 March 2022
As with any festival movie, if you don't want to waste time and disappoint yourself, you need to know exactly what to expect if you're going to watch it.

Nosorih doesn't have any deep meaning or plot behind it. But that's because it is an extremely realistic human story and a perfect showcase of the time period it is placed in.

For example, even the attempts of the main hero to talk about the sense of life are ridiculously awkward and laughable - but that's exactly the type of thoughts a man with his background is capable of.

Decorations and scenery, language and intonations, absence of morality and presence of extreme brutality, music and atmosphere overall perfectly represent Ukraine in the 90s.

I also really liked the ending, in my opinion this is exactly the choice a man like Nosorih could come up with while looking for salvation.

Even if you hate anime, give this one a go.

I used to generally dislike anime due to it's distinct character design which I am not fond of.

Still, I've tried watching series like JoJo, but it just wasn't my jam.

Cowboy Bebop however, despite the classic character style, is just waaaay to good - the music, the aesthetic, the animation, the story, everything is just too amusing not to watch it.

Give it a try!

Logic? No, thank you.

The movie is worth watching it. I had great fun noticing all the impossibly dumb moments about the expedition.

No spacesuit helmets while exploring the new planet, really? REALLY? The spaceship crew, those, you know, the best of the best... behave as little children. Yeah, they are pretty "well-prepared" for the mission. The only thing they are good at - sexually penetrating logic. Travelling with 200+ colonists and acting like these aren't important at all, risking with their lives to save a few crew members.. egoistic, isn't it? Just like the real astronaut should be. But it is not only about the crew, what made me mad. The alien is not vulnerable for bullets at first, but then it actually is.. I'm tired already, just go and watch it yourself, lot of fun indeed.
