Painfully topical, beautiful tension arc
20 August 2022
A film made in 1973 with foresight and painfully topical today (2022). The film is well put together in terms of suspense and is cleverly linked to worldly problems such as overpopulation, environmental problems, global warming.

Powerful dialogues in a winter atmosphere
14 October 2020
An important film for cinema. I particularly enjoyed the game of Ayberk Pekcan playing the driver. In the first half hour the film has a very atmospheric suspense in which he has a leading role. But all actors are of unparalleled class. Powerful dialogues and beautifully elaborated atmospheric images. The psychology is very well developed and you feel like you watching in the mirror. The cast must have practiced for months because the game is very natural and believable. Long takes are not avoided and reminded me of Stanley Kubrick's better work.

Watched this movie as I saw The Longest Day for the first time. A totally another movie off course but this movies a so rare. Maybe Platoon can battle with 1917.

Stimulating choreography, exciting acting.
22 May 2019
What makes this film special is the choreography that is shown in an exceptionally stimulating way. It shows great craftsmanship to film a fantastic sensuality with limited resources. The story is not very special and the dialogues might have had a little more poetic power. But what excels the film in portraying the attraction that both players have towards each other. It has been a long time since I saw a movie that could be so exciting. This is far from being porn. This is top-level sensuality and this movie can compete with 9.5 Weeks and Fatal Attraction.

Fury (2014)

A war movie in a classic way.
20 September 2018
What I always ask myself at a film what he has to do. A film can be beautiful but not exciting, one of the two or it is nothing at all. Fury has a strong cast and one outstanding actor, Shia Labeouf. He lifts the film slightly. Brad Pitt has a respectable role of tank commander. The story is quite simple. A warmovie is a warmovie. At the end Fury is an exciting war film in the best tradition. I would like to say boyishly exciting.

A machine gun fire of clichés
14 February 2018
This movie is lost time and overrated. I saw the first half hour and I am particularly annoyed that you have to accept everything for true. The structure of the story is miserable. The main character played by Nicolas Cage sells weapons but it is not clear where they come from. He has customers all over the world from shadowy areas to which he can deliver weapons. Never is clear how he get this customers. He has an unstable brother with whom he cooperates and who can not bear the wealth when they have succes. He goes to the coke and then goes downhill with him. He tries to help him with a lot of tearjerking brotherlove. An other thing, he gets a handsome woman who does not find his work completely pure and suffers from remorse. This problem also must be resolved. In short, this movie has a machine gun fire of clichés whereby the critical film viewer has dropped out before the end

Great characters in a unusual film.
22 November 2017
This is a great movie for not too prudent people. The film is underrated in my opinion. How is that possible? The film is recognizable in its humanity. It stays upright across the board, although in the middle piece it repeats itself a bit. Nevertheless, all praise for the director who knows how to portray uncomfortable themes in an original cinematic way. Beautiful spontaneous leading actress. Humorous and contemporary. Spontaneous and risky without just wanting to shock emphatically. The whole movie watching with a smile on my face.
