Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story (2005)
Lmfao
Well, I made sure I was the first one in line at 12:00am this morning to buy this movie, and I was not disappointed when I watched it. It has the same classic Family Guy humor, and the same random cameos. It's been a long time since I have laughed that hard at a cartoon, maybe since I was a little kid! I was rolling on the floor crying, literally. It's hard to talk about this movie without a spoiler, but I was genuinely pleased with the way it was set up. Seth McFarlane pays immense attention to detail, so you have to really watch for the smallest things. I still can't tell what the plot is, it seems to be very loose. But, you don't really notice because of all the jokes! All in all, I think the movie stays true to Family Guy form, and if you're a fan, you will enjoy this movie as much as I did, if not more. Holler!
The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005)
Very Impressed
As big a fan as I am of Anchorman, this movie blew that one out of the water! Steve Carrell really proved himself as a lead comedy actor. In other movies, he was simply the scene stealer; in this one, he was the scene. I laughed so hard through the whole movie, I thought I was going to crap my pants. I went with my brother and fiancé, and we did not stop laughing. I normally don't do this, but i even spoke to the screen a couple of times. (Of course, I was high, so I spoke up during the weed references!) Even though I was the stoned one, my brother laughed harder than anyone. I would go see it repeatedly if I had the time to do so. This movie also boasts an excellent cast of supporting actors, who took their turns to shine. I still can't get enough of Paul Rudd. All in all, I don't think I have ever seen a movie this openly funny without a lot of subliminal jokes that you have to think too hard about to understand. Super fantastic!!!!!
Reunion (2005)
Surprisingly Great!
When I sat down to watch Reunion, I was a little skeptical. I figured it would be like every other new show that did not last for more than a season. Which also brings up an interesting question: How can they possibly have another season? Unless, of course, they use different people and a different story line. But, I digress. Anyway, I was riveted to the TV during this show. (I even burned my dinner.) I can't wait until next week, to see 1987. I also enjoyed how it jumped from around, but I kind of wanted a surprise at the end. It is supposed to run 20 episodes, but how can it if they show us the year 2006 interspersed between all the other episodes? Something to think about anyway.
HOLLER!
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
The bomb.com!
As I sit and watch Anchorman for what must be the 1000th time, I can't help but ask myself; WHY? Well, the answer is simple. This movie freaking rocks! It boasts an unbelievable amount of one-liners that I am spouting constantly. It could quite possibly become the most often quoted movie ever. Will Ferrell's over-the-top performance, along with other cast members equally daring acts, makes you wonder how much of the movie was scripted, and how much was ad-lib. All of the characters support each other so well, that it is nearly impossible not to have a favorite line from each one.
I am not a fan of all of Ferrell's movies (especially Kicking and Screaming), but this one will be near the top of my list for years to come, I'm sure.
Because, as we all know, 'Sixty percent of the time, it works every time!'
