OTT = Obscene Language + Sex + Oh poor Mafia - Yuck
19 September 2023
When such vulgar content is being made one needs to question the intent of the makers. Was it to show the struggles of Dawood Ibrahim and his love for his family and how he was a shy gentleman like guy with the ladies. I mean what the hell? And the language?

There are quite a few scenes that don't make sense like where she visits the Mosque, love making comparison between Dara and his brother... Coming to Habiba, my God the looks she gives and the ideas. There are 5 well trained gangsters and she is throwing ideas... Isme bhi women empowerment?

Although Dara has done well but that Ajay Devgan like style makes him look like a wannabe... And when Dara and family shoots they are pros and everything is a headshot.

Abey kuch toh sharam karo... OTT ka matlab gaali, sex and anti hero concept nai hai... pay attention to the details.

Made in Heaven (2019– )

No wonder Netflix didn't pick you guys up.

Warning: Spoilers
Made In Heaven perfectly encompasses everything that is wrong, shady and whatever crazy there is in Delhi Belly. If this is how the so called "Evolved and Educated" are then I think what we watch on Star Plus is better. Although the series aims to celebrate love and wedding, all it does is show the ugly side of it. Relationship = Joke, Trust = Infidelity and Friendship = Let's just supporting each other however twisted you are.

Every episode spins a new web of crazy.

Aur yeh beech beech main Hindi kyu leke aa rahe ho, seedhe seedhe angrezi mai karlo na yaar. Bakwaas!!

The most disgusting characters are the wannabe Shahrukh Khan, Kabir and Jas. Jas somehow believes in true love and made in heaven while she secretly like Kabir and sleeps with her other friend.

I would love to see if the story writers can depict a clean middle class wedding with all of the complications.

And its sad to see that every TV show needs to have diversity and inclusion to increase its user base. So much for expecting good content on OTT.

After Life (2019–2022)

High-Toned yet Grounded, the "After Life" effect. Spoiler Alert!!
30 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After life, a beautifully crafted masterpiece! This show kicks off with an amazing song from Bill Withers and you would think where could this go from here? Tony, a grieving husband who is insanely in love with his wife Lisa, is trying to recover from her death. Sad story, you would think eh? No at all!!! It is wonderfully light with goofy humour, but where it needs to punch you with emotions, it does. It is so remarkable the way the emotions in various situations in After Life would relate to you. You may or may not have experienced something similar but the sheer emotional roller coaster is portrayed to perfection.

While Tony looks at the videos left by his beloved and sinks himself into the abyss, and tries to hurt the people around him. His darkness even pushes him to help his drug abusing friend to take his life with the money lent by Tony. Tony's support is his brother-in-law Matt, who has a struggling marriage and runs a press keeping Tony close by, putting up with his tantrums and cockiness. Matt is shown to be wonderfully warm, just like Anne, who bumps into Tony at the Grave. The conversation between them is so meaningful and lightens your mood. Sprinkled into this delicious mix are the kooky characters of Kath , Daphne, Postman and Lenny, who lighten up your mood with their lovely act. Sandy and Emma make reasonable impact with their association with Tony. Special mention about Anti the dog, without whom you could say Tony's character is incomplete. All in all a beauty!

Malayalam Cinema - You Beauty!
29 December 2021
While I am a kannadiga who is now gaining faith in the kannada industry with the advent of brilliant new age directors who love reality, Malayalam Cinema has now evolved into crafting superhero movies and it could not have been done better. Where bollywood has had a mega star cast of Hrithik Roshan in Krrish series and SRK in Ra-One, the Malayalam industry yet again proves that a next door looking guy and gal could make a movie so strong with their performance. Superhero movies need CGI but its the reality around the fight scenes with hero's wearing lungi and riding cycle that brings out the lovely Kerala flavor and they are proud of the fact that it does. This industry does not showcase millionaire's who talk crores of money and business deals, they show the day to day struggle. I have watched quite a few movies and I am in love with the reality bites shown. Tovino, Femina, Guru and the whole cast deserves an applause. Basil Joseph at the age of 31 has delivered a beauty against which all the past and future superhero movies could be measured.

Predictable yet powerful
28 November 2021
A movie which needs to be appreciated for its various dimensions.

It begins with a very beautifully crafted english song which captures the essence of the characters "Shiva" and "Hari", they are synergistically very powerful but bring out the worst in each other.

5 mins into the movie you would see how graphic and realistic this movie would be. Be it the costume, language or acting, its all very natural.

The narration could have been better and in a few places you would find needless slow motion scenes. But having said that, Mangaluru gets a powerful scene setting as the beautiful city, its beautiful temples and the amazing people have been depicted well in the context of the movie. There is so much more but Kudos.

Last but not the least, "Hulivesha super marre"!!!

Raj B Shetty, Rishabh Shetty and your entire crew deserves standing ovation!!!!

A clean modern day classic with a hint of Mythology!
27 December 2019
The entire essence of the movie and its hero is captured in two parts; a) By following the trailer and the buzz around the movie. b) By watching the movie itself. You might be wondering who or what is it that I am talking about.... Avane Srimannarayana. An epic, a musical, a pure tasteful comedy with a hint of mythology. The entire team of ASN deserve a standing ovation. The first 10 minutes looked quite dry but that's Paramavah. They make sure they leave no loose ends. Every detail in the movie is connected. People said the movie was a bit too long, but if it's this entertaining I wouldn't mind sitting a couple of more hours. The comedy especially is true to its nature. The modern day cinema and the so called stand-ups think that adult humor and abusive language is the only way to make people laugh. But the movies its movies like ASN, Bell Bottoms, Kirik Party that show you how to make clean movies. Now I have written so much about the movie, without any spoilers and about the crew but it would be really unfair, if I don't mention the stars in the movie.... Rakhith Shetty, Achyutha Kumar, Pramod Shetty and Balaji Manohar, stellar performance. The chemistry between RS, AK and PS is too good. And OMG!!! is thi Sachin Ravi's directorial debut? Must be joking... The guy already makes movies like a pro. A big thank you for a entire crew and especially Rakshith Shetty.... You are a class act. Kudos!!!!!!
