Please Kill Me, I'm a Faggot Nigger Jew (1996)
Funkin Wagnals!
Great tracking shot in the beginning. Cinematography is second to none. A remarkable film about discrimination that should be mandatory material for children to watch prior to advancement to middle school.
Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series (2019)
Was worried at first 😯 but this really works
It is essentially TPB season 13. I enjoyed as much as the show. They are in a cartoon universe and test it's boundaries, which are grounded pretty much in the Sunnyvale we know and love.
Watchmen: If You Don't Like My Story, Write Your Own (2019)
If You Don't Like My Story cancel
Watchmen keeps getting worse - This is a poorly done show with campy cheese all over
The Morning Show (2019)
I am someone who hates liberal shows (especially crap like Watchmen) - And I love this - its what shows should be
Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are perfectly cast. The slow is not conservative, not liberal, it represents all points of view well and does not make the mistake so many shows make (OMG the NEWSROOM HBO Sucked). This is not smug. After Episode 3 it hits a beautiful stride that makes it to the finish line - an example for how shows still can reach a broad audience and have political tones.
Vice (2018)
Really boring and lacks direction - unwatchable
I made it 1.5 hours through this before falling asleep. Bad direction and really bad dialog. One of the biggest messes I have seen in a long time. Gotti is actually more enjoyable and that's saying a lot.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
Really bad like in Indiana Jones 4 /Ghostbusters 3 bad
Forget about the all female , males are stupid, and you are sexist if you don't like it, cast - this was painful to sit through. More garbage , too much crap these days , Oceans 8 is a really bad idea with a forgettable cast
It's Pat: The Movie (1994)
A culturally important movie that helped power a movement of gender identity
Its Pat is a light-hearted, funny, and relevant film that is full of twists and turns - leaving the audience satisfied and laughing until the credits begin to roll. Its Pat has also been credited by some as making the transgender community mainstream. We let pat into our homes when we enjoyed this movie and learned that transgender individuals are confident and unashamed of who they are. Pat is unapologetic and confident in this film - the co-workers being the real punch line. The movie shows how ridiculous being obsessed with gender is. Its Pat has helped fuel the transgender movement in a way that films like On the Waterfront helped in ridding metropolitan areas of organized crime and anti-union sentiment. Some films have powerful impacts on culture - Its Pat is one that is lesser known - but its influence on the transgender movement has been powerful and moving.
Acts of Violence (2018)
Big Dumb Movie For Big Dumb Guys
Acts of Violence is one of those movies you'll see piled up in the bargain bin at Walmart - mixed in with other masterpieces from greats like Larry the Cable Guy and Randy Quaid. This film makes Death Wish 3 look like Citizen Kane - Guaranteed to satisfy the classless masses who spent their childhood jumping off of picnic tables in pursuit for backyard wrestling glory.
Oz (1997)
Influential yet lacks character depth and succumbs to tired clichés
OZ was certainly influential, a show that helped revolutionize series dramas as we know them today. Sadly, the show does not stand out when compared to the collective body of works that defined television as we now know it. Oz suffers from a lack of character depth and linear story telling that subtracts from its overall greatness. Three main areas where Oz suffers are as follows: 1) Two Dimensional Character Depth- Take for instance the Governor, who is purely evil and self serving and lacks complexity and realism. The character plays like the classic cartoon villain and lacks the depth of an Al Swerengen (Deadwood) that you are made to hate, then somehow identify with, blurring the line between right and wrong and falling into a gray area. The Governor in Oz lacks any qualities that the viewer can identify with and is thrown in the mix to purely represent the oppressive bad guy who for a politician lacks any of the charisma that comes with being a political figure. 2) A forced social narrative that comes off as overly preachy and self serving, thus again eliminating the gray zone. 3) Poor writing - throw this in the mix and you have an enjoyable yet dumb-ed down story that is good in small doses but fails to bring the audience into a realistic and immersive world like many of its predecessors. An enjoyable show to a certain audience that loses its appeal as more and more finely polished gems present themselves and offer viewers a variety of more worthwhile ways to spend their time. Worth seeing, but not until you have enjoyed the extensive list of more worthy productions that came after.
Casino (1995)
Maybe the most underrated film in 50 years
Casino is often seen as Goodfellas in Vegas - But nothing could be further from the truth. This gem brings you into another world and leaves you thinking about it thereafter, which few films are capable of to this degree. There is not an unforgettable moment in this masterpiece. Casino is testament to Scorsese's ability to tell a story better than anyone in an era of accomplished directors. Everything from the acting to the camera work and sound mixing is top notch. If I had 3 wishes one of them would be spent on having my mind erased so I could enjoy this captivating film for the first time again. In terms of replay value, Casino outranks even Goodfellas due to its complexity and stylistic nature - A film that gets better with each viewing like red wine with time- only this film will never turn to vinegar as it is a timeless work of art that will captivate generations to come.
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
Quite Possibly the Most Underrated Comedy of All Time
A lot of critics and viewers can't get past the hand full of scenes that involve shock for the pure sense of shock. When you take away what amounts to a few minutes of pointless bad taste, Freddy Got Fingered is a remarkably funny film. The films finer moments far outweigh the scenes that people most often (mistakenly) judge it by. The interactions between Tom Green and his father (Rip Torn) are what make this film a comedic masterpiece. The scenes between father and son are so great that they make up for the films flimsier moments ten times over. I was never a big fan of Tom Green - I don't dislike him or his past works, but this film would not work without Tom Green. Again, what makes this film a cult classic is the interaction between Tom Green and Rip Torn (I can't say that enough). Freddy Got Fingered has mores genuine gut busting laugh content than a vast majority of comedies that have been released since. To enjoy FGF you really have to define what you want out of a comedy - if it is to laugh and be truly entertained for 90 minutes, give FGF a shot. Think of the movie as a collection of short scenes and discount the overall narrative because it is not about the story. How many times has someone played a funny clip on YouTube while you're hanging out wasting time? - A clip that is short and just flat out hilarious - Freddy Got Fingered is at least 50-60 minutes of pure enjoyment especially when played out of the context of the movie as a whole. Throw in the production value and you have something you probably will not see released by a major studio ever again. I am extremely selective in what I view and would rather watch Goodfellas for the 100th time than waste an hour and a half viewing Wild Hogs for the first time. While I am usually spot on in assessing a film's critical reception, the consensus that Freddy Got Fingered has garnered is truly without warrant. Freddy Got Fingered is an outlier that deserves a second look. It's not just good - it's an absolutely exceptional collection of enjoyable moments that has been overshadowed by the few that have caused audiences to prejudge a comedic masterpiece.
Police State 4: The Rise of FEMA (2010)
Better than the Godfather II but not as good as the first Godfather
Better than the Godfather II but not as good as the first Godfather - That is saying a lot - Man would I like to be that Lucky Pierre... The cinematography will blow your hair back while the brilliant acting will certainly knock your socks off. To call this a movie is to state that hundreds of people were killed in world war II - This is not a movie - It's Really Good Art!
