Boy #5 (2021)
How?
I'm not one to bash, but this was utter trash.
Bad acting, bad script, bad framing, bad casting, bad set dressing, you think of it - bad everything. The bar is very low if this writer/director won an award for this. I have a feeling the 7* review was left by the man himself. Only awarded the film one star as I couldn't give zero.
There's a scene with a woman with a pushchair and the baby is actually a doll, my son who was watching commented 'that's the best this budget could stretch to' and he's 10!
Not even sure how or why I came across this film, or how I managed to sit through it all without turning it off.
Cha Cha Real Smooth (2022)
Effortless Cooper
Went into this with no real knowledge of the films narrative, and really, really liked it.
The chemistry between Raiff and Johnson is pretty amazing from the outset, they both have an effortless air about them which cements the relationship for the duration of the film.
I really warmed to Coopers character, and will 100% be interested in anything he puts his hand to after this, I'm certain it will be just as watchable as this.
If you're on the fence whether or bot to watch, I'd tell you to go ahead and do it now. It's so poignant and heart warming.
