Hatchet II (2010)
9/10
A sequel better than the original
7 May 2017
I loved the first hatchet movie and as you can see from my rating, i love this one even more. And yes, i know many people think that this is the worst one of the series, i think it's actually the best one. They went from "pretty over the top but still quite realistic kills" to "extemely over the top and unrealistic kills". And that's what many people hate. I love the kills in this movie. And the effects, again, are great. I actually think that Victor Crowley looks better in this film. He doesn't look much different, but a little different. The main character in the second one is not being played by Tamara Feldman anymore, but by fan favorite Danielle Harris. I love her as Marybeth. I think she's awesome in this movie and i think she's an awesome actress in general. One of my biggest complains about the first movie was that some of the jokes were not funny. I have to say, i think every joke in this movie is at least a little funny. I pretty much like all of the characters. I think they're all really fun. And the acting in general is actually decent. My biggest complain about the second is again the pacing. I already mentioned that in my Hatched 1 review. I think this movie really is too slow. It takes too long for the action to get started. And my second biggest complain would be that the story is actually not very good. I don't hate the story, but i think it could have been better. Marybeth just decides to go there again, although she knows that everyone who's coming with her is probably going to die. I feel like it would've been better if she was somehow forced to go there. And i have to say, i think this movie has some of the best kills in the entire franchise and i overall love this movie. I think this definitely is one the best modern slashers. And the fight at the end between Tony Todd (who played Candyman) and Kane Hodder (who plays Victor Crowley in this movie and who also played Jason Voorhees in some of the Friday The 13th movies) is awesome. I'm just going to rate it now. 9 out of 10. absolutely love this movie.

Hatchet III (2013)

Underrated splatter film
7 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
For many people this is the worst one in the franchise. I cannot help but love these movies. I don't think this is as good as part 2, but i actually think that it's as good or even better than part 1. first of all, Victor Crowley looks awesome in this movie. He actually looks a little bit creepy. And the kills, again, are amazing. The effects are great. They're not as over the top as some of the kills in the second one, so some people might really that. What many people are complaining about is the story. The fact that Marybeth is locked away for most of the movie. That actually doesn't bother me at all. I really like the story of this movie. What i don't really like is the fact that this movie is not as funny as the other ones. This is more of an action-splatter-horror film, but not really a comedy. There are some jokes, but i feel like there should've been more. Also i think the acting is good. Kane Hodder And Danielle Harris are both back and they're awesome. I really like the ending too. I like that they actually had the balls to kill off their villain. They way Victor dies is amazing. It looks awesome. To be honest i don't really know what else to say about this movie. I think it's fun as hell. Probably the second best one in the franchise for me. 8 out of 10.

Awesome modern slasher
7 May 2017
When i first watched hatchet i didn't think it was that good and i thought that it was overrated. But i decided to give it a second chance. And i'm glad i did. This movie is awesome. let's talk about the cast first. I actually really like the cast. The acting is not amazing or anything, but i still enjoy watching these people. Some of them or actually almost all of them are really funny. Parry Shen is in this movie i love that guy. He's also in the other Hatchet movies and he plays another character in each movie, which is hilarious in my opinion. While i did find most of the jokes really funny, some were not very funny and just seemed unnecessary to me because i know they can do better. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley in this movie and man is he awesome. He is a total bad ass and the make- up on Crowley looks amazing. And that leads me into the best thing about this movie which is also the reason why people watch this movie. The gore. The effects in this movie are amazing. This is a bloody movie and all of the kills are creative and some are actually pretty over the top. I love every single kill in this movie. But another thing that i kind of dislike is the pacing. And i think part 2 has the same problem. This movie is a little too slow. It takes about 45 - 50 minutes to get started. And it takes even longer in the second one. I think it really shouldn't have taken so long for the kills and the action to actually get started. Yes the first 45 - 50 minutes are pretty funny, but i still really want to see the amazing kills. But what i really liked was the 80s feel that this movie had. Yeah this is a throwback movie to the slashers from the 80s and one could argue that that's just an excuse for making an unoriginal movie, but i love the 80s vibe in this movie. And even if it is an excuse, i still love the movie. I think unoriginal doesn't necessarily mean bad. Just because i've eaten lots of apples, i still love to eat them. Same thing with this movie. I've seen this concept a thousand times, but i still love simplistic slasher movies with lots of gore. In the end, i love this movie. It has amazing kills, some really funny moments and really funny ending in my opinion. I can watch all of these three movies over and over again and they're always fun. Yes the pacing could've been a bit faster, but really this movie is still awesome and that's why i give it an 8 out of 10.

One of the worst movies ever made.
7 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Halloween resurrection... where do i even start? I am going to start with saying that this is one of my least favorite movies of all time. It's not just a terrible movie, it is an insult to all Halloween fans in my opinion. Halloween H20 had an amazing ending and this movie just ruined it. Just the plot of this movie alone is just the worst thing ever. "Yeah let's just put some found footage stuff into the movie because everyone loves found footage, right?" No. Found footage is my least favorite genre of all time and i know that i'm not the only one who hates found footage this much. Also some of the acting in the movie is atrocious. And do i even have to talk about Busta Rhymes? I don't really have anything against the guy, but why the hell is he in a Halloween movie? The only good actor in this movie is Jamie Lee Curtis, but she dies on the opening scene of this movie. Not even the kills are good. They don't look good or are anything special or new at all. To be honest, i don't even want to waste my time on this. I'd love to give this movie -11 stars, but that's unfortunately not possible, so i'm just going to give it the worst rating possible. 1/10

Best horror movie ever
7 May 2017
A nightmare on elm street has always been and will always be my favorite horror movie of all time. But not just because it is an amazing movie, but also because it is the movie that really got me interested in movies, especially in horror movies. If i'd have to criticize anything, it'd be some of the acting. The acting in the movie is actually good except for Heather, who plays Nancy. She was decent, but i think the could have been better. But of course Robert Englund plays Freddy in this movie, who is my personal favorite horror movie villain of all time. Just the idea of some haunting you and trying to kill you in your dreams is terrifying. And of course he looks awesome. I think the characters in general are extremely likable and you really don't want them to die. But when someone dies it is really has an impact on you because first of all we don't want them to die and second of all the death scenes are really well made. This movie has one of the most iconic deaths in horror history and some of the most iconic moments in horror history. For example Freddy's hand coming out of the bathtub. Also i love the ending to this movie. Of course i don't want to spoil anything, so i'll just say that i love the ending. I know Wes Craven actually wanted to have a different ending, and yes i would've preferred the ending that he was planning on putting into the movie, but i still love the ending that we got. So, this movie is not only one of my favorite horror moves of all time, it is one of my favorite movies of all time. I can watch this movie over and over again and it just never gets boring. The cast is overly good in my opinion and Craven introduced us to not only one of the best and most iconic villains of all time, but also to Jonny Depp. This is an absolute masterpiece and of course i'll give a 10 out of 10.

Pretty decent zombie comedy
7 May 2017
I watched this movie with absolutely no expectations at all. Just because of the title alone. And the movie still kind of disappointed me. I didn't hate it, but it could have been a lot better. So let's talk about the good things first. The movie is actually pretty funny sometimes. Yes, there are some good jokes in the movie. There are also some really bad ones, but i have to say i laughed at some parts. Also i think the zombie make-up is actually really good. They don't just look like every zombie in every zombie movie, they actually look quite good and different. And i'd say that some of the acting is decent. Some of it is not so good, but some actors are actually doing a decent job. But the best thing about this movie for me was the gore. I love gory movies and this movie actually had some really good gore. I didn't look realistic, but that's not what i'm looking for in a movie like this. It was over the top and actually pretty awesome. Let's get into the negative stuff now. The worst thing about this movie for me was that the movie really dragged at the middle part. The movie is very very short and it still kind of bored me. And the second worst thing was the music. First of all the music was too loud sometimes. And second of all the music was terrible. It really didn't fit in at all. Also the climax of this movie just didn't feel climactic at all. It just kind of ended. I also found myself not liking most of the characters. We're supposed to care about the characters, but i really didn't. I didn't care when they died or when they were in danger. That's not supposed to happen in a horror movie. So in the end i think this movie actually had potential because i usually really horror movies that take place in a snowy landscape. Like dead snow and i even liked wrong turn 4 quite a bit to be honest. But the characters were pretty annoying and the movie really dragged even tho it is really really short. The ending just didn't feel climactic at all and the music was really annoying to me. There was some really good gore and some nice zombie make-up, but that's about it. 5/10

Guardians of the galaxy vol. 2 is awesome!
7 May 2017
I absolutely loved the first guardians movie. It is my personal favorite marvel movie and my second favorite superhero movie (with my favorite being the dark knight). So i was very excited for this movie. Did the movie disappoint? Oh, hell no! Could it be better? Yeah, a little bit. So let's talk about the things that i really liked. The acting in the movie is awesome, of course some of the old cast members are back and i love the cast. I think everyone is doing a really good job. And of course the guardians are extremely likable and none of the other characters are annoying. I'm not the biggest CGI fan, but as long as it looks good, it doesn't bother me. The effects and the cinematography were amazing. But you can expect that from a marvel movie. Also i really liked the story, at least most of it. The characters get so much more depth in this movie. That's good and not so good at the same time. I think the middle part of this movie drags on for a bit too long. I found myself being a little bored at the middle part. But my biggest dislike is that the movie doesn't really know what it's trying to be in like the first 30 minutes, and we as an audience don't really know what the plot is going to be. But overall i really loved this movie. It definitely lives up to the original and i'd love to watch it again. 9/10

Hellraiser (1987)

Original hellraiser
7 May 2017
The original hellraiser is one of those movies that i actually didn't really like at first, but absolutely loved it after a re-watch. This is not a very fast paced horror movie, but also not too slow at the same time. I really think that the pacing is perfect in this movie. There is always something happening, but also not too much at the same time, so it doesn't confuse you. The acting in the movie is good. It's definitely not perfect, but i think the acting is still good and no one annoys me in any way. I also like almost all of the characters. There some characters in the movie that you're not supposed to like, so i don't like them. But the good thing is that they're not annoying, they're just.... kind of evil. But let's talk about one the best things about this amazing movie - the effects. Hellraiser has amazing gore effects. It looks really real and it looks better than most CGI in modern horror movies. And also this movie has one of the most memorable and iconic villains in horror - pinhead. Doug Bradley's performance is really good. Yeah i know i said that the acting is just good, but i think that Bradley is the only one who's really good. Overall, i can't describe how much i love this movie and i cannot believe that i didn't like it at first. It is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and i'll have to give it a 10 out of 10. check it out it you haven't already.
