Star Wars Resistance (2018)
A waste of time and opportunities missed.
I rarely write reviews, but this series was painful and I need people to know what they're getting into. I watched because I pride myself on sticking with things and want to know ALL the Star Wars canon, but this fell flat. They included some characters from the Sequel trilogy, but not enough and the new characters generally come off as goofy, incompetent, cliché, or all of the above. Fans deserved better. Two seasons was two seasons too much. Filoni needs to work more quality than quantity after this failure. If they would've included better ties to the original characters and then tied it in like the clone wars did so well, this could've been great.
The Sleepover (2020)
Pretty Good! Don't listen to the negative reviews.
My kids thoroughly enjoyed this. I even have to admit I liked it. It's not as cheesy as ther reviews say. Wholesome family fun!
Vice (2018)
Some truth, but mostly slanted propaganda
Cheney was no saint, but this film is clearly the left's attempt to discredit the Bush administration. Adam McKay needs to stick with comedy.
Future Man (2017)
From Okay to Pitiful: Why did he survive the Hunger Games!??
Was an okay series marred by some of the worst sac religious material I have ever seen in the last few episodes. Josh Hutchison is clearly a Hollywood D-Lister (if that's even a word) as evidenced by his horrible acting, the fact that he produced a series that only Hulu would pick up (amount of ratings here on IMDb show lack of audience), and the lack of any productive involvement in any real projects he didn't have to help produce. Okay child actor to Hollywood wannabe is why this series and he, himself, are horrible and need to go away. It could've been fun and exciting like Back to the Future or serious and intense like the Timeless series, but instead chose to find a middle ground that was really just a steaming pile Hulu stepped in. Thanks for nothing...
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Can people just enjoy a movie anymore?
I'm not a fan of Avatar, but this is so much better than anything James Cameron has been involved in lately. People need to get over themselves and just enjoy the movie. Stop living off what you "thought" should happen based on your good memories of past films and live in the now and be entertained by the entertainment. It was fun to see Arnold back on screen in his iconic role, plus the de-aging scenes are always pretty fun to see. Linda Hamilton was right in line with where she left off and the change of locations and action sequences were exciting and new while paying homage to the first two films. You're not all film critics so just get ver yourselves and get back to being entertained.
Aladdin (2019)
Another Female Empowerment Story Change
Overall, pretty fun and decent. I can do without Disney remaking every movie to be about a female lead who doesn't need anyone else. I'm pro-strong female lead, but is it really necessary to rewrite everything to fit this? You don't see them rewriting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to be Steve White and the Seven Short Female Leads...I mean, come on. Lets reinvent a story that's true to the original without throwing in the political aspect of the day. Can't we just go to the movies for entertainment!?! Anyway, still worth the watch, and, again, good overall. Just...please...Hollywood...if you could stop the other crap...
The Grinch (2018)
Big Studio Cash Grab
As another user said, an unnecessary remake. The story recreation was a poor attempt and this is not even close to as good as the 2000 version of the story. Illumination knew they'd get an easy box office putting this out at Christmas anyway, but the story should have either stayed identical to the original with some added flare or gone a completely different direction. Instead it just kind of....exists. I have literally written one other review, if even that (I can't remember) but I was so underwhelmed by this film I took the time to put a review here so that should tell you something. The most original parts were I. The preview and instead of making the story magical like the original and Jim Carrey film this one just kind of makes it ordinary. Save your money and watch it streaming if you really want to see it. You're a boring one, Mr. Grinch.
