Persuasion (I) (2022)

A great potential going to waste.
16 July 2023
Going straight tot he point, I love the classics, I like Jane Austen, but the adaptation of the book to the movie was so poor that I am left famished for more. The jargons used were 20th even 21st century. It was like a Gen Z teen directed the movie. All of the actings and cinematography were top-notch, yet the operation lacked much. The shots, the visual and auditory quality were amazing, nonetheless. Such great and touching story should have been told differently, also by someone different. Dakota's character Anne was tried to feel close to the viewers but instead the direct-look into camera, narrated inner-voice, etc. Seemed childish and inappropriate to the old English style and the era the movie was taken. I don't know if the producers wanted to converse and mix the styles of the essentials of the book but it sadly fell short.

Didn't meet the expectations
14 July 2023
Even though it was a documentary-wise biographical, it was like a bad thriller film; a poorly executed one. The actings were weak, cinematography was cheap, music fades were unsynchronized, camera shots and angles were poor, and the story-telling wasn't good either. The real case is very fearsome and tragic, yet the movie wasn't able to show that to the audience. In my opinion the best acting was the Detective's and it was the only good one. I even caught the mom smiling in a shot where the McAllister family was arguing about Philip and Megan was crying, smh. They didn't even pay attention to the details...

Better than I expected
17 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Mostly different from the Disney classics, yet unique on its own way. The actors/actresses are pretty good, historical parts - not that much. It's great that the director and producers didn't copy the other Mulans exactly but I definitely prefer the Disney's ending because Wentai and Mulan got married in that one and I'm a sucker for happy endings. Though I wonder why didn't they wed the Avar princess with other brothers' of Wentai because they could have and thus my ship couple could be together. These shortcomings are my reasons of the -2 stars. Oh and last of all, I bawled my eyes out when Mulan's brother died in front of her and they were singing their special cultural song...

what?!
23 December 2022
Unlike any other time, i'm not gonna try to make a decent review. It was a disappointment. I'm gonna list my unsatisfactions one by one.

1st - they did steve dirty. You can understand someone if they're the cheating kind or not; and steve wasn't one of them. He would have never had sex with someone else than miranda just because she wasn't sexually active for a couple of months. Even though she has always been an unconsiderate and unthoughtful, rude, workaholic as***le. Even tho miranda seems the rational kind, she never took criticism fondly. She was always a headstrong woman, yet i don't believe that she was ever this impolite. (e.g. Their sex scene). She didn't deserve someone like steve who is the most loving, thoughtful, under-appreciated man in the world. Whereas he chased his love, miranda for almost 4-5 seasons.

2nd - carrie was never the hopeless romantic victim lead imo. She is a selfish, arrogant, narcissist, needy and stubborn bia**h. Yes people had done wrong to her too but she kinda deserved some of them. She didn't know how to behave normally or be a genuine person towards people or her formel lovers. At some point everyone complained about carrie not listening to them or their problems or can't talk about her life and issues. But it never happened with other people. In the contrary of the sex and the city franchise's main point, i think carrie wasn't that good of a friend.

3rd - Big and C deserved each other because big was an unstable, undecisive and immature "bad guy who does bad things" (carrie's words). Everything was exagarated for drama in this film and i don't like the fact that this action sweeped the piece's sincerety and warmth. They could've done a better job :(

Impressive
19 September 2022
I think this one was better than the original and all of the other re-makes. Even though the context was a classic slasher action horror movie, there weren't any silly cliché phrases like "let's split up, you're lying, there wasn't anything there, you're hallucinating\dreaming stuff, no one's coming after us" or repeated stuff such as screaming vacuosly, getting jammed in absurd things or not being able to get up, straighten and run away quick enough. Also I've kept wondering what happened to the toothy boy and felt sorry for him. Lastly the ring part was very very sad and depressing. Erin last saw Kemp when he was waiting at the "terror house"s door and they were sour... She never knew that he was gunna propose :(((

The Legend of Korra: The Last Stand (2014)
Season 4, Episode 13
1/10
I disagree with all the comments and high stars.
24 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It was a ruined finale! All those romance between characters for 4 seasons and almost none of them ended up together. Especially Mako and Asami or Korra. The Avatar: Last Air Bender ended so much better and resolved. But this was ambigious and felt uncompleted. Finishing the greatest spin-off of all time with a "girls vacation"?? No...

I have mixed feelings...
18 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
That half-happy-ending got stuck on me :( It wasn't a happily ever after, but it was more of a happily ever really later after. If you don't like that in romance movies -same as me- don't watch it. I felt so sad at the fact that they have lived their life waiting for each other but never gotten together as in marriage-wise. Gonna console myself with them being truly together for the appx. Last 10-20 years of their lives until they die. Other than those, the acting performances were flawless but the showtime could've been longer considering that the events of both time periods would be much more detailed.

What was that?!
27 July 2022
If the (legendary) series had 100 topics/events during the show time, this live-action had ignored 98 of them. It was empty, miscalculated, lacking, disappointing, and all the other sad adjectives and phrases... Oh and btw, there weren't Toph, the bounty hunter chick, Mai, Suki, Jet and the Freedom Fighters, Hakoda, Ty Lee, Avatar Roku, Cabbage Merchant, the Pirates, Gran Gran and so many more. Sokka didn't blast a joke even for once and Aang wasn't goofy at all. To top them all of, it ended like it had a sequel but after 12 years it never came. So it was half-ended.

Disappointing
1 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
K and Deckerd's fight would have been avoided with a normal dialogue. Joi didn't have to be "canceled". Madam didn't have to die. Why didn't they tell the story of the "Memory Maker Daughter's" illness? They did K dirty making him believe that he was the miracle child. A lot of bad behavior or outcome of the Replicants' might be avoided by making them in a spesific and certain manner and quality or make them look the same, etc. Too long time yet too little was told. Waste of opportunities...

Just end the franchise already...
9 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I agree with most of the comment(er)s that this was an absolute blow-out. Almost every death was avoidable and I can not understand why people don't think or acknowledge that Michael is not a human-being. He is literally an immortal, invincible and undefeated creature. He bleeds, yet he does not die or get injured; although he gets old??! Nothing makes sense, and it never did with Halloween. If this monster doesn't die from bullets, any kind of guns and knifes or even fire, then burn him in front of the town's eyes till it turns into nothing but ashes. Cut its head and every limb off. Grind him to pieces or sacrifdice him to Satan. I mean I'm not a psycopath or anything but there are other ways to destroy this monster than stabbing it...

I'm not gonna give any details but...
17 March 2022
I can not stop myself from expressing my frustration and anger towards the whole show. For all the viewers who are considering to start watching the show; don't! Unless you like bad endings, annoying characters, good people turning bad, illogical events and continiously forgotten details, no respect or sensibility towards fans, unnecessary drama and sacrifices, lots of preventable deaths and not any kind of true soulmate matches but only aesthetically suitable couples (except BonEnzo); then watch it. It was not fair to both characters and us. You may ask why am I this angry. Well it's because this happens when you dedicate your weeks or months to a series and have a connection with it for it to only end in a way you least wanted! Imagine that at the finale of the "Friends" Ross and Rachel never end up together, Monica sleeps with Joey ,Phoebe and Chandler die alone and Ben hates his dad or even the whole group is not even friends anymore!!! TVD gives you the same vibe. And surprise, even though it's not a supervillian story, all the characters are literally murderers and most of them are actually evil monsters... Are they all super good-looking and hot? Absolutely. And it's the only reason that this show is remotely watchable. Never expect too much from a scenario that was created from a book, it doesn't satisfy you at all. I hate Julie and Kevin with all my guts now.

Uhh, I guess I'm thinking too much
25 February 2022
Well I've loved the movie throughout, but I def. Hated it at the end. I've read that there was an intention of the screenwriters' to create the agony between career, family, romance etc. And to show the indetermination of choosing one since we can't have them all; but I'm still not satisfied with the finale. Because Raffael left the heart-broken Olivia in their own dimension\universe by taking away the novel from the #2 Olivia and not letting her finish the story. So he couldn't turn back to his world to fix his relationship with his wife and let her down! Instead when the #2 Olivia came and kissed him after the concert he was okay with having the other Olivia but not his actual wife, and decided that it was easier to be with a woman who is already in love with him and not pissed at him. Not to mention that Felix never got to have his real bff back because Raffael didn't go back. This means Raffael didn't love his wife, but he loves and could love any Olivia. My man didn't pass the vibe check, this ain't real love bro.

Complicated and confused...
16 February 2022
If we evaluate the movie as a piece of the Halloween franchise, it's a 1-point awful, irrelevant, a non-sequel movie. Because Michael never makes a sound, runs, or takes off his mask. Also Dr. Loomis became an arrogant, unthoughtful, rude, stingy b**tard? And Laurie never talks or curses that much?? Although if we judge the piece as an independant R-rated, bloody, horror movie, it was pretty good except the scene with awkward creatures that Michael sees.. At the end, I wished that it was an independent one-piece story.

Bravo!
14 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I think it's even better than the original and its any sequels. I'm watching the Halloween franchise by date order and this is far the best one. No slow-walking boringness, faster actions, thus more events... Even though in the other films people always said that Michael was never a normal person, even when he was a child: they never explained or described his childhood or family in particular. Also for the first time, they gave Michael and his actions a purpose. In the previous movies, he was an aimless and soulless, immortal killing machine; and knowing that he's spared his baby sister's life before, they did not make Mikey tryna kill Laurie 15-17 years after. Because it was a stupid idea, since he didn't want to hurt her. And I guess by that reason in this piece, he was trying to capture Laurie and introduce himself to her. Maybe even live together. Otherwise he wouldn't carry her here to there, but just kill her at the first moment he got her. So I wish this was the original one and the sequels would have created according to this.

Awful!
3 February 2022
It was a complete waste of time. I get that Michael is a slow-walking man but does it mean also ALL the actors are supposed to walk and act that slow??? I've skipped all the empty scenes and finished the movie in like 50 minutes. Everyone was hideous; none of the victims ran away from The Shade or screamed for help. Some of them tried to use the phone but none of them managed to call someone. It was very boring and cringe to watch the meaningless behaviors and terrible actings other than the Doctor. I think he was the best of them all. I literally don't understand the logic behind the gawks and slowness.

Extraordinary
15 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
-1 point for it being black&white because I hate colorless pieces. -1 point for Amanda and Jim to NOT getting together after the day that they spent together. But amazing unscripted performance and to be honest, the movie was quite special for me considering that when Amanda said I haven't cried in 5 years because of the antidepressants I related to her while laughing. And then when she surprisingly started crying while reading Jim's 22 year old letter, I've started to cry with her too and I didn't realize it untill she pointed out her teardrops and laughed. So yeah, it was pretty nice.

Don't come at me but...
29 December 2021
I didn't laugh at all, although I clearly understood how much of a jerk father Harold is. I got the tension between brothers and the disappointment of the sister about the whole family situation but I must have missed some essential details about the film because I was just slightly interested and enjoying the piece. I believe there were many other succesful films which expressed the family drama much better.

A general idea
25 October 2021
What if the little glows are actually "the voices in our heads that tell us the right thing to do" as Eleanor says? I mean it is obvious that nothing can disappear completely forever. So maybe they become them!

"Picture a wave in the ocean. You can see it, measure it, its height, the way the sunlight refracts when it passes through, & it's there, & you can see it, you know what it is.

It's a wave & then it crashes on the shore & it's gone.

But the water is still there.

The wave was just a different way for the water to be for a little while."

Lucifer: Partners 'Til the End (2021)
Season 6, Episode 10
4/10
I'm very disappointed!..
16 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
1- Lucifer could easily pop up to Earth to see Chloe, Rory, Trixie and his friends like he always did to check up on Dan, escape from world problems, etc. That way Chloe wouldn't have to raise her children or spent her 40-50 years on Earth without him and Aurora wouldn't grow up without a father. Amanadiel managed to do that and spent time with humans and his son even though he became God...

2- Chloe should have said the truth about Lucifer's being gone to Rory. That way she would knew the real reason about his father's "abondenement" and wouldn't grow up hating him.

3- When Chloe was in her deathbed and Rory learned everything, they said goodbye to each other but where was Trixie?! She was her daughter too but they just dismissed her and been unfair.

4- How the hell did they managed to kidnap Rory in the first place with her intelligence and blade-wings? Even though she is half angel-half human she is still strong and dangerous. On top of that how did the French guy and his friends think that they can defeat the Devil, take his revenge? Don't even make me start with how did they figure out that Rory's blade feathers could kill the celestials too. Thinking that only a few people know about Azrael's blade and Rory's wing's power and ability, them using her feathers by cutting out and making them weapons against Lucifer, it's just absurd.

They could've really done better. I think they let us fans down.

Warning: Spoilers
I really wasn't expecting this but besides the 3rd movie being my favorite one, it was really judicious, impressive and unexpected. Especially Nick Goode being evil. I thought he was different... Anyways, once again the real monster turned up to be not the devil, demons, nor the witches, but people. I'm glad the trilogy didn't have an open ending but a happy, fair one. Definitely recommend to binge all.

18 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've prepared myself for the disappointment about the grande finale but this was much annoying. First of all Skinner would've shot the Smoking Man instead of Monica because I don't think she deserved to die and if he killed the cancer guy, I think Monica would stop driving towards Skinner and even help him. Secondly, Mulder and Scully gave up on William so suddenly at the end because they learnt that he was "just" a product from a laboratory as a scientific experiment but all along they tried to find and protect him. They always seemed to love and care about him. So when Dana said: "We should let him go, he was never our son.", it didn't make sense to me. 2 minutes ago you were running and screaming for him??? CC must've mixed up his mind right there! And lastly how the freak is she pregnant even though she is infertile? Also when she declared her pregnancy they were both like oh okay who is william let's just focus on our new "normal" unborn baby. Well jokes on them because Scully has alien DNA!

I cut the 2 points because of the ridiculous ending...
26 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the film but I have 2 issues. Susan clearly sad that she liked the owner of the Joe Black's body (Brad Pitt) very much. And then when he died and his body was the host for literally Death, she continued liking him. And they said i love you to each other too. But in the end even though he doesn't remember anything after the accident, he seemed like he was in love with Susan too. I mean in that case Susan both loved the owner of the body and the Death which is not a person but a concept or idea. Also even though Joe Black knew Susan for only approximately 1 hour, he was still in love with her! How?

2nd thing is, at the end Susan seemed like she figured everything between Death and his father's death but she didn't even go after and try to help him or wanted to see his body or something. Even though I understood the whole concept and meaning of the movie, these things still bothered me. I think the problem is I'm way too realistic.

Bad quality movie but...

Warning: Spoilers
I like J Lo and Ryan Guzman so I watched it because of 'em. Sex scenes were nice and I liked Noah I think he deserved better. Claire didn't even give him a proper explanation; just pushed him away with her guilt. Maybe, just maybe if she wasn't that cold or smn he wouldn't have turned into a monster. But I don't defend him at all costs tho he is a disturbed teen killer.
