Here Come the Littles (1985)
Criminally under-rated
One of my favorite animated films as a kid still holds up as an adult.
Let's see... We have a brother and sister with a sweet loving relationship (the brother is protective, the sister admires her brother), an adventurous older relative who's a lot like Scrooge McDuck. A wacky pilot (Launchpad McQuack anyone?).
Then there's the peril of ordinary rats and insects being giant monsters to the Littles, making the ordinary epic, GREAT animation with detailed backgrounds and imaginative world-building, a perfect balance of character building, silliness, and danger, and you have a winner.
The voices are fantastic. All our little heroes are extremely likeable. The simple plot is easy to follow. This movie has just enough peril, fun, and inventiveness to make it a classic.
This film BADLY needs an HD remaster so people can see how good it actually is. If you like Rainbow Brite and other cartoons from the 80's this is a must-see.
