Entertaining and Different

This show is great. Starts out strong, weakens in season 2, then concludes well in season 3. It feels very unique, sometimes alienating but it's too irreverent to get offended by. Watch this if you're bored with the usual stuff and are craving something very weird and surprising.

Surprisingly good

This is part of the Taxi/Cheers/Tracy Ullman/Simpsons family and for how little I had heard of it compared to the others, I wasn't sure if it would do as well. It's actually got some fantastic lines. The only issue is Helen who is self-obsessed to the point of putting other people in danger or in debt, and those are her "friends" on the show. Without her, the show would be a triumph.

Surprisingly Bad

Unsatisfying and weak. Well-acted but poorly written.

This season has been all hits. Fun, action-packed and hilarious, a great adventure RV episode.

Pointless

Pointless remake. John Carpenter attempts a redemption movie with more production value but far less substance and direction. Had potential but as soon as you clue on to the bratty motivations of Carpenter it will bore you to tears. I gave it two for the sparse wit and the occasional nostalgia.

It is what it is
23 October 2011
It's a reality TV show called 'Beauty and the Geek', so yes it's a bit cheesy and a little embarrassing at times, but isn't that why we watch reality TV in the first place? I know that's why I do.

The Australian version also shows a nice cross-section of people, who aren't soulless Survivor-type contestants and actually seem to develop the odd, fairly sweet relationship from time to time.

It also has a lot of nice messages about confidence/self-esteem, body image and getting to know someone before making judgments.

That, combined with hot girls falling over and geeks getting make-overs makes this just a fun, secretly enthralling reality show.

Classic Chasers
20 December 2010
If you love Chaser's War on Everything, you'll love this. It revolves solely around Australia's 2010 election, and making fun of everyone in said election.

It's a huge step up from the writing in the final season of Chasers, the boys seem more at ease and relaxed now that they're able to poke at things properly again. And they can, the humour is unrestrained, and they even humiliate a few pollies and journos on their very own set.

Relevant, insightful and humorous commentary on not only this election, but elections in general; the little inconsistencies and common ploys we wouldn't have noticed if not for the Chaser.

It's great to see them back in fine form!
